Israel And Hamas Accept Trump Admin Peace Agreement Ending the War; All Hostages to Be Released

The terrorist organization Hamas has agreed to a peace deal with Israel, drawn up by the Trump administration, which will end the war in Gaza and see the release of all Israeli hostages (living and deceased).

President Trump announced on Truth Social Wednesday evening that both parties have approved the agreement, later telling Fox News’ Sean Hannity that the hostages could be released as early as Monday.

“I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan,” the President wrote. “This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace.”

“All Parties will be treated fairly!” he continued. “This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen. BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!”

The announcement comes on the second anniversary of Israel’s official declaration of war, which had not been done since the Yom Kippur War of 1973. This declaration occurred one day after thousands of Palestinian terrorists invaded southern Israel, ferociously massacring 1,200 and kidnapping hundreds of Israelis on October 7th, 2023. Israel began targeting Hamas, a terror proxy of the Iranian regime, through airstrikes, warning civilians to evacuate before the commencement of the IDF ground operation in Gaza on October 27th, 2023.

The situation quickly developed into a multifront war with Iran and its proxies. Over the last two years, Israel effectively decimated this Iranian “ring of fire,” largely eliminating the capabilities of proxies and, with the assistance of the United States, obliterating Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

Currently, 48 Israeli hostages remain in Gaza, with approximately 20 determined to still be alive over 700 days into captivity.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the approval of the peace agreement, writing in a statement: “With the approval of the first phase of the plan, all our hostages will be brought home. This is a diplomatic success and a national and moral victory for the State of Israel. From the beginning, I made it clear: we will not rest until all our hostages return and all our goals are achieved. Through steadfast resolve, powerful military action, and the great efforts of our great friend and ally President Trump, we have reached this critical turning point. I thank President Trump for his leadership, his partnership, and his unwavering commitment to the safety of Israel and the freedom of our hostages. God Bless Israel. God Bless America. God Bless our great alliance.”

President Trump’s 21-Point Plan

While Christians should applaud the release of all hostages as a triumphant answer to two years of fervent prayer, questions still remain about the contents of President Trump’s 21-point plan.

The agreement spares the lives of Hamas terrorists, with the plan stipulating: “Hamas members who commit to peaceful coexistence will be granted amnesty, while members who wish to leave the Strip will be granted safe passage to receiving countries.” While it underscores that “Hamas will have no role in Gaza’s governance whatsoever,” this amnesty is a concession for Israel, with the total eradication of Hamas being one of its primary war objectives.

The most concerning portion of the agreement surrounds the future governance of the strip and the establishment of a “credible pathway to Palestinian statehood.” Both points appear to hinge on future Palestinian Authority (PA) “reforms,” which Israel has previously considered impossible due to the hatred of Israel and the rewarding of terrorism against Jews ingrained in the PA.

Until the PA “reforms” Gaza will have a “temporary, transitional government of Palestinian technocrats… supervised by a new international body established by the US in consultation with Arab and European partners.”

“Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza, and the IDF will gradually hand over territory it currently occupies, as the replacement security forces establish control and stability in the Strip,” the agreement adds.

Prophetic Significance and Discernment

These portions of the agreement, especially the pathway to a Palestinian State, are significant and concerning, but Christians must exercise discernment.

God’s Word speaks of a future seven-year-long peace agreement between Israel and her neighbors (Daniel 9:27). This prophetic agreement will be confirmed by “the Antichrist” and commence the beginning of the Tribulation—also known as the Time of Jacob’s Trouble—described in the book of Revelation and elsewhere. This agreement will likely include the construction of the third Jewish temple on the Temple Mount. Most importantly, the Bible is clear that the signing of the Antichrist’s agreement will occur after the rapture of the church. In other words, with the description provided in Scripture, we know with complete certainty that this is not the Antichrist’s seven-year-long “covenant with many.”

That does not mean the agreement announced Wednesday lacks prophetic significance. This 21-point plan could pave the way for the Tribulation agreement; it could also be the means by which Israel will dwell in safety—the condition the Jewish State is described in during the future war detailed in Ezekiel 38 and 39.

Time will tell the extent of the prophetic significance. We can only know with certainty what the Bible explicitly states will happen in the future, and view the developments in the Middle East through the perfect lens of God’s Word.

