Why a Pretribulational Rapture?
Tony Campbell - https://www.rev310.net/post/why-a-pretribulational-rapture
This post is not to unveil the chief deficiencies of opposing stances, but to describe the superiority of pretribulationism as taught in major eschatological texts such as Matthew 24–25; 1 Thessalonians 4; 1 Corinthians 15; and Revelation 3, 6–18. It is not the weight of a single reason that makes pretribulationism so compelling, but instead the combined force of all the lines of reasoning.
What Does “Rapture” Mean?
The English noun/verb “rapture” comes from the Latin noun raptura/verb rapio which is used 14 times in the NT. The basic idea of the word is “to remove suddenly or snatch away.” It is used in the NT in reference to stealing/plundering (Matt. 11:12; 12:29; 13:19; John 10:12, 28, 29) and removing (John 6:15; Acts 8:39; 23:10; Jude 23). There is a third use, which focuses on being caught up to heaven. It is used of Paul’s third heaven experience (2 Cor. 12:2, 4) and Christ’s ascension to heaven.
Obviously, this is the perfect word to describe God suddenly taking up the church from earth to heaven as the first part of Christ’s second coming. However, the term itself contains no hint as to its time in relation to Daniel’s seventieth week.
Will There Be an Eschatological “Rapture”?
First Thessalonians 4:16–17 unquestionably refers to a rapture that is eschatological in nature. Hence, harpazo is translated as “caught up”:
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Without employing harpazo, but by using similar contextual language, 1 Corinthians 15:51–52 refers to the same eschatological event as 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17: “Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.”
Thus, it can be concluded that Scripture points to an eschatological rapture, even though neither of these foundational texts contains a time indicator.
Will the “Rapture” Be Partial or Full?
Some have suggested that the rapture spoken of in 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 and 1 Corinthians 15:51–52 will only be a “partial” rapture, not a rapture of all who believe. Advocates reason that participation in the rapture is not based upon one’s salvation, but is instead conditional, dependent upon one’s deserving conduct.
This theory rests on NT passages that stress obedient watching and waiting (e.g., Matt. 25:1–13; 1 Thess. 5:4–8; Heb. 9:28). If this interpretation is correct, the result would be that only part of the church would be raptured, and those who are not raptured would endure a portion of or the entire seventieth week of Daniel. However, these biblical texts which supposedly teach a partial rapture are better understood as differentiating between true believers who are raptured and merely professing, yet false believers who remain behind. Texts that refer to the final aspect of Christ’s second coming are often used mistakenly to support the partial-rapture theory.
There are numerous reasons the partial rapture theory fails to be convincing. First, 1 Corinthians 15:51 says that “all” will be changed. Second, a partial rapture would logically demand a parallel partial resurrection, which is nowhere taught in Scripture. Third, a partial rapture would minimize and possibly eliminate the need for the judgment seat of Christ, because judgment would have already taken place by virtue of a “partial” rapture. Fourth, it creates a purgatory of sorts on earth for those believers left behind. Fifth, a partial rapture is nowhere explicitly taught in Scripture. Therefore, it is best to conclude that the rapture will be full and complete, not just partial.
Will the “Rapture” Be Pre-, Mid-, or Post-Daniel’s Seventieth Week?
1. The Church Is Not Mentioned in Revelation 6–18 as Being on Earth
The common NT term for “church” (ekklesia) is used 19 times in Revelation 1–3, a section that deals with the historical church of the first century toward the end of the apostle John’s life (ca. AD 95). However, “church” is then used only once more in the twenty-two-chapter book, and that use is at the very end (22:16) when John returns to addressing the first-century church. Most interesting is the fact that nowhere during the period of Daniel’s seventieth week is the term for “church” used for believers on earth (cf. Rev. 4–19).
It is unexpected that John would shift from detailed instructions for the church to complete silence about the church in the subsequent 13 chapters if, in fact, the church did continue into the tribulation. If the church will experience the tribulation of Daniel’s seventieth week, then surely the most detailed study of tribulation events would include an account of the church’s role—but it does not. The only timing of the rapture that would account for this frequent mention of “church” in Revelation 1–3 and the total absence of the “church” on earth until Revelation 22:16 is a pretribulational rapture which will relocate the church from earth to heaven prior to Daniel’s seventieth week.
Looking at this observation from another perspective, it is also true that nowhere in Scripture is it taught that the church and Israel would coexist as the centers for God’s redemptive message and yet remain mutually exclusive.
Today, the church universal is God’s human channel of redemptive truth. Revelation gives indications that the Jewish remnant will be God’s human instrument during Daniel’s seventieth week. The narrative abruptly shifts from the “church” in Revelation 2–3 to the 144,000 Jews from the twelve tribes in Revelation 7 and 14. Readers must ask, “Why?”
Further, because Revelation 12 is a mini-synopsis of the entire tribulation period and because the woman who gave birth to the male child (Rev. 12:1–13) is Israel, then the Tribulation period focuses on the nation of Israel, not the church. How could this be? Because a pretribulational rapture has removed the “church” from the earth prior to Daniel’s seventieth week.
2. The Rapture Is Rendered Inconsequential if it is Posttribulational
First, if God miraculously preserves the church through the tribulation, why have a rapture? If it is to avoid the wrath of God at Armageddon, then why would God not continue to protect the saints on earth (as is postulated by posttribulationism) just as He protected Israel (see Exod. 8:22; 9:4, 26; 10:23; 11:7) from the wrath He poured out on Pharaoh and Egypt. Further, if the purpose of the rapture is for living saints to avoid Armageddon, why also resurrect the saints who are already immune at the same time?
