It’s War! Iranian Leaders Vow Revenge With “No Limits” After Israel Bombs Iran

Things are about to get very interesting in the Middle East. The Israeli strike on Iran that we have been anticipating has finally happened, and now Iran is warning that there will be “no limits” in how it responds to that attack. In other words, we are on the brink of the sort of all-out war between Israel and Iran that I specifically warned about in a chapter entitled “The 3 Wars Of The Apocalypse” that was featured in a book that I published last year. I know that virtually everyone in the U.S. is really focused on the upcoming election at the moment, but what is going on in the Middle East right now is really big news.

We just witnessed the largest Israeli attack on Iran ever. It is being reported that “dozens of fighter jets” were involved in a massive operation that struck targets all over Iran and Syria…

Dozens of fighter jets hit ballistic missile factories, air defense batteries and missile launchers. Israel launched a simultaneous attack on military targets in central and southern Syria. Among the pilots and navigators involved in the Iran strikes were a number of women, praised by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for their bravery.

It is thought the secret research base near Tehran was developing ‘kamikaze drone’ technology, designed to loiter over a target until instructed to attack.

According to Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari, the Israelis now have “broader aerial freedom of operation in Iran”, and this will make it easier for the IDF the next time it becomes necessary to strike the Iranians…

Israel’s first open attack on Iran targeted missile production facilities and air defense systems, the military said Saturday, tempering fears of a broader foray but giving Israeli aircraft the ability to operate more freely in Iranian skies as the region entered a new phase of escalation.

“Israel now has broader aerial freedom of operation in Iran,” an Israeli military spokesman, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, said in a statement after the attack concluded. The remarks signaled Israel’s willingness to strike Iran in the future, even as Israeli officials said the attacks were tailored to minimize casualties and allow Iran to deny major damage.

The Biden administration is trying to play down the size and scope of the Israeli operation, and Joe Biden is desperately hoping that the Iranians will choose not to respond…

“It looks like they didn’t hit anything other than military targets,” President Joe Biden, speaking to reporters in Philadelphia, said of the Israeli strikes. “I hope that this is the end.”

We should all hope that this is the end of it.

But it appears that the Iranians have already made their decision.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Iran has “vowed revenge” and that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is using the phrase “no limits” to describe what Iran might do…

Iran vowed revenge yesterday after Israel’s missile blitz on Tehran destroyed up to 20 key military sites, including a top-secret research facility.

Foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran had ‘no limits’ in defending its interests and was obliged to take retaliatory action.

Those are very strong words.

And we are being told that Araghchi has already delivered a letter to the United Nations that declares that Iran has the right to respond to the Israeli attack…

Iran’s top diplomat has condemned Israel’s unprecedented attack on multiple military sites across the Islamic Republic and has asserted Tehran’s right to respond to the latest escalation amid a year-long Middle East conflict in a letter obtained by Newsweek.

The letter was attributed to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and sent Saturday to United Nations (U.N.) Secretary-General António Guterres and U.N. Security Council President Pascale Christine Baeriswyl via Iranian Permanent Representative to the U.N. Amir Saeid Iravani.

According to Araghchi, Iran “reserves its inherent right to legal and legitimate response to these criminal attacks at the appropriate time”.

To me, it sounds like the Iranians do not plan to respond immediately.

But a response is definitely coming.

And the Israelis have already warned that they will hit Iran again if the Iranians strike back.

So this is it.

The big war between Israel and Iran is here.

Of course the big war between Israel and Hezbollah has already been raging.

In recent days, fierce fighting in southern Lebanon has resulted in a substantial number of Israeli casualties…

Ten Israeli soldiers were killed and at least 28 more wounded to varying degrees amid heavy battles against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, Israel Defense Forces announced Thursday and Friday.

The soldiers were killed in three separate incidents in just over 24 hours. Since the start of the ground offensive in Lebanon, 27 soldiers have fallen amid the heavy fighting.

In the most recent incident, five reservists serving in the 8th Hazaken Brigade’s 89th Battalion were killed, and 19 others were wounded, with four in serious condition, when a Hezbollah rocket struck a supply point at a building in a southern Lebanese village.

We aren’t hearing much about this from the big news networks in the United States, are we?

If they give too much attention to what is going on in the Middle East right now, that could make Kamala Harris and the Biden administration look bad, and so they are being pretty quiet about it.

The big news networks in the United States are also being pretty quiet about the stunning Russian advances that are happening in eastern Ukraine…

With Russia advancing at the fastest rate in eastern Ukraine since the first months of the invasion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has been pleading with the West to allow Kyiv to fire deep into Russia with Western missiles.