Our world is undoubtedly and rapidly moving toward the prophetic events described in Scripture. The chess pieces are aligning more closely with every passing day.

How should Christians respond to this agreement?

Praise God for the release of the Israeli hostages. Examine world events with discernment through the lens of the Bible, avoiding conclusions that stray from what God has stated (Acts 17:11). Stand where God stands—in support of Israel and their sovereignty. Lastly, recognize the prophetic season in which we live, with joyful anticipation of Jesus’ soon return (Luke 21:28).

Giving Tomahawk Cruise Missiles to Ukraine Would Be an Absolutely Insane Thing to Do

Do you know why Joe Biden never gave Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine while he was in the White House? Even at such an extremely advanced state of mental decline, Biden still understood that allowing the Ukrainians to have such missiles would put us right on the brink of nuclear war. In addition to supplying the missiles, we would have to supply the delivery platforms, and we would literally have to guide the missiles to their targets. So from Russia’s perspective, these would be American missiles that are fired from American delivery platforms and that are guided to their targets by American personnel. Most of the time, Tomahawk cruise missiles carry conventional warheads, but they were originally designed to also be capable of carrying nuclear warheads. So how would the Russians respond if cruise missiles that are capable of carrying nuclear warheads are suddenly rocketing toward their cities?

The Russians possess the best anti-missile systems in the entire world, but it is inevitable that some Tomahawk cruise missiles would get through because they were designed to be extremely evasive…

The 5.6-metre- (18.4-foot-) long missile has a range of up to approximately 2,400 km (about 1,500 miles) and can travel as fast as 885 km (550 miles) per hour.

Tomahawks are launched vertically from ships, but they can be launched horizontally from torpedo tubes on attack submarines or from external launchers attached to a submarine’s hull. The missile is powered by a solid propellant during its launch phase. Thereafter it is powered by a turbofan engine that does not emit much heat, which makes infrared detection difficult. It can also elude detection by radar because it has a small cross section and operates at low altitudes. Once it reaches land, the Tomahawk uses inertial and terrain-contour-matching (TERCOM) radar guidance, in which a map stored on the missile’s computer is continually compared with the actual terrain to locate the missile’s position relative to the target. Similarly, the target is identified from a stored image. As the TERCOM scans the landscape, the Tomahawk missile is capable of twisting and turning like a radar-evading fighter plane, skimming the landscape at an altitude of only 30–90 metres (100–300 feet).

Can you imagine what would happen if a Tomahawk cruise missile provided by the United States slammed into the Kremlin?

There would be no going back after that.

But the biggest reason why we must not give Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine is because they were originally designed to be able to carry nuclear warheads…

Submarine-launched Tomahawk missiles entered service in 1983 with conventional (i.e., nonnuclear) land-attack and antiship missile variants, as well as with a land-attack missile carrying a nuclear warhead. The nuclear variant has since been retired, and a land-attack cluster-bomb variant that disperses bomblets has been added.

Let me ask you a question.

How would we respond if cruise missiles that are capable of carrying nuclear warheads were heading toward Washington D.C.?

Would we just wait to see what happens when they hit, or would we strike back while they are still in the air?

If you analyze things from that perspective, you will quickly realize why giving Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine would be an absolutely insane thing to do.

Of course the Ukrainians are desperate to get their hands on them, because they know that it will make it much more likely that NATO forces will be dragged into the war.

Joe Biden always refused when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked for Tomahawks, but now Zelensky is hoping that Trump will grant his request…

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that Kyiv is seeking access to the American-made long-range missile, different variants of which have ranges of up to 1,550 miles, according to the Missile Defense Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Russia’s most populous and politically important cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and a host of important air, naval, oil refining and drone production facilities would be within range if the longest-range version of the Tomahawk is supplied to Ukraine.

Six months ago, there is no way that President Trump would have given Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.

Unfortunately, times have changed and President Trump says that he has “sort of made a decision”…

US President Donald Trump said on Monday he is close to deciding on whether to supply Ukraine with Tomahawk long-range missiles, adding that he wanted to see the target list first.

“I sort of made a decision pretty much. I think I want to find out what they’re doing with them, where they’re sending them, I guess. I have to ask that question,” Trump said.