Second, if the rapture will take place in connection with the Lord’s posttribulational coming, the subsequent separation of the sheep from the goats (see Matt. 25:31.) will be redundant. The separation will have taken place in the very act of translation.
Third, if all tribulation believers are raptured and glorified just prior to the inauguration of the millennial Kingdom, who then will populate and propagate the Kingdom? The Scriptures indicate that the living unbelievers will be judged at the end of the tribulation and removed from the earth (see Matt. 13:41–42; 25:41). Yet, they also teach that children will be born to believers during the millennium and that these children will be capable of sin (see Isa. 65:20; Rev 20:7–10). This will not be possible if all believers on earth have been glorified through a posttribulational rapture.
Fourth, the posttribulational paradigm of the church being raptured and then immediately brought back to earth leaves no time for the Bema, i.e., the Judgment Seat of Christ to occur (1 Cor. 3:10–15; 2 Cor. 5:10), nor for the Marriage Supper (Rev. 19:6–10). Thus, it can be concluded that a posttribulational time of the rapture is incongruous with the sheep-goat nation judgment, and, in fact, eliminates two critical end-time events. A pretribulational rapture avoids all of these difficulties.
3. The Epistles Contain No Preparatory Warnings of an Impending Tribulation for Church-Age Believers
God’s instructions to the church through the epistles contain a variety of warnings, but never do they warn believers to prepare for entering and enduring the tribulation of Daniel’s seventieth week.
They warn vigorously about coming error and false prophets (see Acts 20:29–30; 2 Pet. 2:1; 1 John 4:1–3; Jude 4). They warn against ungodly living (see Eph. 4:25–5:7; 1 Thess. 4:3-8; Heb. 12:1). They even admonish believers to endure in the midst of present tribulation (see 1 Thess. 2:13–14; 2 Thess. 1:4; 1 Peter). However, there is absolute silence on preparing the church for any kind of tribulation like that found in Revelation 6–18.
It is incongruous, then, that the Scriptures would be silent about such a traumatic change for the church. If any time of the rapture other than pretribulational were true, one would expect the epistles to teach the reality of the church in the tribulation, the purpose of the church in the tribulation, and the conduct of the church in the tribulation. However, there is no teaching whatsoever. Only a pretribulational rapture satisfactorily explains this silence.
4. First Thessalonians 4:13–18 Demands a Pretribulational Rapture.
Suppose, hypothetically, that some other rapture timing besides pretribulational is true. What would one expect to find in 1 Thessalonians 4? How does this compare with what is actually observed?
First, one would expect the Thessalonians to be joyous over the fact that loved ones are home with the Lord and will not have to endure the horrors of the tribulation. But the Thessalonians are actually grieving because they fear their loved ones have missed the rapture. Only a pretribulational rapture accounts for this grief.
Second, one would expect the Thessalonians to be grieving over their own impending trial rather than grieving over loved ones. Furthermore, they would be inquisitive about their own future doom. But the Thessalonians have no fears or questions about the coming tribulation.
Third, one would expect Paul, even in the absence of interest or questions by the Thessalonians, to have provided instructions and exhortation for such a supreme test, which would make their present tribulation seem microscopic in comparison. But not one indication of any impending tribulation of this sort appears in the text.
First Thessalonians 4 fits only the model of a pretribulational rapture. It is incompatible with any other time for the rapture.
5. John 14:1–3 Parallels 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18
John 14:1–3 refers to Christ’s second coming. It is not a promise to all believers that they shall go to Him at death. It does refer to the rapture of the church. Note the close parallel between the promises of John 14:1–3 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18. First, the promise of a presence with Christ: “. . . that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3) and “. . . thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thess. 4:17). Second, the promise of comfort: “Let not your heart be troubled . . .” (John 14:1) and “Therefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thess. 4:18).
Jesus instructed the disciples that He was going to His Father’s house (heaven) to prepare a place for them. He promised that He would return and receive them so that they could be with Him wherever He was.
The phrase “wherever I am,” while implying continued presence in general, here means presence in heaven in particular. The Lord told the Pharisees in John 7:34, “Where I am you cannot come.” He was not talking about His then-present abode on earth, but rather His resurrected presence at the right hand of the Father. In John 14:3, “where I am” must mean “in heaven,” or the intent of 14:1–3 would be meaningless.
A posttribulational rapture demands that the saints meet Christ in the air and immediately descend to earth without experiencing what the Lord promised in John 14. Since John 14 refers to the rapture, only a pretribulational rapture satisfies the language of John 14:1–3 and allows raptured saints to dwell for a meaningful time with Christ in His Father’s house.
6. The Nature of Events at Christ’s Posttribulational Coming Differs from that of the Rapture
If one compares what happens at the rapture in 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50–58 with what happens in the final events of Christ’s second coming in Matthew 24–25, at least eight differences are observable. These differences demand that the rapture occurs at a time significantly different from that of the final event of Christ’s second coming.
At the rapture, Christ comes in the air and returns to heaven (1 Thess 4:17), but at the final event of the second coming, Christ comes to the earth to dwell and reign (Matt. 25:31–32).
