Understand The Times

In the Old Testament, we read that King David’s army included the children of Issachar, who were men who had an understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do (I Chron. 12:32).

In the New Testament, we read that “we have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth into a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (II Pet. 1:19).

We also read that “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (II Tim. 3:16);

We also read that “prophecy came not in old time by the will of man; but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (II Pet. 1:21).

I believe these verses are saying God used men who excelled in their relationship with Him to write the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation.

God was the revealer, and they were the secretaries.

I have often said the Scriptures reveal God’s will for our lives.

All Scripture, including the prophetic Scriptures, were given by Him.

God wants people to understand the times so they will know what to do.

People would do well (be wise) to pay attention to them.

I want to encourage leaders to understand the times so His people can know what to do.

Here are some recent current events that seem to indicate that time is short:

One, concerning false accusers at the end of the age: during his confirmation hearing for U.S. Sec. of Defense, Pete Hegseth was viciously attacked for past moral lapses – some that he admitted and some that he said were false – but he prevailed and actually gained some very important support for his confirmation.

During his opening statement, Hegseth boldly confirmed his faith.

Hegseth said:

“Thank you to my incredible wife Jennifer, who has changed my life and been with me throughout this entire process. I love you, sweetheart, and I thank God for you.
And as Jenny and I pray together each morning, all glory — regardless of the outcome — belongs to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His grace and mercy abound each day. May His will be done.”

Two, concerning an increase in knowledge at the end of the age: on Jan. 15, 2025, it was reported that China attracted global attention by demonstrating a CASBOT 1 robot (nicknamed Wednesday) at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show.

The computer in CASBOT 1 can perform 550 trillion operations per second.

“Wednesday” has advanced sensors that allow it to run, jump, do certain repetitive human tasks, and more.

This is over my head, but I read that it will put the U.S. in the race to create Artificial Intelligence – AI – and will eventually use 6G technology to merge humans with machines via the Internet of Bio Nano Things; IoBNT. It is another sign that knowledge is increasing.)

Three, concerning world government: on Jan. 15, 2025, on The Common Sense Show, Dave Hodges posted a short video titled “The WEF, UN, WHO, Bilderberg, et al., Are Dead in The Water.”

Hodges said, “Donald Trump is getting us out of the WHO; soon we are going to be out of the IMF, something I am not at liberty to talk about, but I am telling you this financial reset is coming. I will leave it there. A couple of more days, we will be putting this out …

(My opinion: I have often said the U.S. should leave these globalist organizations. Whether this happens or not I don’t know, But I do know that world government is coming. I believe we are close; the globalist goal is 2030 or sooner if possible; Ten Kings – leaders – will be given power before the Antichrist confirms the covenant, the Rapture will take place before the Antichrist rises to power, and the U.S. will surrender its sovereignty to the Antichrist’s world government. I do know that the Restrainer is still working, and He is probably impacting Trump’s policies. But, when the Restrainer is removed, world government will move forward at warp speed.)

This ends a major globalist effort to require nations to surrender their sovereignty.)

Four, concerning a global economic collapse during the Tribulation Period, at his confirmation hearing on Jan. 16, 2025, Pres. Trump’s nominee for Treasury Sec.,

Scott Bessent told the U.S. Senate:

Americans are barreling towards an economic crisis at year’s end.
Americans will face the largest tax increase in history, a crushing 4 trillion tax hike.
The U.S. will be facing an economic calamity.
Outgoing Treasury Sec. Janet Yellen disagrees.

(My opinion: I don’t know who is right, but I believe a U.S. economic collapse would trigger a global economic collapse, and that will be after the Rapture.)

Five, on Jan. 14-15, several world leaders and influencers gathered at Mar-a-Lago to pray for America, Pres. Trump, the peace of Jerusalem, and to worship God.

One of the main prayer concerns was to petition God that the Trump administration will not attempt to divide the land of Israel.

During two days of prayer and worship, the group also prayed for other nations, leaders, people, and the release of the kidnapped hostages that Hamas is holding.

Six, concerning the Abraham Accords, which may be a stepping stone to a covenant of peace with many in the Middle East: on Jan. 15, 2025, it was reported that Trump said his incoming administration would look to further the Abraham Accord agreements following the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

(More: On Jan. 20, 2025, Mike Evans – Founder and Pres. of Friends of Zion – said, “One of the first things you’re going to have with Donald Trump is peace with Saudi Arabia. This is the crown jewel of the Abraham Accords, and he’s going to bring that, and it’s going to be significant for the State of Israel. It will happen this year.”)