If the American people truly understood what was at stake, they would be going nuts.

We have a very small window of opportunity to avoid war with Russia, and we are totally blowing it.

On Sunday, Vladimir Putin warned that relations between our two countries will be destroyed if the U.S. provides Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles…

“This will lead to the destruction of our relations, or at least the positive trends that have emerged in these relations,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a video clip released on Sunday by Russian state television.

Putin also stated that the introduction of Tomahawk cruise missiles would represent a “qualitatively new stage of escalation”…

Putin warned that the weapons would mark a “qualitatively new stage of escalation” because Ukraine could not fire them without the U.S. personnel. He suggested, however, that Trump would ultimately decide against their provision because he knew how to listen.

President Trump still has time to step back from the brink, because no Tomahawks have been provided to Ukraine yet.

Let’s hope that he is getting some good advice.

Once Tomahawks have arrived in Ukraine, one Russian lawmaker is warning that their response “will be tough, ambiguous, measured, and asymmetrical”…

Andrei Kartapolov, head of the parliament’s defense committee and a former deputy defense minister, said Russia knew how to shoot these missiles down and would target any launchers it detected on Ukrainian soil.

“Our response will be tough, ambiguous, measured, and asymmetrical. We will find ways to hurt those who cause us trouble,” he told the state RIA news agency on Wednesday. “The only problems will be for those who supply them and those who use them; that’s where the problems will be.”

The Russians have already demonstrated what their new Oreshnik missiles can do.

I don’t even want to imagine how much damage they could cause in the heart of Kyiv.

Another Russian lawmaker is suggesting that a major military hub in Poland could be hit if Tomahawks are provided to Ukraine…

Speaking on 60 Minutes, Zhuravlyov, the chairman of the Rodina political party and first deputy chairman of the parliamentary defense committee, said that the U.S. would deliver Tomahawks to Ukraine for strikes on Russian strikes.

He added that Russia needed to show “that we are ready” for an escalation, and that while Moscow was not in conflict with Poland, it would be ready to strike its Rzeszów military hub.

Hopefully that Russian lawmaker is not serious, because an attack on Poland would mean all-out war between Russia and the entire NATO alliance.

We have entered such a dangerous time.

Russian forces have been steadily moving forward, and western leaders have become desperate to do something to alter the trajectory of the conflict. According to Putin, the Russians have taken almost 5,000 square kilometers so far this year…

Putin, addressing a meeting with Russian top military commanders, said Ukrainian forces were retreating in all sectors of the front. He said Kyiv was trying to strike deep into Russian territory, but it would not help it to change the situation in the more than 3 1/2-year-old war.

“At this time, the Russian armed forces fully hold the strategic initiative,” Putin told the meeting in northwestern Russia, according to a Kremlin transcript.

“This year, we have liberated nearly 5,000 square km of territory — 4,900 — and 212 localities.”

I wish that I could talk to both Trump and Putin and explain to them why peace is so important.

With each passing day, we are getting closer to nuclear war.

And if Ukraine starts firing Tomahawk cruise missiles at major Russian cities, we will be right on the verge of the unthinkable.

If we are going to change course before it is too late, now is the time.

The Left Continues to Support Violent Rhetoric - Where Is This All Leading?

The last 12 months have exposed the Left as the protagonist of violence, although today its main stenographers misinform their own audience and remain in denial.

Let’s recall two assassination attempts on presidential candidate Donald Trump, Luigi Mangione’s assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City in December 2024, the bullet that pierced the neck of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the assassination of two Israeli diplomats while the murderer chanted “Free Palestine!” in Washington, D.C.

Let’s also recall the violent trend against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers. In one example on July 4, 2025, a dozen individuals dressed in black clothing and equipped with tactical gear attacked the Prairieland Detention Facility in Alvarado, Texas. We also just witnessed a vehicle ramming attack on ICE vehicles this week and the refusal of the Chicago Police Department to help stop mob violence against ICE agents due to leftists politics.