At the rapture, Christ gathers His own (1 Thess 4:16–17), but at the final event of the second coming, angels gather the elect (Matt. 24:31).
At the rapture, Christ comes to reward (1 Thes 4:17), but at the final event of the second coming, Christ comes to judge (Matt. 25:31–46).
At the rapture, resurrection is prominent (1 Thess 4:15–16), but at the final event of the second coming, resurrection is not mentioned.
At the rapture, believers depart the earth (1 Thess 4:15–17), but at the final event of the second coming, unbelievers are taken away from the earth (Matt. 24:37–41).
At the rapture, unbelievers remain on earth, but at the final event of the second coming, believers remain on earth (Matt. 25:34).
At the rapture, there is no mention of establishing Christ’s Kingdom on earth, but at the final event of the second coming, Christ has come to set up His Kingdom on earth (Matt. 25:31, 34).
At the rapture, believers will receive glorified bodies (cf. 1 Cor 15:51–57), but at the final event of the second coming, no one will receive glorified bodies.
Additionally, several of Christ’s parables in Matthew 13 confirm differences between the rapture and the final event of Christ’s second coming.
In the parable of the wheat and tares, the tares (unbelievers) are taken out from among the wheat (believers) at the second coming (Matt. 13:30, 40), but believers are removed from among unbelievers at the rapture (1 4:15–17).
In the parable of the dragnet, the bad fish (unbelievers) are taken out from among the good fish (believers) at Christ’s second coming (Matt. 13:48–50), but believers are removed from among unbelievers at the rapture (1 4:15–17 ).
Finally, the rapture is not mentioned in either of the most detailed second-coming texts—Matthew 24 and Revelation 19. This is to be expected in light of the observations above because the pretribulational rapture will have occurred seven years earlier.
7. Revelation 3:10 Promises that the Church Will Be Removed Prior to Daniel’s Seventieth Week
The issue here is whether the phrase “keep you from the hour of testing” means “a continuing safe state outside of time itself.”
The Meaning of Ek
The Greek preposition ek has the idea of emergence, but this is not the case in every context. Two notable exceptions to the basic idea are 2 Corinthians 1:10 and 1 Thessalonians 1:10. In the Corinthian passage, Paul rehearses his rescue from death by God. As is apparent, Paul did not emerge from a state of death but instead was rescued from that potential danger.
Even more convincing is 1 Thessalonians 1:10. Here Paul states that Jesus is rescuing believers out of the wrath to come. The idea is not emergence out of wrath, but rather protection from entrance into wrath.
Therefore, ek can be understood to mean either “a continuing state outside of” or “emergence from within.” Thus, no rapture position can be dogmatic at this point. At best, all positions remain possible.
The Meaning of Tereo Ek
It has been argued that if John had meant “to keep from,” he would have used tereo apo (cf. James 1:27). But it is more than equally true that if John had meant “protection within,” he would have used tereo with en, eis, or dia. The greater burden of proof lies with the mid- and post-tribulation positions since their solution of immunity within does not explain the use of ek.
First, ek is much closer to apo in meaning than it is to en, eis, or dia. The two frequently overlap, and in modern Greek apo is absorbing ek. When combined with tereo, ek much more closely approximates apo than it does en, eis, or dia.
Second, the phrase tereo en is used three times in the NT (see Acts 12:5; 1 Pet. 1:4; Jude 21). In each instance, it implies previous existence within with a view to continuation within. Now, if tereo en means continued existence within, what does tereo ek mean? Since they are anything but synonymous, it quite logically means to maintain an existence outside.
Tereo Ek in John 17:15
John 17:15 is the only other passage in the NT where tereo ek occurs. This word combination does not occur in the Septuagint. It is assumed that whatever the phrase means here, it also means the same in Revelation 3:10.
If tereo ek means “previous existence within,” it contradicts 1 John 5:19 which states that believers are of God and unbelievers are in the evil one. Now if 1 John 5:19 implies that believers are not in the power of the evil one, John 17:15 could not possibly imply that they are in the power of Satan and need protection. John 17:15 records the Lord’s petition to keep them outside of the evil one.
Since John 17:15 means to keep outside of the evil one, the parallel thought in Revelation 3:10 is to keep the church outside of the hour of testing. Therefore, only a pretribulational rapture would fulfill the promise.
The Martyrs in Revelation 6:9–11 and 7:14
If Revelation 3:10 means immunity or protection within as other positions insist, several contradictions result. First, if protection in Revelation 3:10 is limited to protection from God’s wrath only and not Satan’s wrath also, then Revelation 3:10 denies the Lord’s request in John 17:15.
Second, if it is argued that Revelation 3:10 means total immunity, then of what worth is the promise in light of Revelation 6:9–11 and 7:14 where martyrs abound? The wholesale martyrdom of saints during the tribulation demands that the promise to the Philadelphian church be interpreted as “keeping out of” the hour of testing, not “keeping within.”
Summary
Ek can mean “emergence from within,” or it can mean “a continued state ”
Tereo en is used in Acts 12:5, 1 Peter 1:4, and Jude 21, and implies “previous and continued existence within.” Therefore tereo ek logically must be understood as “continued existence ”
If the immunity of saints to wrath through the tribulation was intended to teach a posttribulational rapture, then John would have used tereo en, eis, or dia in Revelation 3:10.