The Biden administration’s plan for the war in Ukraine has completely and utterly failed.

Billions and billions and billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars have been poured into that war, but the Russians are still winning.

In fact, the Russians are gobbling up more territory with each passing day.

And now the Middle East is on the verge of erupting in flames.

We were warned about these wars way in advance, but most people still aren’t paying much attention.

What will it take before most of the population finally starts waking up?

Last week, my article was titled “Not an Isolated Incident.”

The title came from a letter signed by signed by 85 retired U.S. generals and admirals who said:

7 (the Hamas attack on Israel) is not an isolated incident but one front in a much larger global civilizational struggle.

It is my belief (and I think it is theirs):

That the Hamas attack on Israel is part of an effort by radical Islamic terrorists to create a one-world government and religion under a Shiite Muslim ruler.
That Israel – the so-called Little Satan – is not just fighting for its existence.
Israel is also fighting for the existence of the U.S. – the so-called Great Satan – and the rest of the world.

On Oct. 10, 2024, RAIR Foundation USA posted an article by Investigative Journalist Amy Mek that said:

On Monday (Oct. 7, 2024, the one-year anniversary of the Oct 7 attack), a group of imams from across the U.S. published an open letter endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.
But this endorsement isn’t simply about political preference—it’s a calculated move within a broader strategy to further an Islamic expansionist agenda in American politics.
The imams’ endorsement of Harris is just the latest move in a larger game of political chess aimed at embedding Islamic governance into the fabric of the United States.
If left unchecked, this growing alliance between Islamic leaders and the far left will threaten both U.S. security and the freedoms Americans hold dear. The ultimate goal isn’t just political influence—it’s a transformation of the United States into a society where Islamic law dominates, and the very fabric of American life is fundamentally altered.

85 retired U.S. generals and admirals recently posted a letter that said Oct. 7 is not an isolated incident but one front in a much larger global civilizational struggle (a fight for the existence of the U.S.).

(My opinion: The upcoming election won’t stop Islam from trying to transform the world into a radical Islamic caliphate, but the U.S. Imams are supporting Harris because they believe they will make more and faster progress under a Harris presidency than they will under a Trump presidency.)

(FYI: Some church members in my area are meeting for prayer on the night before the election not to pray that the Republicans will win or that the Democrats will win but to pray for God’s will to be done.)

Here are some recent articles that seem to indicate that the end of the age is near:

One, on Oct. 17, 2024, the Times of Israel reported that Israel’s Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, confirmed that Israeli troops have killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. Katz said, “This is a great military and moral achievement for Israel and a victory for the entire free world against the evil axis of radical Islam led by Iran.”

(More: It was reported that Sinwar was killed by tank fire in Rafah on Oct. 16, 2024, and Israeli troops found his body on a pile of rubble in a destroyed building when they inspected the scene on Oct. 17th. Troops waited a day before inspecting the scene while specialists made sure the building wasn’t booby-trapped. Officials confirmed Sinwar’s death by matching his teeth to his dental records. They are running DNA and other tests to confirm it. No hostages were found, but a negotiator for Hamas said the hostages will not be released until Israel stops attacking Gaza and withdraws its forces.)

(More: Israel’s Defense Min. turned to Scripture where God said, “You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall before you;” see Lev. 26:7. Later, he said Sinwar didn’t die as a commander. Sinwar died beaten, persecuted, and on the run.)

(FYI: Yahya Sinwar had a brother named Mohammed Sinwar, and there is speculation that Mohammed Sinwar is the heir apparent to Yahya.)

(My opinion: When Sinwar ordered the invasion of Israel, he had no idea that he would die (right arm blown off below his elbow and then shot in the head) slightly more than a year later. A renowned leader – or anyone else – mortally wounded, suffering, knowing that he will likely die, dying alone and surrounded by rubble like Sinwar is a sad picture, but dying without Jesus as one’s Saviour is worse. Yes, he was evil, perhaps demon-possessed, but his eternal suffering will be worse.)

(My opinion: Biden, Harris, and many world leaders pressured Israel to not attack Rafah. Sinwar was spotted – but not identified – walking the streets of Rafah and entering the building where he was killed. Several world leaders are now saying Sinwar’s death is good for the world and the Palestinians. But if Netanyahu had yielded to the pressure from Biden, Harris, and those world leaders, Sinwar would probably still be alive, crushing dissent in Gaza, beating and killing Palestinians, stealing their humanitarian aid, brainwashing their children, etc.)