Despite all of this and the warning that such behavior must stop, leftists continue to endorse Democratic nominee for Attorney General of Virginia, Jay, Jones who has been exposed for wishing death upon Republicans and their children in a vile manner:

The Democrat said that then-Speaker of the House of Delegates Todd Gilbert (R) should get “two bullets to the head.” He also texted that if Republicans like Gilbert “die before me I will go to their funerals to piss on their graves.” In a subsequent phone call with Coyner defending his texted comments, Jones reportedly said that if Gilbert’s wife, Jennifer, had to watch her children be shot and killed then her Republican husband might revise his position on gun control laws. “I’ve told you this before. Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy,” Jones said when pressed by Coyner. “I mean do I think Todd and Jennifer are evil? And that they’re breeding little fascists? Yes.”

Jones is also under fire for another conversation in which he suggested that supposed systemic racism and brutality among police departments might be cured if more police officers were killed in the line of duty.

The events I’ve mentioned reveal a terrible truth: that the extremist charge isn’t found in dark corners of the leftist base, but rather constitutes the very foundation of leftist beliefs.

A YouGov survey conducted immediately after the fatal shooting of Kirk asked if “it is ever justified for citizens to resort to violence in order to achieve political goals.” The results showed that the more liberal respondents were, the more likely they were to say violence can sometimes be justified.

A quarter of respondents who identified as “very liberal” said violence can sometimes be justified to achieve political goals, along with 17% of those who identified as “liberal,” 9% of moderates, 6% of those who said they’re “conservative” and 3% of those who identified as “very conservative.”

Twenty-six percent of liberals under 45 years old, compared with 12% of liberals 45 and older, said political violence can sometimes be justified; 12% of moderates under 45 years old, compared with 6% of moderates 45 and over, said it’s sometimes justified; and 7% of younger conservatives, compared with 4% of older conservatives, said it’s sometimes justified.

At the same time, the Democratic elite, including the mainstream media and several politicians, seem to justify political violence. Examples include Kamala Harris promoting donations to bail violent protesters during the 2020 “Summer of Love” and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) repeating falsehoods about Kirk’s character.

The first step to curbing the problem isn’t creating false equivalencies by saying it’s a “problem on both sides,” because while there may be violence from the other political spectrum, it’s proportionally incomparable right now.

The first step to curbing political violence isn’t shouting to the winds about everyone “turning down the heat.” It’s the Democratic establishment that has unfairly labeled its political opposition as “fascists.” And that label is the key to the structure of permissiveness that justifies violence against conservatives. If “fascism” (defeated militarily, politically, and culturally in World War II, that is) is the representation of Satan for a secular society, then if someone is a “fascist,” ending their life would be justified.

A tentative acceptance of the problem has begun to make its way into media outlets across the left-wing political spectrum. The Atlantic magazine acknowledged that left-wing terrorism has increased since 2016, and that 2025 marks a milestone in that regard.

But to change course, Democratic leaders, strategists, and propagandists (like the addict mired in his own justifications) must accept that they are politically sick, but sick nonetheless. They must commit to shifting their rhetoric away from the constant inflammatory adjectives from platforms like California Governor Gavin Newsom’s (D).

The response from the Right has been exemplary: memorials, mass prayers, a revival of faith.

In response to those who celebrated silencing a man like Kirk who promoted dialogue, conservatives promoted more debate, although the Left continues to react with cancellations and coercion.

YouTuber Steven Crowder recently resumed his debates on college campuses under the slogan “Change My Mind.” It was precisely this format that inspired Kirk for his viral “Prove Me Wrong” videos. However, as a sign of the times, Crowder had to wear a bulletproof vest and hire private security to hold the event.

The Left has a problem. It must acknowledge the violence that is overwhelmingly coming from its ranks today and call on its members to focus on dialogue, not bullets or blows. Otherwise, all the hours, and risks invested by conservatives in debating will be in vain, because there will be no one sitting on the other side of the table.

Anarchy and Apostasy: What Happens When a Blessed Nation Turns Its Back on God?

In 1999, I wrote a book titled, Living for Christ in the End Times. It was published in the year 2000. The subtitle I gave the book was, “Coping with Anarchy and Apostasy.” To my chagrin, the publisher refused to use the subtitle. There was not anything I could do about that because in the book publishing world, publishers have absolute control over cover designs and titles. (In 2015, when we published the second edition, I jerked the book from the publisher and gave the book the subtitle I had desired.)