Seven, concerning a potential ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas: on Jan. 15, 2025, on Fox News, Trump’s Incoming National Security Advisor said:

The Trump administration will support renewed Israeli military action against Hamas in Gaza if the terrorist group violates the terms of the ceasefire.
We’ve made it very clear to the Israelis, and I want the people of Israel to hear me on this—if they need to go back in, we’re with them.
If Hamas doesn’t live up to the terms of this agreement, we are with them.
Hamas is not going to continue as a military entity and it certainly is not going to govern Gaza.

Eight, on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, it was reported that a ceasefire and hostage release agreement, which is still in the final stages of approval with Israeli officials, is set to go into effect on Sunday, the day before Trump is inaugurated as the 47th President of the U.S.

(Note: Implementation of phase I of the agreement is set to begin on Sunday, but it is a three-phase agreement that will not be completed for at least six weeks.)

Nine, on Jan. 16, 2025, just hours after it was reported that a ceasefire agreement had been reached, a senior Hamas official promised that Hamas would attack Israel again in the future.

(Note: Muslims believe it is okay to lie if the lie advances their goal of taking over the world.)

Ten, concerning the ceasefire agreement: on Jan. 17, 2025, Joel Rosenberg (editor-in-chief of All Israel News and All Arab News), asked, “Why is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreeing to a deal that provides so many painful and costly concessions to Hamas, even at the risk of far-right members of his government quitting and risking his coalition’s collapse?”

Rosenberg’s response to his own question was,”

Two reasons:

First, Netanyahu wants all of our hostages back without surrendering to Hamas, as do 70% of the Israeli people.
Second, Netanyahu has incoming President Donald J. Trump’s personal and public assurances and that of Trump’s most senior advisors – that the new U.S. administration will fully back Israel in crushing Hamas and never allow the terror group to rule Gaza again.

We have received unequivocal guarantees — from both outgoing US President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump — that if the negotiations on phase two of the ceasefire fail and Hamas does not accept our security demands, we will return to intense fighting with the backing of the United States.

Eleven, concerning world government and tracking all buying and selling: according to Leo Hohmann on Jan. 14, 2025,

The United Nations is calling on governments around the world to fight climate change and other “emergencies” by mandating biometric digital ID systems, giving governments worldwide the ability to tag and track the masses in their every move.
Digital ID systems that have already been implemented in other countries are typically tied to the financial system, allowing the government to track one’s spending habits as well as their movement.

Twelve, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog, on Jan. 17, 2025, Russia and Iran signed their long-awaited agreement that (according to Russia’s Foreign Min.) will confirm the parties’ desire for closer cooperation in the field of defense and interaction in the interests of peace and security at the regional and global levels.

Thirteen, concerning the rebuilding of Gaza, on Jan. 17, 2025, Pres.-Elect Trump’s nominee to be U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, said,

The responsibility of rebuilding Gaza is the responsibility of the people who messed this up, and that was Hamas, funded by the Iranians.
If Iran and Hamas have enough money to build weapons and tunnels, they should have some money to rebuild and aid civilians.

Fourteen, concerning God blessing those that bless Israel, and cursing those that curse Israel: on Jan. 20, 2025, Pres. Trump rescinded the sanctions that the Biden administration imposed on Israeli settler groups in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria).

FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and He is the only way to get there; John 14:6).

Finally, are you Rapture Ready?

If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

How Does Iran’s Dwindling Power Factor into The Future Ezekiel 38 War?

There is a prophetic foreshadowing developing on the world scene. The Middle East is changing before our eyes in ways that we never could have imagined at the beginning of 2024. These events, surrounding Iran, Syria, Russia, and Turkey, signal a marked movement toward the Gog-Magog War of Ezekiel 38.

Just a few months ago, Iran was sitting pretty. They had Hezbollah as their attack dog against the Jewish State. They had huge stockpiles of ballistic missiles that could reach Israel. They had a sophisticated network of air defense systems from Moscow. They had a formidable presence in Syria on Israel’s northern border—along with their ally, Russia.

Now, all of that suddenly and dramatically has come crashing down over the last nine months. Why? Because of several key events that no one could have imagined.

The Diminished Power and Influence Of Iran

Due to the IDF’s array of defense systems, such as the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and others, Iranian ballistic missiles have proven totally ineffective in two direct, large-scale attacks against Israel. Hezbollah has also been effectively neutralized by Israel.