Consistent with the previous observation, tereo ek meaning “to keep within” in John 17:15 would contradict 1 John 5:19 if, in fact, it implied “previous existence ”
If tereo ek in Revelation 3:10 implies “previous existence within,” it contradicts the prayer in John 17:15 in limiting immunity to God’s Or its alleged promise of total immunity is rendered null and void by the slaughter of saints in Revelation 6:9–11 and 7:14.
Only the interpretation of tereo ek in Revelation 3:10 which understands that the Philadelphian church will not enter the tribulation, that is, they will be kept out or guarded from entering, satisfies a consistent exegesis of the This finding is in perfect harmony only with a pretribulational understanding of the rapture.
‘Christian Palestinianism’ Accommodates Islamic Revisionism of The Bible
By Olivier Melnick - https://harbingersdaily.com/christian-palestinianism-accomedates-islamic-revisionism-of-the-bible/
For the past 41 years as a Jewish follower of Yeshua (Jesus), I have had to justify the Jewishness of my Messiah more times than I can remember. The dejudaization of Yeshua is not a new concept, but until recently, taking His Jewish roots away from Him was always done to make Yeshua more into a blue eyes/blond hair Gentile than anything else. For the most part, when people made Yeshua look more like a Gentile than a Jew, it was either out of ignorance or possibly because of a mild case of cultural appropriation. When corrected, these people usually accept the fact that Jesus was a Jew.
Jesus, the “Palestinian” comes from a completely different agenda. It is still considered an attempt at the dejudaization of Yeshua, but for different reasons. It falls into one of the three Ds of Natan Sharansky’s antisemitism test. Trying to turn Yeshua into a Palestinian is part of the delegitimization agenda of the enemies of Israel. The concept would have never worked two or three decades ago, but armed with patience, the pro-Palestinian faction pressed on with their propaganda. Historical revisionism finally seems to be paying off.
During the 2024 Christmas season, the Vatican received a gift from Palestinian artists. It was a baby Jesus, Joseph, and Mary made out of olivewood, resting in a manger… wait for it… the manger was covered with the Palestinian keffiyeh (head covering made popular by PLO leader Yasir Arafat.) A photo of Pope Francis sitting in a wheelchair and admiring the nativity scene was circulated worldwide through the Internet, only to quickly be removed after receiving a lot of backlash.
The Palestinian Jesus was borne out of a faulty theology known as Christian Palestinianism. It is the same theology promoted by the creators of “Christ at the Checkpoint.” The agenda aims at re-writing history to take everything Jewish out of the Bible, including Jesus’ Jewish heritage and identity.
Christian Palestinianism is Replacement Theology on steroids and is very dangerous. Here are six reasons why:
A Distortion of God’s Word
The promise of Genesis 12:1-3, made by God to Abraham and the Jewish people, still stands. Blessings or curses will follow those who treat Israel and the Jewish people accordingly. The land boundaries of Genesis 15:18-20 have never changed and have yet to be fully fulfilled: “To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.”
Why is it that almost nobody questions the historical and biblical revisionism of people like Stephen Sizer, Naim Ateek, Elias Chacour, Munther Isaacs, Gary Burge, Hank Hanegraaff, and the like? We are seeing 21st-century Christians blinded by reports of occupation and ethnic cleansing against Palestinians completely turn their back on Israel. But even more than changing one’s interpretation of the Bible, we also witness rejection of the inspired Word of God.
A Rejection of God’s Word
Christian Palestinianist Naim Ateek wrote in Sabeel’s newsletter Cornerstone: “The lesson is clear for me: whatever does not agree with the hermeneutic of God’s love for all people has no authority for us and must not be read even if it is written in the Bible…Jesus had a hermeneutic of God’s love for all people and Isaiah’s words did not comply with that criterion.”
This desire to ignore and even reject Scripture from the Old Testament simply because it appears to be “in conflict” with later teachings of Yeshua is strangely reminiscent of Islam’s “Law of Abrogation,” when Qur’anic verses can be annulled when historically superseded by contradicting ones. Such an approach to God’s Word is inherently wrong, yet many Evangelicals take their lead from people like Naim Ateek on what they perceive to be a valid biblical approach to the Middle East crisis.
Biblical illiteracy is running rampant within the Evangelical Church, and it creates a very shaky foundation upon which historical revisionism can be built with very little challenge, if any. Christian Palestinianists excel at biblical revisionism.
In both cases of distortion and rejection of God’s Word, the authority of the Bible is put in question. The God of the Bible, who is the God of Israel, as well as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, is made into a different god. This allows for the insertion of a revised agenda favoring the Palestinian people at the expense of Israel and the Jewish people.
The concept of Eretz Yisrael (the land of Israel) being the Palestinian homeland and that of the existence of a native Palestinian people were already looming over the horizon a couple of decades ago, but today, it is no longer discussed. The land ownership is accepted without questions. The false premise of a biblical Palestine was propaganda long enough to become truth, with there no longer being a need to have the information checked for biblical accuracy.
A One-Sided Reconciliation
Accusations of “apartheid,” “colonization,” “ethnic cleansing,” or “nazification” of Palestine are constantly brought up without ever speaking of terrorism, rocket attacks, human rights violations, or bloody murder ordered by Palestinian leadership of both Fatah and Hamas. Islamic terrorism is simply dismissed and, in some cases, even justified. Christian Palestinianism offers a one-sided reconciliation, and that, of course, is no reconciliation at all.