(More: On Oct. 17, 2024, Israel said it will keep Sinwar’s body at a secret location to be used as a bargaining chip in a hostage deal.)

(My opinion: The U.S., which can’t seem to win a war, needs to learn from Israel who can’t lose a war because Jehovah is helping them.)

Two, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on Oct. 17, 2024, U.S. long-range B52 stealth bombers struck 5 Houthi underground bunkers and weapons storage locations in Yemen. The U.S. has not commented on how much damage was done but said it is not likely that anyone was killed.

Three, concerning a new world currency and a cashless society: at the upcoming BRICS summit on Oct. 22-24, 2024, Russia is planning to ask the BRICS nations (9 member nations and 15 other nations) to collaborate with it to overhaul the global financial system and end the dominance of the U.S. dollar.

Their new system would use blockchain technology to store and transfer digital tokens backed by national currencies.

Digital money requires a digital I.D. that can be tracked.

Four, concerning the upcoming election: on Oct. 16, 2024, Michael Snyder said if Trump wins, then Kamala Harris will oversee the certification of his win.

Five, concerning anti-Semitism and all nations being against Israel at the end of the age: prophecy expert Amir Tsarfati wrote:

In a surprise to no one, the United Nations is actively working against Israel again in a war zone.
In Gaza, it was in the guise of UNRWA, a “humanitarian” branch of the U.N., which was forced to admit that some of its members helped Hamas during and after the October 7 massacre.
Now, in Lebanon, it’s the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) who are actively helping Hezbollah by allowing themselves to serve as human shields.

(More: On Oct. 20, 2024, a former U.N. peacekeeper who served in the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNSTO) said UNIFIL is “totally subject to Hezbollah.”

Six, concerning the Biden administration’s relationship with Israel: on Oct. 18, 2024, an Iranian-linked Telegram channel in the Middle East posted 2 classified documents outlining Israel’s preparations for a potential strike on Iran.

According to the Iranian-linked Telegram channel, it received the classified documents from U.S. intelligence sources. U.S. intelligence officials did not deny that the documents are authentic. This is just the latest of several instances of U.S. officials leaking information to Iran.

(More: On Oct. 20, 2024, House Speaker Mike Johnson confirmed that the U.S. is now investigating the leak, so the story is true, but experience shows that the U.S. investigating itself never accomplishes very much.)

(Question: The goal of Islam is to ultimately transform the world – including the U.S. – into a global Islamic caliphate. So why is the Biden-Harris administration releasing billions of dollars to Iran, demanding that Israel not attack Iran’s oil wells and nuclear facilities, and leaking classified information on Israel’s preparations for an attack on Iran to the Iranians?)

(Question: Iran recently tried to assassinate Israeli Prime Min. Netanyahu; the U.S. claims that Israel is our most important ally in the Middle East; the U.S. knows that Iran is funding and arming terrorists – Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis – so why is the U.S. leaking classified information to Iran?)

(Question: If the U.S. is going to leak classified information to Iran, how can Israel or any other nation on earth trust the U.S.?)

(More: On Oct. 22, 2024, a senior Pentagon source said an Iranian American working in the office of the U.S. Sec. of Defense leaked the classified information. The employee has been accused of leaking information to Iran in the past, but another Pentagon source said the employee is not a person of interest at this time.)

Seven, concerning anti-Semitism in the U.S. and America becoming a curse to Israel: the Biden administration has threatened to embargo arms shipments to Israel in 30 days if Israel doesn’t let the U.N. deliver more humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.

Tsarfati speculated that Israel’s conversation with the U.S. went something like this:

Israel: “You realize that Hamas steals all the humanitarian aid, then sells the little they don’t use themselves to the people.”

Washington: “Not our problem.”

Israel: “The only reason people are at risk is that Hamas uses their own people as human shields.”

Washington: “Not our problem.”

Israel: “Besides, there shouldn’t be any civilians there anyway. We’ve warned them over and over to get out of there because we have to come in to reach Hamas.”

Washington: “Interesting. Not our problem.”

Israel does not have enough weapons (and Israel can’t produce enough weapons fast enough) for an all-out war with Hezbollah and Iran. Israel cannot risk getting into an all-out war with a U.S. arms embargo going on. The U.N., U.S., E.U., and others seem to be on the side of Israel’s enemies.

(My opinion: Israel is being forced to rely on God, and that is enough.)

(More: Hamas terrorists murdered 46 Americans and took 12 as hostages on Oct. 7, 2023. Since that time, the Biden administration has given more than $1 billion in aid to the Palestinians who support what the terrorists did.)