It was recently revealed that in September 2024, Israel destroyed an underground Iranian missile factory in Syria. According to Fox News, in a call with reporters, IDF spokesperson Nadav Shoshani provided details on the daring operation.

“Elite Israeli forces conducted a dramatic raid in Syria, destroying a secret underground long-range missile factory that also contained information about Syria’s chemical weapons program in September, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF),” Fox News highlighted.

“The factory was designed to manufacture between 150-350 missiles a year, including precision-guided missiles (PGM), according to the IDF,” Fox News continued. “Commandoes from the IDF’s elite air force unit Shaldag participated in the mission. The IDF said 30 Syrian soldiers were killed during the operation.”

The elimination of the factory also served to cut off Hezbollah, as the missiles being manufactured by the facility went straight into the hands of the terror group across the Syria-Lebanon border.

According to many, this bold operation could serve as a template for Israel to take out Iranian nuclear facilities.

In an opinion piece published by the Jerusalem Post, “Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear program in 2025 could transform the Middle East,” author Yonah Jeremy Bob observed, “If the IDF could bring 120 Special Forces for three hours into Syria to destroy a sensitive Iranian facility, in the best-defended part of Syria from both air and on the ground after Damascus, why couldn’t Israel carry out an adapted version of such an operation at [Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility]?”

Iran’s nuclear program is totally exposed and vulnerable to an attack by the IDF. It’s looking more and more like 2025 could be the year when Israel delivers a death blow to Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

The Jerusalem Post article further noted that Tehran has become a sitting duck after the Israeli Air Force destroyed “Iran’s S-300 anti-aircraft radar systems on April 19, and the rest on October 26.”

“This means that at any moment, Israel could launch an airstrike on the nuclear program, which is essentially undefended in any real way from such strikes – for now,” the author added.

Since the beginning of the JCPOA during the Obama administration, Israel has vocally promised that it would not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapons program. While Israel continuously worked to impede Iran’s progression toward a weapon, taking out the program entirely seemed, at that point in time, to be impossible. Now, however, Iran is more vulnerable than it has ever been since the Islamic Revolution in 1979. This is a shocking development that no one could have anticipated.

Additionally, the Jerusalem Post article emphasized that “during the US election campaign, President Donald Trump publicly called on Israel to strike Iran’s nuclear sites.”

The publication added that the now-sitting President has “continued to support such a strike, should Tehran not back down from its nuclear advances in a serious way” and has “even suggested that he will finally give Israel a bunker-buster capability to carry out the attack.”

Bunker buster bombs would need to be dropped, one on top of another, to destroy these hardened underground nuclear sites. Donald Trump has stepped into office in favor of these actions being taken, which makes them all the more likely to be carried out.

“Suddenly, there is a public possibility that Israel could eliminate Iranian nuclear facilities either by airstrikes or by a Special Forces operation,” the Jerusalem Post article concluded.

How does this factor into Iran being a key player in the Gog-Magog invasion? With Iran’s power and influence being diminished, is the Ezekiel 38 war less likely to occur in the near term? While Iran’s declining power and influence is a reality, that doesn’t make the Gog-Magog war less likely. Right now, we have front-row seats to a major power shift that is underway in the Middle East.

The Rising Threat from Turkey

Iran and Russia have been in Syria since 2011, when the civil war in the country began, to bolster the regime of Bashar Al Assad. The Assad regime has fallen, and in a turn of shocking events, now Iran and Russia are largely out of Syria. However, Turkey, another key Ezekiel 38 ally, is filling the vacuum. In fact, four of the names in Ezekiel 38 are in modern-day Turkey—Meshach, Tubal, Gomer, and Togarmah.

Another piece published by the Jerusalem Post highlighted a report conducted by the Nagel Committee, which stressed that “Israel must prepare for potential war with Turkey.”

“The committee, established by the government, warns that Turkey’s ambitions to restore its Ottoman-era influence could lead to heightened tensions with Israel, possibly escalating into conflict,” JPost underscored. “The report highlights the risk of Syrian factions aligning with Turkey, creating a new and potent threat to Israel’s security.”

They further stated that “Erdogan’s policies in Syria bring Turkey and Israel closer to confrontation.”

“The tumultuous relationship between Israel and Turkey is heading for more turbulence as recent developments in Syria pitch the two countries against each other in what has the potential of developing into a direct armed confrontation,” JPost explained.

Nagel Committee also recently suggested that the threat of a Turkey-backed Syria has the potential to surpass the danger of Iran in its current state.