When I asked the publisher why my subtitle had been refused, I was told that it was “too radical.” When I asked why, I was told that apostasy in the church was not all that bad and that our society was nowhere near anarchy.”

My response was that the subtitle was a prophetic one based on our nation’s rejection of its Judeo-Christian foundation. I had not been given any special revelation by God. My prediction was simply based on what the Scriptures say will happen to a blessed nation that turns its back on God.

Romans Chapter 1

Specifically, Romans 1 says that when a nation starts rebelling against God, He will lower His hedge of protection around the nation and allow sin to multiply. The first manifestation will be a sexual revolution. God will give the nation over in “the lust of their hearts to impurity, that their bodies might be dishonored among them” (Romans 1:24). Our nation experienced this phenomenon in the decade of the 1960s with the Hippie Revolution and its emphasis on ”free love.”

Romans 1 next says that if the nation refuses to repent, God will lower the hedge of protection further, and the result will be a plague of homosexuality. God will give the nation over to “degrading passions,” for the women will “exchange the natural function for that which is unnatural” — and the men will do the same (Romans 1:25-26). Beginning in the 1970s, our nation started experiencing an outbreak of homosexuality and its demand for same-sex marriage and the endorsement of transgenderism.

The final step in God turning our nation over completely to its sins of rebellion occurred when He lowered the hedge a third time, resulting in the nation being turned over to “depraved minds” (Romans 1:28). That is where we are today.

America’s Current Situation

Currently, we are a nation in full scale revolt against our Creator who has been the source of all our national blessings. I am reminded of what Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said when he was asked what happened to Russia that led to 70 years of Communist dictatorship. His response was short and to the point: “We forgot God.”

Our nation is now experiencing both gross apostasy and extreme violence. The Judeo-Christian foundation that held us together for 200 years has evaporated, In 1955, 91% of Americans claimed to be Christians. Today, that number has fallen to 61% —and many, if not most of these, are Cultural Christians only.

Our nation has been fighting a “cold war” for the past 50 years, as pagans have rejected our Judeo-Christian heritage and have increasingly targeted Christians and Jews for persecution.

I suggest that the assassination of Charlie Kirk will one day be viewed as the point at which our cultural “cold war” morphed into an all-out civil war. Increasingly, I believe we are going to find ourselves drowning in both apostasy and anarchy.

Apostasy and Anarchy

Our churches are wallowing in apostasy as they endorse homosexuals as pastors, elders and deacons. They are also accepting and performing same-sex marriages. Some are even conducting drag queen services. The Catholic Church has returned to preaching “works salvation.” Protestants are no better as they are now teaching that there are many roads to God. The latest “State of Theology” poll by Ligonier Ministries revealed that 47% of Evangelicals believe God accepts the worship of all religions and that 53% assert that most people are inherently good. The same poll also reveled that 49% of American adults view Jesus as a great teacher but not God.

On the anarchy scene, the evening news on television every evening is packed with scenes of violent radical groups attacking police officers simply because they are trying to enforce the law. Others are raising money to support murderers, like the one who shot the CEO of United Health and the young man who killed Charlie Kirk. Public opinion polls are showing that increasing numbers are saying that they approve political assassinations. The situation is so bad, that the President is in the process of deploying military troops in our major cities. I truly believe the values of our nation have become so perverted that if a person were to kill President Trump, the assassin would be hailed as a national hero.

It appears that God has turned our nation over to what theologians called “abandonment wrath.” This happens when God steps back, removes his protection over a nation and allows it to destroy itself.

The Future

Our nation is facing a cloud of gloom and doom, but there is a silver lining. Jesus said that in the end times, right before His return, the world will become as evil as it was in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37-39). If you will take a look at the Bible’s description of those days in Genesis 6, you will see that they were characterized by two things: immorality and violence. We have arrived.

And that means Jesus is about to break from the heavens. It’s the reason Adrian Rogers used to preach, “The world is growing gloriously dark.” It is also why Jan Markell often says, “The world is not falling to pieces. Rather, the pieces are all falling into place.”

The cry of my heart is summed up in the words of the prophet Isaiah recorded in chapter 64: “Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, That the mountains might quake at Your presence — As fire kindles the brushwood, as fire causes water to boil— To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence!”