God the Covenant Breaker
Christian Palestinianism changes God from a covenant maker and keeper to a covenant breaker. While it might not be clear to many Evangelicals yet, for Christian Palestinianism to exist, Israel has to cease to exist.
What better way to postulate that Israel has become irrelevant than to say that God’s covenants with the Jewish people have been changed? If God had reneged on His covenant or changed the original recipients of His covenantal blessings, it would become obvious that He is done with Israel and the Jews.
But God never changed His mind when He said to Abraham: “I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”
If God were a covenant breaker, He would also have to be a liar. 1 Samuel 15:29 tells us otherwise: “Also the Glory of Israel will not lie or change His mind; for He is not a man that He should change His mind.”
A Demonization of Israel
Once one is convinced that God is finished with Israel and the Jews, it becomes easier to extrapolate the generalization that Israel is the cause of evil against the Palestinians. The accusations against Israel come from Palestinians, Liberals, and some Evangelicals. They come so strongly that, at times, it becomes difficult to define one source from another.
Additionally, the liberal media has absolutely no other agenda than demonizing the victims and victimizing the perpetrators. Facts no longer matter in our postmodern global village. As a matter of fact, radical anti-Zionism is now part of the fabric of society and is in the process of becoming the standard by which one measures his/her degree of tolerance and multiculturalism.
French author Pierre-André Taguieff developed it further in his book Israel et la Question Juive when he wrote: “Intellectual and political conformism moves alongside radical anti-Zionism, having nothing to do with a critique of Israel’s politics but rather aiming at the final destruction of the Jewish State.”
A Promotion of Islam
In her book Eurabia: the Euro-Arab Axis, Jewish author and activist, Bat Ye’or, describes Christian Palestinianism as “Palestinian Marcionism:” “The Christian policy that would eliminate the Jewish source of Christianity by suppressing the link between the Hebrew Bible and the Gospels represents an old and lingering trend, always opposed by the Church. Today, Palestinian Marcionism (Palestinianism) paves the way for the Islamization of the Church as it prepares mentalities for an Islamic replacement theology… and encompasses the whole paraphernalia of traditional antisemitism.”
Bat Ye’or’s assessment has tragically proven true in the last few decades. Christian Palestinianism is well on its way to de-judaize Yeshua–a job that the gentile branch of Christianity generously contributed to, out of ignorance and sometimes, pure hatred of the Jews over the centuries. Christian Palestinianism will also continue to invalidate much of the Jewish Scriptures as history gets re-written and Jewish references get replaced to accommodate the “Islamization” of the Bible.
The Palestinian Jesus can only exist if we ignore biblical truth. To accept that Jesus was the first Palestinian, we first have to agree that Palestinians are real people from the land of Palestine, currently called Israel. That is a false premise to start with, but it needs to be understood as such. Once we are beyond the false premise of Palestine, we also need to stick to the biblical proof that Jesus was a Jew and the Bible is replete with that kind of data. Following are a few examples:
Jesus was a descendant of Jewish patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – Genesis 22:18; Matthew 1:1-2
Jesus came from the Jewish tribe of Judah – Genesis 49:10; Hebrews 7:14
Jesus was a Jewish prophet like Moses – Deuteronomy 18:15-19
Jesus was from the line of Jewish king David – 1 Chronicles 17:10-14
Jesus had Jewish parents – Luke 2:39
Jesus was circumcised on the eighth day according to Jewish law – Genesis 17:11-14; Luke 2:21
Jesus was a rabbi – John 1:38, 6:25
Jesus celebrated the Jewish Feast of Passover – John 2:13
Jesus celebrated the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles – John 7:2
Jesus celebrated Hanukkah – John 10:2
Jesus was called the King of the Jews by Pilate – Mark 15:2
So, no, Jesus is not a Palestinian. Jesus is a Jew. As a matter of fact, He came to the Jewish people first, but eventually, He extended His salvation program to all people who trust in His death and resurrection. Jesus came as the Messiah of Israel, but He became the Savior of the world. He never was and never will be a Palestinian, but He died for every Jew, Arab, or Gentile in the world, no questions asked and no strings attached.
Let’s celebrate the birth of the Jewish Messiah and His universal free gift of salvation for all without trying to revise history or redefine Jesus!

Targeting America: Inside China's Navy Expansion and Electronic Warfare Tactics
By PNW Staff - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=7647
The Chinese military has reportedly released a "hit list" of U.S. naval targets it would prioritize in the event of a conflict, raising concerns over its increasingly aggressive posture in the Indo-Pacific region.
According to a report by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has identified critical radars, sensors, and communication equipment aboard U.S. naval vessels that it would aim to disable in a potential conflict. This revelation underscores China's strategic focus on disrupting America's naval defenses while highlighting the broader scope of its military expansion and technological ambitions.
Electronic Warfare and Targeting the U.S. Navy
The PLA's recent report details sophisticated strategies for electronic warfare and cyberattacks. These include using drones to create false signals, overwhelming U.S. electronic warfare systems, and hacking into the Navy's Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) system. The CEC allows U.S. naval fleets to share air defense resources, and the PLA claims it could mimic legitimate signaling methods to infiltrate and disable this network. The PLA's goal would be to sever the CEC's connectivity, severely weakening the fleet's defensive and offensive coordination.