“It must be considered that Israel may face a new threat arising in Syria, which in some respects could be no less severe than the previous one,” they warned. “This threat could take the form of an extreme Sunni force that would also refuse to recognise the very existence of Israel. Furthermore, since the Sunni rebels will wield political power by virtue of their central control in Syria, a greater threat may emerge from them than the Iranian threat, which has been limited due to Israel’s ongoing actions, as well as the restrictions placed on Iran by the sovereign Syrian state.”

There are fears that Syria may essentially become a proxy of Turkey. A fight on Israel’s northern border would be a dream come true for the Islamic nation. Under the current situation in Syria, Iran and Russia are on the outs, but Turkey is in.

Prophetic Alignment

There is no doubt that a wounded and weakened Iran could be more motivated than ever to get back at Israel and join with Turkey to invade the Jewish State.

The gears continue to turn as the nations adjust into prophetic alignment. When the time is right, just as God’s Word foretold, Turkey, Iran, and Russia will all conspire to invade Israel.

As we see the pieces moving toward Ezekiel 38, we can rejoice that the rapture is even closer. Let’s be those who are living in light of our Blessed Hope and looking for His soon coming.

Fires of Forewarning

I’m hearing it proclaimed in the strongest terms that God is judging California and punishing that area with the horrific fire because of the wickedness it embraces. I disagree. I say God is not yet judging, not in the sense that His judgment produces punishment from Heaven.

Indeed, the parts of California that are, as of this writing, being devoured by the fires—fanned by 100 mph winds, in some cases—are the center of wickedness the likes of which might make the people of ancient Sodom and Gomorrah blush.

One observer writes the following in that regard:

There is so much anger about the unprecedented fires that are ravaging the Los Angeles area, because there is a widespread belief that they could have been prevented. Some are blaming mismanaged forests, some are blaming the extreme incompetence of our leaders, some are blaming “climate change”, and some are blaming budget cuts. But could it be possible that the real reason why Los Angeles is burning is not related to any of those factors?

What is the one thing that sets Los Angeles apart from any other city in the world?

Needless to say, it is the entertainment industry…

Most people living in the western world consume entertainment that originates from Los Angeles almost every single day.

Most of us are literally opening up our minds and pouring in filth on a regular basis, and that has had absolutely devastating consequences.

Of course much of the filth that the entertainment industry produces openly mocks God and misuses His name.

Sadly, the entertainment industry was even mocking God at the Golden Globe awards just 48 hours before the fires hit.

So they mocked God on Sunday at the Golden Globes, couple days later their houses burn down…

The entire planet has been corrupted by the movies, television shows and music that come out of Los Angeles. On top of all that, L.A. is the epicenter for the global pornography industry. (“Could There Be A Reason Why Los Angeles Is Burning That Nobody Really Wants To Talk About?” by Michael, End Of The American Dream, January 12, 2025)

President Trump said recently the area destroyed by the fires look as if they’ve been hit by a nuclear attack. It sure seems like the judgment of God is being visited on America’s Pompeii, doesn’t it?

No. I think not. I believe what we see happening—the fiery devastation ravaging one of America’s most desirable place to live in terms of environment—is actually an expression of God’s love.

Now, that seems almost as wrong in reasoning as the woke thinking that comes out of California, that state of upside-down, reprobate insanity!

Here I want to say that we are to have love and concern for the people who are suffering so desperately from these catastrophic fires. And they are catastrophic, with entire neighborhoods across a vast expanse having been completely burned to the ground. Let us reach out in compassion, knowing that, but by the grace of God, we could be in the same circumstances.

That said, I’m of the thinking proffered by my friend Tom Hughes, whose ministry is located in California.

He likened what’s going on there to the terminal health dilemma of someone he once witnessed to about the saving power of Jesus Christ.

The man had only days to live when he went to visit him, Tom said. The man wanted to know that if there was a God, why he was suffering such pain.

Tom lovingly and gently told the cancer patient that God had blessed him all his life with a successful life and wonderful family. Despite all the opportunities to accept Christ, the man had rejected God’s offer. The pain was given to call the man one more time. The pain was necessary as a strong measure because God knew the place the man was going without Christ was many times worse than the pain from cancer he was suffering. In other words, God was using the pain to call him to salvation one last time.

Tom’s words to this terminally ill man might sound harsh, but the Lord sometimes works His love and mercy even through the pain of life.