(More: On Oct. 21, 2024, it was reported that a Wall Street Journal says Sinwar told Hamas negotiators outside Gaza to reject a hostage deal because the Biden-Harris administration was beginning to turn on Israel.)

Eight, concerning an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters at the end of the age (and the sea and waves roaring; Luke 21:25): while hurricane Milton was battering Florida on Oct. 9, 2024, 15 tornadoes (the most one-day total in recorded history) struck.

This was more than double the old record of 7.

(More: On Oct. 21, 2024, it was reported that Helene and Milton were 2 of the most destructive hurricanes in history, and each one caused more than $50 billion worth of damage. If it is true, the damage is historic. The Florida citrus crop has been severely impacted.)

Nine, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog (Russia, Turkey, Iran, and others invading Israel in the latter years and latter days): Israel believes a suicide bomber accidentally blew himself up near Tel Aviv on Aug. 18, 2024. An investigation of the bomber and the incident found that the bomber was a member of a Hamas group in Israel that is funded and directed by Turkey. The group was operating in Israel with Turkish President Erdogan’s blessings, and several members of the group have been arrested.

Ten, concerning the desire of religious Jews to rebuild the Temple: on Oct. 18, 2024, it was reported that Jewish priests dressed in Biblically mandated clothing recently ascended the Temple Mount, prayed, and recited the priestly blessing over Jewish visitors there.

Eleven, concerning a departing from the faith at the end of the age: on Oct. 18, 2024, when Kamala Harris started promoting abortion at an indoor campaign rally in Wisconsin, 2 Christian students interrupted her by shouting, “Christ is King” and “Jesus is Lord.” One of the students held up a cross that he was wearing around his neck.

Harris responded, “You guys are at the wrong rally. No, I think you meant to go to the smaller one down the street.” The students were heckled, mocked, and escorted out of the building.

Twelve, concerning the existence of believers at the end of the age: on Oct. 20, 2024, it was reported that J.D Vance was recently holding a campaign rally in Wisconsin, and he was interrupted by an attendee who shouted, “Jesus is King.”

Vance responded, “That’s right. Jesus is King.”

When asked about it, Vance said he was met with applause.

Thirteen, concerning potential corruption in the upcoming presidential election: on Oct. 17, 2024, it was reported that there are fewer than 8 million voting-age people in Michigan (a vital battleground state) but about 8.4 million people are registered to vote.

The Republican National Committee is suing the Democratic Sec. of State for refusing to clean up the list as required by state law.

(More: On Oct. 21, 2024, it was reported that 31,000 mail-in ballots have been requested at ineligible addresses in Wisconsin. According to the report, this is happening in many states, but it is worse in swing states. This appears to be a coordinated effort to cast thousands of votes in the name of people who are deceased, have permanently left the state, etc. The question is, who is doing it?)

(More: On Oct. 21, 2024, it was reported that a non-partisan election integrity group has filed 9 federal lawsuits to try to secure honest elections.)

(More: On Oct. 23, 2024, it was reported that a Democrat operative in Montana has been videoed by a surveillance camera tampering with an election ballot drop box. The video has been turned over to county law enforcement officials.)

Fourteen, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on Oct. 20, 2024, Gateway Pundit reported that Zelensky told the West to admit Ukraine into NATO immediately or Ukraine will build a nuclear weapon for use against Russia. It was reported that Ukraine voluntarily gave up its nuclear weapons in the 1990s.

According to the article, many people don’t believe Ukraine can build a nuclear weapon in a matter of weeks, but they believe Zelensky is trying to scare NATO into doing more to defend Ukraine against Russia.

Fifteen, concerning world government and a borderless world: on Oct. 21, 2024, it was reported that a caravan of about 2,000 immigrants is headed to the U.S. border to get across before Trump is elected.

Sixteen, concerning world government: on Oct. 23, 2024, Vladimir Putin told the BRICS Summit an irreversible multipolar world order is being formed.

(My opinion: This isn’t the prophesied New World Order, but it may be a big step in that direction. Multipolar indicates several groups of nations, and I am expecting 10 to emerge at the end of the age.)

Seventeen, concerning a new world currency: several nations are in the process of trying to dethrone the dollar right now as I am writing this.

The threat is so great, former Pres. Trump said in September:

We will keep the U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency, and it is currently under major siege; many countries are leaving the dollar.
They’re not gonna leave the dollar with me.
I’ll say, “You leave the dollar, you’re not doing business with the United States because we’re gonna put 100% tariffs on your goods.”