One of the most critical targets identified in the PLA's analysis is the Navy's AN/SPY-1 phased array radar, integral to the AEGIS combat system. Overwhelming this radar with electronic interference could compromise the system's ability to respond to incoming missile threats. Another priority target is the E-2C Hawkeye early warning aircraft, which plays a pivotal role in carrier group defense. By disrupting these assets, China aims to gain a significant advantage in naval engagements.
The PLA report, published in Defense Industry Conversion in China, a magazine supervised by the Chinese state, reflects an ambitious approach to future naval battlefields. According to Mo Jiaqian, the report's author and a PLA electronic countermeasures expert, these strategies provide a roadmap for advancing China's electronic warfare capabilities.
China's Broader Military Build-Up
This report is just one example of China's rapidly growing military capabilities, which extend far beyond electronic warfare. Over the past decade, China has undertaken a massive expansion of its military, with notable advancements in several key areas:
1. The World's Largest Navy
China now boasts the largest navy in the world by fleet size, with over 340 ships and submarines, according to the U.S. Department of Defense's 2023 China Military Power Report. The PLA Navy (PLAN) continues to modernize, with new aircraft carriers, destroyers, and submarines being rapidly commissioned. Its growing fleet reflects China's ambition to project power far beyond its shores, particularly in contested regions like the South China Sea and around Taiwan.
2. Satellite and Anti-Satellite Technology
China has made significant strides in space warfare capabilities, including the development of anti-satellite (ASAT) weapons. These systems are designed to disable or destroy satellites, which are critical for global communications, navigation, and military operations. By targeting U.S. satellite networks, China could disrupt military command and control systems, potentially crippling U.S. operations in a conflict.
3. Drone Swarm Technology
The PLA has invested heavily in drone swarm technology, which uses large numbers of small, coordinated drones to overwhelm enemy defenses. This capability poses a significant threat to traditional naval and air defense systems, as swarms can conduct reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and direct attacks simultaneously. The integration of artificial intelligence enhances the precision and adaptability of these systems.
4. Incursions Around Taiwan
China's military activities around Taiwan have intensified in recent years. The PLA frequently conducts large-scale exercises and incursions into Taiwan's air defense identification zone (ADIZ). These actions are part of a broader strategy to pressure Taiwan and signal Beijing's readiness to use force if necessary. The PLA Navy's increasing presence in the Taiwan Strait underscores the heightened risk of a military confrontation.
5. Economic Leverage Through Rare Earth Exports
China's dominance in rare earth mineral production provides another avenue for exerting pressure on the U.S. and its allies. Rare earths are critical components in advanced technologies, including military hardware. Beijing has previously restricted exports of these materials and could use this leverage in a geopolitical conflict, potentially disrupting supply chains for essential U.S. defense systems.
Implications for U.S. National Security
The PLA's "hit list" and broader military advancements highlight the urgent need for the U.S. to strengthen its defensive and offensive capabilities. Electronic warfare, cybersecurity, and satellite resilience must be prioritized to counter China's growing technological prowess. Additionally, the U.S. Navy must continue to modernize its fleet to maintain a strategic advantage in the Indo-Pacific.
China's actions also underscore the importance of bolstering alliances with regional partners like Japan, Australia, and India. Collaborative defense initiatives and intelligence-sharing can serve as a counterweight to Beijing's aggression.
The Chinese military's aggressive posture and rapid advancements in technology and naval power represent a clear and present challenge to U.S. national security. The PLA's detailed strategies for targeting U.S. naval assets, combined with its broader military build-up, signal an ambition to dominate the Indo-Pacific and challenge American influence globally.
Insights from Recent War Games
Recent war games conducted by U.S. defense analysts and military experts have provided alarming insights into the potential outcomes of a conflict between the United States and China. Scenarios simulating a Chinese invasion of Taiwan often result in catastrophic losses on both sides, including heavy damage to U.S. naval and air assets. Analysts warn that the sheer scale of China's missile capabilities, electronic warfare tools, and naval presence could overwhelm U.S. forces in the early stages of a conflict.
Additionally, these simulations highlight the importance of preparedness in areas such as cyber resilience, missile defense, and rapid deployment capabilities. The findings emphasize that while the U.S. retains significant technological and strategic advantages, complacency could result in devastating setbacks. Such analyses underscore the urgency of countering China's rapid military advancements and reaffirming commitments to defending democratic allies like Taiwan.
There’s A Great Day Coming
By Dennis Huebshman - https://www.raptureready.com/2024/12/18/theres-a-great-day-coming-by-dennis-huebshman/
From the time our Savior walked this earth all the way to today, certain people have been ready to leave this sin-filled world and be with Him forever. We are the ones who have received and accepted Jesus as our Eternal Savior and are waiting for either the Rapture or our death to take place. (ESV – all emphasis is mine.)
Paul stated in Philippians 1:21-23, “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose, I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is much better.”
For all who are saying they cannot possibly be saved because of all the evil they have done in their lifetimes, the Apostle Paul’s example speaks volumes. He spoke of his life before his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus (Acts 8).
In Acts 7, we’re told of the martyrdom of Stephen. When he was stoned, Saul (Paul) was there, and we’re told in Acts 8:1, “And Saul approved of his execution.” In Acts 8:3, “But Saul was ravaging the Church, and entering house to house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison.” Many of those early Christians suffered horrible deaths because of Saul.