The government shutdown once again exposed a deep divide in American politics—not just in policy, but in tone and intent. On one side, leading Democrats responded with fiery, personal attacks against President Trump. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) claimed Trump “wants to make sure that kids are dying,” while Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) and House Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY) called him “erratic” and “unhinged.” Jeffries labeled Republicans “chaos agents. Senator Cory Booker (NJ) accused Republicans of wanting “to take your healthcare away.” These words aren’t policy debates, they’re emotional grenades meant to demonize political opponents and inflame public anger.

Meanwhile, the Republican explanation for the shutdown is markedly different in tone and substance. GOP leaders argue that Democrats are demanding more than a trillion dollars in restored federal spending for expansive liberal programs and insisting on taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants. These are items they say are unacceptable in a time of record debt and inflation. Their argument focuses on policy priorities and fiscal realities, not personal attacks. They contend the shutdown is the inevitable result of Democrats refusing to compromise on excessive spending and open-border policies that burden taxpayers and undermine national security.

The contrast matters. Emotional rhetoric from powerful leaders can act, as we have seen all too vividly, as a dog whistle to unbalanced individuals already teetering on the edge. Painting Trump as a monster, Republicans as villains, or conservatives as hateful extremists is not just dishonest—it’s dangerous. History, and recent politically motivated violence, shows that inflammatory words can spark real-world violence when amplified by a biased media that repeats and legitimizes them. Instead of debating budgets and policy differences, the Democratic narrative reduces political opponents to enemies of humanity.

That framing turns fellow Americans into targets, not rivals, and in today’s volatile climate, that’s playing with fire. It’s time for the rhetoric to cool down. America needs leaders who will debate ideas rather than incite outrage, who will address disagreements without dehumanizing their opponents. Democrats have been warned repeatedly that their language escalates division and hostility, yet they continue to pour gasoline on the fire. As the Apostle James warned, “The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity… it sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell (James 3:6).” If we are to restore trust, peace, and civility in our republic, it must start with words spoken in truth, not hatred.

Will we recognize one another in Heaven? The short answer is yes, absolutely. Why would we know less in Heaven than we know on earth? In Heaven, we are perfected. We are glorified. Look at the apostle Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 13:12: “Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely” (NLT).

In Heaven, there will be no more mysteries. No more questions. Everything will be resolved. Everything will be known. You will still love your family and friends. In fact, you will love them with a stronger, purer, and sweeter love. Death may break our bonds on earth, but God restores them in Heaven.

We don’t change identities in Heaven. We’ll be the same people there that we are on earth. I’ll still be me. You’ll still be you. But we’ll be perfected versions of ourselves. Without the flaws. Without the shortcomings. Without the sinful tendencies. We’ll be glorified in the presence of God. And we’ll know all things that Scripture says.

Matthew 17 records the Transfiguration of Jesus. He took Peter, James, and John to a high mountain, where they saw Him in His glory. Verse 3 says, “Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared and began talking with Jesus” (NLT). But how did anyone know that it was Moses and Elijah? Those men lived centuries before the events of the New Testament. Do you think Moses was holding two commandment tablets and saying, “Hi, I’m Moses. Recognize these?” Do you think Elijah was calling down fire from Heaven so that he’d be more recognizable? Do you think they were wearing name tags? “Hi! My name is Moses.” I don’t think so.

The point is that even after being called back from glory momentarily to appear with Christ, Moses and Elijah were recognizable. Just as we will be recognizable when we get to Heaven. And it won’t be just your appearance that’s familiar. You’ll have the same thoughts, feelings, and desires that you had on earth. But they’ll all be perfected. You will be the purest version of you in Heaven. So, the people who love you will love you even more.

When Jesus appeared to His frightened disciples after His resurrection, He said, “Why are you frightened? . . . Why are your hearts filled with doubt? Look at my hands. Look at my feet. You can see that it’s really me. Touch me and make sure that I am not a ghost, because ghosts don’t have bodies, as you see that I do” (Luke 24:38–39 NLT). In other words, “You know who I am.”

One of the countless joys of Heaven will be reuniting with our Christian loved ones. One of the challenges of earth is making sure that our loved ones will be in Heaven.