My opinion: Time will tell, but we know that there will be a one-world trackable currency during the Tribulation Period.)

Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024 (Day 376) The three hundred and twenty-first day of the resumed war. Day 154 of the attack on Rafah.

Netanyahu said Israel has found state-of-the-art Russian weapons at captured Hezbollah bases in Lebanon.
The Palestinian Authority (P.A.) is trying to have Israel expelled from the U.N. General Assembly.
Israel assassinated the Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon.
Israel struck an underground facility that stored Hezbollah strategic weapons.
Sinwar may be dead.

Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024 (Day 377) The three hundred and twenty-second day of the resumed war. Day 155 of the attack on Rafah.

Concerning Sinwar’s death, Hezbollah vowed to escalate the war in Lebanon.

Friday, Oct. 18, 2024 (Day 378) The three hundred and twenty-third day of the resumed war. Day 156 of the attack on Rafah.

Israeli troops destroyed an underground Hezbollah command and control center.
Israel’s military believes it has killed at least 1500 Hezbollah terrorists since the start of the conflict.
The U.S. said Hamas, as it is today, is incapable of repeating the Oct. 7 attack.
Israel warned Hamas not to kill the remaining hostages.

Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 (Day 379) The three hundred and twenty-fourth day of the resumed war. Day 157 of the attack on Rafah.

Hezbollah sent a drone to assassinate Netanyahu at his home, but he and his wife were not there; the drone hit nearby, did minor damage and cracked a bedroom window, but no one was hurt. An Israeli official said, “Iran tried to assassinate the prime minister of Israel.”
Israel said Iran will pay a price for trying to assassinate Netanyahu.
Israel dropped leaflets on southern Gaza that contained a picture of Sinwar’s body and said Hamas will no longer rule Gaza.
Following the death of Sinwar, the highest living member of Hamas met with officials of Iran and Turkey in Turkey.

Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024 (Day 380) The three hundred and twenty-fifth day of the resumed war. Day 158 of the attack on Rafah.

Hezbollah fired 160 rockets from Lebanon into Israel. Several people have been injured, but it is too early to say how many.
The new head of Hezbollah in Lebanon has moved to Iran for fear that Israel will assassinate him.
Tens of thousands of Jews gathered at the Western Wall in Jerusalem to pray for the safety of IDF soldiers and security personnel, the quick return of the hostages, the recovery of the wounded, and peace and security (peace and safety) for Israel.

Monday, Oct. 21, 2024 (Day 381) The three hundred and twenty-sixth day of the resumed war. Day 159 of the attack on Rafah.

Yesterday and today, Israeli jets attacked an illegal banking group in a Beirut suburb 11 times because they were laundering money to finance Hezbollah.
Captured Hezbollah soldiers told Israeli interrogators Hezbollah is collapsing.
Israel estimates that they have already destroyed 70% of Hezbollah’s firepower.
The THAAD battery that the U.S. sent to Israel to shoot down medium-range missiles from Iran has been deployed and is operating.

Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024 (Day 382) The three hundred and twenty-seventh day of the resumed war. Day 160 of the attack on Rafah.

Poking the Apple of God’s Eye

American mainstream news and entertainment media have degenerated in public trustworthiness to the lowest point in their history, according to those who assess such matters. Talk-show radio hosts such as Dan Bongino call these the most corrupt institutions in the nation.

I don’t know the accuracy of such pronouncements. However, I can observe, as can you, that these support most every issue and movement that is in obvious opposition to godliness while we survey today’s current political and moral landscape.

And, speaking of politics in this volatile political season, the media leviathans are in league with one political party in most every sense—i.e., they seem to take the party’s talking points and march in lockstep while demonizing their opponent for the office of president. As a matter of fact, they have melded with that party in generating an insane hatred for the opposition candidate, which, in my opinion, has engendered two assassination attempts, with a number of others reportedly in the making.

The mainstream media and the Democrat Party purport to champion the well-being and improvement in lifestyle of black families and their children. All the while, they accuse the other party and proponents of conservative American values of being Nazi-like and racist. Yet they, themselves, fanatically push for abortion that murders African-American babies in their mothers’ wombs at the rate of 40 percent of all babies aborted each year in the nation.

This cabal of media and political wickedness pushes for legalization and federal funding of programs that teach aberrant and perverse transgender ideology and demand physical mutilation as well. They champion Sodom-like activity in society and culture, bringing the nation into a quagmire of anti-God immorality that will bring God’s judgment.