Going to Philippians 3:5-7, Paul testified, “Circumcised on the 8th day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews. As to the law, a Pharisee, as to zeal, a persecutor of the Church; as to righteousness under the law, blameless. But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.” All his past was changed for him on the road to Damascus (Acts 9).
Prior to Calvary, people had to put their faith and trust in our Holy Father, Creator of the heavens and the earth. His covenant was that all who were in His will, even though the pure, sinless blood sacrifice had not yet been made, would spend eternity with Him in Heaven. When Jesus shed His sin-free blood on the cross at Calvary, His gift reached back to those who were faithful and in God’s will.
When Jesus rose from the dead, our covenant was sealed. All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. That’s found in Joel 2:32, which was about 400 years prior to the arrival of Jesus; Acts 2:21, where Peter affirms the scripture in Joel; and Romans 10:13 as part of the “A-B-Cs” of Salvation given by Paul.
There have been false prophets and antichrists from the beginning of Earth’s existence. Satan led the way with his deception of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3). God could have destroyed Satan and the humans at that time, but His plans for us are reserved for the final judgments at the end of the millennial reign of our Savior on this earth. There will be two distinct final judgments and only two outcomes. One is Eternal Salvation and to be with Jesus forever; the other is eternal condemnation and to be in torment with Satan and his demons.
By the way, the “demons” are fallen angels who decided to follow Lucifer or Satan rather than worship the Heavenly Father who created them all. They have no pathway to forgiveness ever as they had already been in the presence of our Mighty God.
No matter what false prophets and antichrists try to have you believe, there are not “many” ways to Heaven without Jesus. The official faithful translations of the Bible are God’s instructions to us written by about 40 Holy Spirit-inspired authors (2 Samuel 23:2, 2 Timothy 3:1617, and 2 Peter 1:20-21).
Satan leads those who prefer the ways of this world rather than those who long for eternity with Jesus. In 2 Peter 3:3-4 we read, “knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.'”
Believers prefer 2 Peter 3:13; “But according to His promise, we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”
We can be assured that “There’s A Great Day Coming” for all who are in Christ. Will L. Thompson (1849-1901) wrote a song with that title. It’s a very basic easy to understand hymn that encourages us to get ready for our journey Home.
1.) There’s a great day coming, a great day coming; there’s a great day coming by and by. When the saints and the sinners shall be parted right and left; are you ready for that day to come?
Ref) Are you ready? Are you ready? Are you ready for the Judgment Day? Are you ready? Are you ready? Are you ready for the Judgment Day?
2. There’s a bright day coming, a bright day coming; there’s a bright day coming by and by. But its brightness shall only come to those who love the Lord; are you ready for that day to come? (ref)
3.) There’s a sad day coming, a sad day coming; there’s a sad day coming by and by. When the sinner shall hear his doom; “Depart, I know ye not”; are you ready for that day to come? (ref)
Two verses are absolute declarations that dispel all references made by false prophets. My chosen “life verse” is John 14:6; “And Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Second, and just as important, Peter told the religious counsel of Pharisees and Sadducees in Acts 4:12, “And there is Salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
For those of us who have been around for a while, it is obvious that this world is changing rapidly into what Jesus, Luke, Peter, John, Paul, and others described as nearing the end of this age. No one can positively state that this will take place on a certain date or at a certain time. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 24:36, “But concerning that day or hour, no one knows, not even the angels of Heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”
Right here, doubters will say that Jesus could not be God, or He would have known that information. We must remember that for our Savior’s sacrifice to be accepted by Our Heavenly Father, He would have had to become “fully human” for a time. Hebrews 2:9 is one verse that states Jesus was made lower than the angels for a little while. His obedience to the Father was complete all the way to His death on a cruel Roman cross. John 10:18 tells us Jesus did this willingly for our sakes.
Is it any wonder that all who truly receive and accept Jesus as their Savior will be given eternal life by our Heavenly Father? (Romans 10:9-13)
Likewise, all who refuse to ask Jesus for forgiveness and for Him to be their Savior will end up in the lake of fire as described in Revelation 20:11-15.
False prophet and antichrist activity is increasing in preparation for the arrival of the ultimate evil one who will be the leader of the seven-year tribulation. Rather than be totally dismayed because of the persecutions of our Great Shephard’s precious flock, we should be hopeful in anticipation of our rising up to meet Jesus in the air at any moment (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 1 Corinthians 15:51-53) This has to happen before the antichrist can appear (2 Thessalonians 2:3-10).
We’re told in 2 Peter 3:9 that Our Father is patient towards us and wants no one to fail. He provides more chances than we can count, but He will not force anyone to accept His Son.
Man-made religions that will all end up in the lake of fire have many deeds that must be done, contributions made, and blindly following the humans in command. There is nothing divine about any of this.
No matter what we believe we can do on our own to gain God’s approval, Isaiah 64:6 tells us our “works are as filthy rags.” We must follow Ephesians 2:8-9; “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not our own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast.”
We will have an eternity to serve and worship our Lord in whatever capacity we will be given. We will never feel insignificant or unloved in any manner, shape, or form.
The hardest part is believing it’s true. To many, it’s easier to fall for Satan’s lie that we must not believe it’s that easy as we must work for our salvation.
Our Heavenly Father will not lie or play games with us in reference to our eternity. He is our Creator, and He loves us beyond any understanding we could possibly have. All He asks is that we call out to His Son, admit we’re sinners and cannot be saved without Him (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23), and ask His forgiveness and be our Savior forever (Romans 10:13).
