Since I was ten years old, a very long time ago, I have believed in a pre-Tribulation Rapture. Even though I didn’t grasp its significance and had much to learn about it, I sensed that it aligned with the words of Scripture.
Even after my seminary studies solidified this conviction, it took a long time for me to fully appreciate all that makes our blessed hope so wonderful. I’m still growing in my gratitude for this precious hope revealed on the pages of God’s Word.
Our adversary has a very different attitude toward it. Over the past few decades, he has greatly intensified his attacks on our anticipation of meeting Jesus in the air to the point where the word “rapture” has become taboo in many churches, even those that claim to believe in the inerrancy of Scripture. As a result, much of the mocking of our hope comes from those professing faith in the Lord Jesus.
Rather than dwell any further with the scoffers, I want to emphasize what makes our blessed hope so wonderful and thus a target for our adversary.

The greatly memorialized human figures of earth’s history speak to whom man believes is in charge of life upon the planet. Nimrod is the first individual to be thus lifted to “deity” status by the people of the post-antediluvian era.
Those who created the stories of humankind’s rise from that Tower of Babel time seem to have used Nimrod to create the legend of Gilgamesh in Mesopotamian legend. Their historical proximity seems logical to their linkage, but there is no known historical evidence that Nimrod and Gilgamesh were one and the same.
We can be certain that one was a living being. Nimrod is chronicled in God’s Word, while Gilgamesh is a demigod of legend.
Why Any Deal with Iran Is a Mistake

Once again, the US appears prepared to negotiate another agreement with Iran in the hope of limiting Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and reducing tensions in the Middle East. The negotiations are a dangerous illusion, based on the false assumption that compromise, sanctions relief, and engagement are the only path to regional stability.
There can be no “good” deal with a jihadist regime that openly sponsors terrorism across the Middle East, brutalizes its own people, calls for the destruction of Israel, and continues to chant “Death to America.”
U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum this week called Iran’s current Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) leaders “terrorists with an oil field.”
An agreement will not moderate them. It will embolden them.

Whether it’s morbid curiosity or because people are simply tired of their mundane lives, a subtle, if not insane, yearning to live out a nuclear war has woven itself into our modern psyche. We’ve become a culture fascinated by what life could be like eking out our own survival in an irradiated wasteland. According to the Bible, we’re going to get it!
An Ill Wind Blowing
The Bible warns that terrible times are coming soon, bringing a sudden end to our current age. The Lord Jesus revealed: “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth anguish among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken” (Luke 21:25-26).
Jesus pointed out how severe the prophesied danger will be: “For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will” (Matthew 24:21).

We aren’t supposed to talk about the social decay that is running rampant all around us. Instead, we are supposed to just shut our mouths and pretend that everything is just fine. But that isn’t the truth. Homelessness is the worst that it has ever been, more Americans are addicted to drugs than ever before, gang members outnumber the police, women are being sexually assaulted in staggering numbers, thieves are having a field day and street violence is seemingly everywhere.
Of course if crimes never get reported they never show up in the official numbers, do they?
We know that there have been instances where the crime numbers have been purposely manipulated in order to make local politicians look better.
But no matter how much corrupt officials monkey with the numbers, nobody can deny the reality of what is going on in our neighborhoods.

Israel’s warning that Turkey, Iran, and Hamas are helping inflame terrorism in the West Bank should get the attention of anyone watching the Middle East through a prophetic lens. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has compared Israeli leadership to history’s worst tyrants, openly hosted Hamas leaders, halted trade with Israel, and championed anti-Israel causes throughout the Muslim world. Meanwhile, Iran continues its decades-long campaign of arming terror proxies and threatening Israel’s destruction. When nations that once traveled separate roads begin moving in the same direction against Israel, students of Bible prophecy take notice because Ezekiel described exactly such a coalition forming in the latter days.
Ezekiel 38 names Persia, modern Iran, as a central player in a future confederation against Israel. It also references Meshech and Tubal, territories many prophecy scholars associate with modern Turkey. For years, skeptics dismissed such interpretations because Turkey was firmly anchored in NATO and outwardly aligned with Western interests. Turkey may still wear a NATO badge, but its rhetoric increasingly echoes Tehran’s grievances. This does not mean Ezekiel 38 is unfolding this afternoon. Prophecy unfolds on God’s timetable. Yet when the nations named in ancient Scripture begin finding common cause in hostility toward Israel, thoughtful observers should recognize the strategic and spiritual significance of the moment.
Turkey’s recent conduct reinforces that concern. Ankara has hosted Hamas political leadership, supported Gaza activism aimed at isolating Israel, and positioned itself as mediator while simultaneously condemning Israeli military actions. Turkish pro-government media has labeled Israel the region’s “number one threat.” Iran, for its part, continues coordinating pressure through Hamas, Hezbollah, and other proxies. Alliances often begin with shared narratives before evolving into shared operations. Scripture does not require every actor to understand their prophetic role. History shows nations act according to interests, ambitions, fears, and ideology. Yet God’s Word consistently reveals the broader frame. What appears to be routine diplomatic maneuvering today may be setting the stage for a far larger confrontation tomorrow.
Believers should approach these developments with discernment, not sensationalism. The Bible calls us to watch, pray, and remain steady. Israel has endured enemies throughout its history, yet Scripture makes clear that Jerusalem is central to God’s prophetic plan. Whether this current Turkey-Iran alignment is an early shadow or a more direct precursor, the lesson remains the same: history is moving somewhere. Ezekiel 38:23 says, “Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the LORD.” Headlines change quickly. God’s Word does not. For Christians, the proper response is faithfulness, wisdom, and prayer for the peace of Jerusalem.

If you ask people to list the top priorities in their lives, you’ll probably get a lot of thoughtful and inspirational answers. But if you really want to know what their top priorities are, you have to look at their financial records. The way people use their money is one of the best indicators of where their priorities lie.
Jesus explained it this way: “Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be” (Luke 12:34 NLT). The reality is that we all invest in our passions. If you want to find out what people are truly passionate about, follow the money.
God certainly does. Not because He needs our money, but because everything we have ultimately comes from Him. Not only does He supply our needs, but He also expects us to be wise stewards of our resources, which are actually His resources.
The apostle Peter wrote, “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another” (1 Peter 4:10 NLT).
The author of Proverbs wrote, “The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed” (Proverbs 11:25 NLT).
The message is consistent throughout Scripture. We need to take what God has given us and be wise stewards of it, investing generously in the work of the kingdom of God. God will generously bless those who heed the message.

Some people may say, “I can’t afford to give.” Really? I can’t afford not to give. Giving isn’t just for rich people; it’s for all people. Everyone should invest in God’s kingdom. Here’s something to consider: If you’re having financial struggles, maybe one of the reasons is that you’re not honoring the Lord in your giving.
I’m not saying that if you give, God will make you rich. But there’s no denying that the Bible makes a connection between giving and receiving. Paul follows up his words in 2 Corinthians 9:6–7 with this statement: “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others” (verse 8 NLT).
Make God’s work your passion and then invest accordingly. See what happens in your life.