All this said, it shouldn’t be surprising that there is a mainstream media push that confronts the Creator Himself with a challenge that is perhaps the most dangerous yet. And I mean dangerous to the media morons doing the challenging.

This is what is meant by the title of the commentary: “Poking the Apple of God’s Eye.”

CBS, a major news network, has openly defied the Creator by telling us—and Him—that the city of Jerusalem no longer is to belong to Israel. That’s right; Jerusalem is now to be considered not a part of God’s chosen nation. The following enlightens further on this declaration:

CBS News is facing backlash after an internal memo instructed journalists not to refer to Jerusalem as part of Israel, igniting criticism from media figures and raising concerns about journalistic integrity. The memo, sent by CBS News senior director of standards Mark Memmott in late August, emphasized the disputed status of Jerusalem, despite its recognition as Israel’s capital by the US government.

This directive, alongside internal tensions sparked by an interview conducted by CBS Mornings co-host Tony Dokoupil on anti-Israel perspectives, has fueled controversy both within CBS and across the media landscape.

Memmott’s email advised CBS News staff to avoid saying Jerusalem is in Israel, noting that “the status of Jerusalem goes to the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.” While the US embassy is in Jerusalem, and the Trump administration formally recognized it as Israel’s capital in 2017, the memo emphasized that its status is disputed. Israel considers Jerusalem its “eternal and undivided” capital, while Palestinians claim East Jerusalem—captured by Israel during the 1967 war—as the capital of a future Palestinian state.

The directive sparked outrage across social media and among journalists. Adam Rubenstein, contributing editor at The Free Press, stated, “Standards desks are now instructing journalists to deny reality.” Fox News contributor Guy Benson responded, “Jerusalem is not only in Israel, it is the capital of Israel. What on earth is happening at CBS?” Washington Examiner senior writer David Harsanyi added, “Then we can stop referring to CBS employees as journalists.” (“CBS memo sparks outrage: Journalists instructed not to acknowledge Jerusalem as part of Israel,” Jerusalem Post staff, October 11, 2024)

It shouldn’t be surprising that Satan has influenced the institutions of journalism to poke God in the apple of His eye at this point in the stage being set for the time of Daniel’s seventieth week and Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7). Here’s what the Lord has to say about the matter of His holy city of Jerusalem that helps explain why the above offends the Creator of all things in ways we can’t fully fathom.

I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand. Then said I, whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof. And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him, And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein: For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her. Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me. Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD. And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee. (Zechariah 2: 1-11)

Jerusalem is the city God has made His own. The Temple Mount at its center is the touchstone between God in Heaven and humanity where the veil was rent from top to bottom upon Christ’s death as sacrifice for humankind’s sin. It is a fearfully dangerous matter to declare you are determined to rip Jerusalem from the Almighty’s Hand.

Jerusalem Is the Capital of Israel…. And It’s Not Just a Matter of Opinion

This may be a silly question to ask, but is Jerusalem in Israel, or is it in Palestine?

What language is considered the official language of Palestine? Is it Hebrew or Arabic?

What is the official currency in Palestine? Is it the Jordanian dinar, is it the Egyptian pound, or is it the Israeli Shekel? Currently, the Bank of Jordan, the Arab Bank, and the Cairo Amman Bank all dispense money in Jordanian dinars.

What about the legal system in Palestine? Is there a court system? If so, who governs it? The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) represents Palestinians on the international level, but locally, the Palestinian Authority (P.A.) oversees the citizens in Gaza and the West Bank. Fatah governs these areas.

I ask all this because trying to divide Jerusalem or to separate Jerusalem from Israel is a much more complicated topic than I believe many understand. Yet, many people, including the United Nations, wish to do this.

The Land of Palestine

Some social media users have posted claims that Yasser Arafat was the first person to ever refer to the land of Israel as Palestine. Those posts may be someone’s opinion, but what is the history behind Palestine? Are you aware that the word “Palestine” is not Arab or Middle Eastern in origin? It dates back almost 1,900 years when, in 135 A.D., the Roman Emperor Hadrian, out of spite because of a Jewish revolt, changed the name of a Roman province from Judea to Palestine. It came from the word Philistines, who were Israel’s enemies. So, out of spite, the Roman Emperor referred to the Israelite’s homeland as the land of their enemy. I guess some things never change!

When the Roman Emperor did this, those “Palestinians” were Christians, Jews, and Muslims. They were people of any ethnic or religious affiliation. The term Palestine did not describe any one ethnic or religious group. In fact, for decades, it was common for the international press to call those living in Palestine Jews, not Arabs.