Once the Trumpet of God sounds and the shout comes from an archangel and all believers are taken up to meet Jesus in the air, it will be too late to call out to be in the Rapture. Paul tells us the process will be made in the “twinkling of an eye,” or less than one second.
Right now would be a good time to ask Jesus to save you forever. Read God’s letter to us (Bible), starting with John and then Romans if you’ve never read it before.
Believe and Receive; it’s about as simple as that. Come, Lord Jesus!
Daily Jot: FBI Insurrection
Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com
A recent report by the US Inspector General indicates that there were 26 Confidential Human Sources (CHS) blending in with protestors at the Capitol on January 6, 2020. The report says 17 of them illegally entered the Capitol and/or restricted areas. None of them were authorized to break the law. None of them have been prosecuted. Christopher Wray, the disgraced FBI Director who resigned prior to the report, told Congress there were no FBI undercover agents or CHS at the Capitol on Jan 6 in previous testimony. The report exposes FBI involvement in Jan 6 and is just another piece of a puzzle where the FBI may have been instrumental in fomenting perhaps the greatest insurrection in American history.
While the FBI, the Biden White House, Congressional Democrats, and the mainstream media still maintain no FBI undercover agents were involved on Jan 6, it is a very thin line of deception. The report says, “We found no evidence in the materials we reviewed or the testimony we received showing or suggesting that the FBI had undercover employees in the various protest crowds, or at the Capitol, on January 6.” That’s what you will hear in the mainstream media. Truth is, as the report confirms, there were 26 independent FBI consultants called CHS that were undercover and directly supervised by FBI “handling agents.” There were undercover FBI assets at Jan 6 blending with the crowd and participating. They are not technically undercover agents because they are technically CHS, an undercover asset.
On the day of Wray’s resignation, President-elect Trump wrote in an email to The Daily Jot: “The resignation of Christopher Wray is a great day for America as it will end the Weaponization of what has become known as the United States Department of Injustice. I just don’t know what happened to him. Under the leadership of Christopher Wray, the FBI illegally raided my home, without cause, worked diligently on illegally impeaching and indicting me, and has done everything else to interfere with the success and future of America.” Putting this in perspective, the FBI also was responsible for the fake Russian dossier against Trump in the 2016 campaign that led to Obama, Clinton and the Democratic National Committee spying on the Trump campaign and the subsequent Mueller investigation on Russian collusion that found nothing.
The FBI has instigated years of false flag events and false evidence against Trump in an all-out effort with the Democratic Party to ensure Trump could not regain the White House. Given that the 2020 election was also hijacked—Biden getting the most votes in history, about 15 million more than any other candidate—it is no great leap to consider an FBI role in election interference above and beyond the Russian collusion hoax and other incidents of note. This begs the question: Is it possible the FBI was instrumental in fomenting the greatest insurrection in American history? As Christ said in Luke 8:17, “For nothing is hidden which will not become manifest, nor secret which shall not be known and come to light.” May it be true for those who would call evil good and good evil and perpetrate such deception upon those they are to serve.
Daily Devotion: Start with Thank You
by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org
What can I offer the Lord for all he has done for me? —Psalm 116:12
https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/start-with-thank-you/ - Listen
The psalmist David asked, “What can I offer the Lord for all he has done for me?” Then he goes on to say, “I will lift up the cup of salvation and praise the Lord’s name for saving me” (Psalm 116:12–13 NLT).
One of the most well-known stories in the Bible is that of the wise men who came to visit the child Jesus. There’s a lot of misunderstanding about this story, however. For example, they have been called kings, but we really don’t know that they were. The Bible calls them magi, which is closely related to the word magician.
These men were advisers to the king and more like king makers than actual kings. They were very powerful. They studied the stars and were into astronomy and astrology. These were pagan men who did not believe in the Lord God of Israel. So, God came to them in a way they would understand.
He went to these stargazers, these magi, with a star. And that star brought them to the child Jesus, who had already been born. First they came through Jerusalem, where they met the paranoid King Herod. They told him they had come to worship the King of the Jews.
Then they found their way to Bethlehem. Matthew tells us, “The star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him” (Matthew 2:9–11 NLT).
They came to worship the newborn King. And how did they express their worship? Verse 11 tells us, “They opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh” (NLT). They didn’t give Jesus their leftovers. They were meeting the living King, and only the best would do.
Sometimes in the church we limit the word worship. In a church service, we often call our time of singing our “worship time.” Then when the singing is done, we say it’s time for Bible study. But hearing a Bible study is also an act of worship, just as giving an offering is. Leaving the church building and sharing our faith with someone is an act of worship as well.
Serving others is an act of worship. In Billy Graham’s home, there was a sign near the kitchen sink that read, “Divine service done here three times daily.” Even doing the dishes can be an act of worship. So, let’s not limit our worship to singing.
At Christmas we celebrate God’s gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, to us. There’s nothing that we ever could give to God that would be even close to being equal to the gift that God has given to us. But there are things we can do for Him to show our thanks.
When someone gives us a nice gift, we say thank you. If someone does something for us, we say thank you. In the same way, God has given us this amazing gift. So, we should say, “Thank you, Lord.”
The real happiness we are looking for is not in Christmas; it is in Christ. It comes from His presence in our lives.