CBS News

Now 76 years removed from 1948, the year Israel was recognized as a state, the term Palestine is once again causing a stir. The New York Post recently reported that a CBS News executive, the network’s senior director of standards and practices, emailed all CBS employees telling them ‘Do not refer to Jerusalem as being in Israel.” The Post reported the email reminded all CBS News employees to “be careful with some terms when we talk or write about the news from Israel and Gaza.”

It is being reported that this note sent to thousands of journalists at the network said: “Yes, the U.S. embassy is there, and the Trump administration recognized it as being Israel’s capital. But its status is disputed. The status of Jerusalem goes to the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Israel regards Jerusalem as its ‘eternal and undivided’ capital, while the Palestinians claim East Jerusalem—occupied by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war—as the capital of a future state.”

Declining to refer to Jerusalem as Israel’s capital is one thing but denying that it is in Israel is crazy. Jerusalem is where the Israeli Knesset—its Parliament—is located. Jerusalem is where Israel’s prime minister lives. Jerusalem is where Israel’s President lives. This would be like saying Washington, D.C. is not in the United States. It makes no sense.

The 104th Congress of the United States of America

And this is not just a matter of opinion. On October 23, 1995, the 104th Congress of the United States of America passed the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995. The Senate, by a vote of 93-5 in favor of and the U.S. House, by a vote of 374-37, in favor of, adopted S.1322—the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995. Public Law – 104th Congress

An act to provide for the relocation of the United States Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled.

SECTION 1: This Act may be cited as the “Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995.”

SECTION 2: FINDINGS. The Congress makes the following findings:

(1) Each sovereign nation, under international law and custom, may designate its own capital.

(2) Since 1950, the city of Jerusalem has been the capital of the State of Israel.

(3) The city of Jerusalem is the seat of Israel’s President, Parliament, and Supreme Court and the site of numerous government ministries and social and cultural institutions.

(4) The city of Jerusalem is the spiritual center of Judaism and is also considered a holy city by the members of other religious faiths.

(5) From 1948–1967, Jerusalem was a divided city, and Israeli citizens of all faiths, as well as Jewish citizens of all states, were denied access to holy sites in the area controlled by Jordan.

(6) In 1967, the city of Jerusalem was reunited during the conflict known as the Six Day War.

(7) Since 1967, Jerusalem has been a united city administered by Israel, and persons of all religious faiths have been guaranteed full access to holy sites within the city.

Act S.1322 states that Jerusalem should remain a united city, be recognized as the capital of the State of Israel, and have the U.S. Embassy moved there from Tel Aviv no later than May 31, 1999.

The Act was passed on October 23, 1995, and became law on November 8, 1995. The measure includes a stipulation allowing the President to issue a waiver every six months to keep the embassy in Tel Aviv if he determines and reports to Congress that such a move is necessary to protect the United States national security interests. President Barack Obama issued his final waiver preventing the move during his administration on December 1, 2016.

Presidential Proclamation – Federal Register Vol. 82, No. 236

A Presidential Proclamation was issued on December 6, 2017, recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of the State of Israel and acknowledging the relocating of the United States Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This proclamation was issued by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump. This Presidential document can be found on the Federal Register.

Jerusalem is the Capital of Israel

We have the 104th Congress of the United States recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the 45th President of the United States recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and more importantly, the God of creation recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. But now, apparently, a major U.S. network, wanting to inform the American audience, is telling its staff not to refer to Jerusalem as being in Israel.

I must wonder at what point will God say, “Enough!” No one knows the day or the hour, nor should anyone try to put a date on acts of God. I understand God is patient, and I understand He is sovereign, and nothing happens without His hand of approval. But I also know that the day will come when God says, “Enough!”

People need to decide which side you want to be on. It’s to the point that America is becoming as ungodly as any pagan nation from days gone by. God is very clear in His word how He has responded and how He will respond to nations that abuse and neglect the apple of His eye—Israel.

I have said for a while that America has reached the point of no return. I say that as a nation, I still believe there is hope for individuals. But now you have a major television network proclaiming they will no longer recognize Jerusalem as being part of Israel. I’m afraid to ask what’s next.

Daily Jot: The Glory Cloud and Living Water

Many try to predict the return of the Lord, which we are told by Jesus that only the Father knows. The Jewish holidays, however, inform our expectations. Sukkot and dwelling in a sukkah, for example, is a beautiful picture of God’s presence in the “Glory Cloud.” We are surrounded by His sukkah at all times, just as David prayed in Psalm 139:7, “Where can I flee from your presence?” And yet there is fulfillment yet to come when God will dwell—sukkah–with His people bodily! Jesus said of Himself in Matthew 24:30, “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, all the tribes of the Land will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with tremendous power and glory.”

This is the same “Glory Cloud” that followed the Israelites in the desert and will be the fulfillment of Sukkot at the end of days. Isn’t it interesting that many of the Jewish sages believe Messiah will come during Sukkot? In the meantime, we make a sukkah-dwelling place for the Lord–in our hearts. On the last day of Sukkot is Hoshanna Rabbah, or Simchat Bet Ha’Shoeivah, “Celebration of Water Drawing.” The High Priest would take a golden pitcher to the Pool of Siloam in a great procession back to the Temple and bringing some of the water to pour upon the altar. The Siloam Pool was located adjacent to the City of David, and was fed by the Gihon Spring located in the Kidron Valley. The naturally flowing water qualified it to be used as a mikveh for ritual bathing. This is where Jesus healed the blind man (John 9:1-11).

The location of the Pool of Siloam was a mystery until it was excavated in 2004, giving further credibility to the Scriptures. The metaphor of Living Water is found many places in scripture. In John 4:13, Jesus told the woman at the well, “Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never be thirsty again! On the contrary, the water I give him will become a spring of water inside him, welling up to eternal life!” This metaphor is also expounded upon by the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:4 speaking of Jesus as providing this life in the desert “…and they all drank the same drink from the Spirit-sent Rock which followed them, and that Rock was the Messiah.” The Spirit is life-giving like water, springing up and out of those who put their faith in the Son.

Simchat Torah, Joy of the Torah, is a fitting end to the High Holy Days of Israel, occurring the day after the last day of Sukkot. This is where the people dance with the Torah Scroll in joy, no matter what is occurring in their lives. On October 25th, there was dancing and joy in the midst of a war in Israel as God’s word transcends the events in this world. This also marks the end of the weekly reading of the Torah portions. They end without an ending. Much like the journey of the Jewish people, they can see the end of the journey, like Moses, but the journey is not yet completed. The weekly Torah readings begin again with the first chapter of Genesis. In these weekly readings, we continue to increase our understanding of our God as His Holy Spirit surrounds us in the Glory Cloud and His Living Water renews us each day even unto eternity.

Daily Devotion: Loneliness

There is an epidemic of loneliness sweeping our nation. Social media hasn’t made us more sociable. It’s made us less sociable and more dysfunctional. It seems like many of us don’t even know how to have a conversation with each other anymore. I read that millennials prefer texting over talking in person. And I think we’ve forgotten how to interact with one another. Research reveals that more than one-third of adults struggle with loneliness. And loneliness and isolation create health risks, including anxiety, depression, and illnesses such as heart disease and dementia.[1] Yet they have found that one or two friendships can dramatically decrease loneliness.

An article on the Vox News site stated that 12 percent of Americans have no close friendships, compared with 3 percent in 1990.[2] The article concluded that we, as a society, have atomized. We’re working, shopping, and socializing online. Our phones have become the primary portal through which we view the outside world. That’s not good.

We’re missing something vital in our lives. We all need living, breathing friends, not anonymous people we play video games with across the planet. Not people who comment on our posts. We need human interaction. We’re not meant to do life alone.

God created us this way. In Genesis, after God made so many amazing things, He said, “This is good.” But when He saw the aloneness of man, God said, “This isn’t good.” So, He created Eve. The same holds true today. It’s not good for any of us to be alone. We need friends.

Not casual acquaintances but people who give us priority in their lives. People who care about what happens to us. People who want the best for us. People who will speak the truth to us in love.

Perhaps the best-known friendship in the Bible is the one between David and Jonathan, as recorded in 1 and 2 Samuel. They were loyal to each other. They looked out for each other. They risked their lives for each other. Not even the murderous rage of Jonathan’s father, Saul, toward David could interfere with their friendship.

Where can such friends be found today? You may be surprised to learn that several potential close friends are already in your circle of acquaintances. And the way to find a Jonathan among them is to be a David. Model the kind of friendship you’re looking for. Take the initiative to deepen your casual conversations. Ask questions. Show concern. Offer encouragement, support, and a listening ear. Share some personal things of your own. Make yourself vulnerable. Be patient through the awkward stages. Learn to enjoy each other’s company. And pray. Ask God to help you be the kind of friend who makes a difference in other people’s lives. And ask Him to bring difference-making friends into your life.