Thankfully, the man did accept Christ before passing into the Lord’s presence just several days later. (The following is the link to Tom’s recounting of this conversion experience:

Tom Hughes said:

It’s the same thing I see going on right now in America. You see it in the heart of Hollywood. God is shouting to people, “Hey, you better turn to me.” The Bible tells us what’s coming during the Tribulation period.

Wow, folks. God is screaming to us. He has blessed this country with great things–with so many good things, and instead of turning to the Lord, they are turning from Him. And God is shouting to us, because He knows the pain is coming [when His true wrath must punish those who reject His Son.]

For anybody…if you don’t know the Lord, ask Him to forgive you. He will forgive anybody who will come to Him.

Amen! The fires are a merciful call to repentance–perhaps a last, loving call to accept God’s order, rather than the anti-God way of wokeness and rebellion.

What painful calls to repentance might we expect as the time of the Tribulation grows closer by the hour? Once Jesus calls all believers to Himself in the Rapture, the pain will grow infinitely worse as God’s wrath pours out on God-rejecting humankind.

You don’t want to be part of that wrath and of Antichrist’s unprecedented evil.

Here’s how to accept Christ and be kept from that worst time of human history AND from the eternal, truly horrific fire—the lake of fire—following the final punishment of lost humankind at the great white throne judgment.

That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10: 9-10)

#1 Scientists in China have been able to get AI models to create “functioning replicas of themselves”…

Scientists say artificial intelligence (AI) has crossed a critical “red line” and has replicated itself. In a new study, researchers from China showed that two popular large language models (LLMs) could clone themselves.

“Successful self-replication under no human assistance is the essential step for AI to outsmart [humans], and is an early signal for rogue AIs,” the researchers wrote in the study, published Dec. 9, 2024 to the preprint database arXiv.

In the study, researchers from Fudan University used LLMs from Meta and Alibaba to determine whether a self-replicating AI could multiply beyond control. Across 10 trials, the two AI models created separate and functioning replicas of themselves in 50% and 90% of cases, respectively — suggesting AI may already have the capacity to go rogue.

What they are doing is literally insane.

One of the AI models was actually trained to clone itself and teach the clone it created to do the same thing. This could potentially set up “a cycle that could continue indefinitely”…

The study explored two specific scenarios: “shutdown avoidance” and “chain of replication.” In the first, the AI model was programmed to detect whether it was about to be shut down and to replicate itself before it could be terminated. In the other, the AI was instructed to clone itself and then program its replica to do the same — setting up a cycle that could continue indefinitely.

Could ultra-powerful, self-replicating AI entities become so powerful that they literally take over the entire planet?

And what would be the future of humanity in such a scenario?

Let us hope that we never find out.

#2 Do you remember Operation Warp Speed? That was a public-private partnership that was initiated during the first Trump administration, and we all know how that turned out.

Now another public-private partnership that has been dubbed “Stargate” is supposed to greatly accelerate the development of AI in the United States…

Three top tech firms on Tuesday announced that they will create a new company, called Stargate, to grow artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son and Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison appeared at the White House Tuesday afternoon alongside President Donald Trump to announce the company, which Trump called the “largest AI infrastructure project in history.”

The companies will invest $100 billion in the project to start, with plans to pour up to $500 billion into Stargate in the coming years.

We have never seen an AI project of this magnitude.

It is being claimed that this new project could ultimately develop “mRNA vaccines against cancer”…

And while there are plenty of legitimate concerns that come with letting Silicon Valley firms off the leash to pursue bleeding-edge AI at blinding speed, the conspiracist side of Trump’s coalition has particularly far-fetched notions of a worst-case scenario. Many of them fixated on remarks that billionaire Larry Ellison, founder and former CEO of Oracle and currently its chief technology officer, made at the White House on Tuesday. Ellison claimed that Stargate could lead to the AI-facilitated production of mRNA vaccines against cancer, explaining, “once we gene-sequence that cancer tumor, you can then vaccinate the person, design a vaccine for every individual person to vaccinate them against that cancer.” These mRNA vaccines, he speculated, could be designed “robotically,” or by leveraging AI, “in about 48 hours.”

This is a huge mistake.

Instead of greatly accelerating the development of AI, we should be hitting the brakes really hard before it is too late.

#3 Does creating an “artificial sun” sound like a good idea? Unfortunately, the Chinese have actually created such a thing, and they just set a new record by running it for 1,066 seconds…

China’s “artificial sun” reactor has broken its own world record for maintaining super-hot plasma, marking another milestone in the long road towards near-limitless clean energy.

The Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) nuclear fusion reactor maintained a steady, highly confined loop of plasma — the high-energy fourth state of matter — for 1,066 seconds on Monday (Jan. 20), which more than doubled its previous best of 403 seconds, Chinese state media reported.

Nuclear fusion reactors are nicknamed “artificial suns” because they generate energy in a similar way to the sun — by fusing two light atoms into a single heavy atom via heat and pressure. The sun has a lot more pressure than Earth’s reactors, so scientists compensate by using temperatures that are many times hotter than the sun.

#4 Anyone that has watched Jurassic Park knows that bringing back ancient species that have gone extinct is a really bad idea. But now a company called Colossal BioSciences plans to do exactly that…

Colossal BioSciences has raised $200 million in a new round of funding to bring back extinct species like the woolly mammoth.

Dallas- and Boston-based Colossal is making strides in the scientific breakthroughs toward “de-extinction,” or bringing back extinct species like the woolly mammoth, thylacine and the dodo.

I would be remiss if I did not mention this is the plot of Michael Crichton’s novel Jurassic Park, where scientists used the DNA found in mosquitoes preserved in amber to bring back the Tyrannosaurus Rex and other dinosaurs. I mean, what could go wrong when science fiction becomes reality?

#5 A whistleblower has told Joe Rogan that the U.S. military has mastered anti-gravity propulsion that is based on recovered alien technology…

Joe Rogan voiced ‘genuine fear’ after hearing whistleblower claims that the US military has mastered ‘alien’ anti-gravity technology.

The celebrity podcaster was joined by investigative journalist Michael Shellenberger, who said he has spoken to insiders with ‘direct evidence’ about the Pentagon’s long-rumored UFO ‘crash retrieval’ and ‘reverse engineering’ programs.

A staple of UFO lore dating back to the Roswell crash of 1947, these alleged efforts to reproduce the propulsion system of an alleged extraterrestrial spacecraft have long been linked to the US Air Force’s 70-year effort to crack ‘anti-gravity’ power.

Just because something is possible doesn’t mean that we should be doing it.

Once we create an artificial intelligence that is billions of times smarter than the average human, will we be able to control it?

And once we bring back ancient species from the dead, will we be able to control them?

As I have been relentlessly warning my readers, we are playing around with things that we do not understand.

Our society is on a suicidal path, and right now we are literally sowing the seeds of our own destruction.

Sadly, the leading minds in our society have absolutely no intention of pulling us back from the precipice.

Have you ever considered what’s in a name? What does your name mean? Parents have many different ways in naming their children. Some are generational—naming after family members. Others look at it from a Biblical perspective—naming after people in the Bible they would hope their children will be like. Some name their kids after trends. But names have meaning. And we often turn out like our names. We named our youngest son Christian because we dedicated him to the Lord the night he was born and we wanted to make sure he never forgot who’s he was. My name, William, named after my grandfather, means strong willed and protector. And that I am. But what of the name that gives eternal life?

God has many names that describe His glorious attributes and how they were experienced. The Name El Shaddai is equated with God’s provision and sustenance in the lives of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Name YHVH (Yud-Hey-Vav-Hey [ADONAI, LORD]” (from Exodus 6:2-3)) appears to be a play on the Hebrew verb hayah (“to be”), indicating that God is hayah hoveh ve’yiyeh, the One who is, the One who was, and the One who will be, the King of the Universe and source of all being. In Exodus 6:2-9:35, the Name YHVH accompanies the revelation of the four verbs of redemption: "I will free…deliver…redeem…take you” and indicates the direct experience of YHVH’s power, glory, and compassion

The forefathers of Israel had received a covenant from the LORD that they would become a nation and inherit land. Neither of these promises happened in their lifetimes, the families of the patriarchs at the close of Genesis were only about 70 people, and they were still in Egypt. But Israel grew into a nation, and God commissioned Moses to bring His people back to the land. YHVH in this instance means, He is the God who acts mightily in history to fulfill His promises! We see "the greater might” of YHVH—the signs and wonders, first Aaron’s staff turned into a snake and swallowed the Egyptian magician’s staffs. God then sends seven plagues upon the Egyptians. None of these plagues affected Goshen, where the Israelites lived. God redeemed His people with a mighty outstretched arm and led them out of bondage.

God’s name embodies all that he did and does. When we call on the name of the LORD and believe, there is redemptive power in that name. Eternal life. In Revelation 2:17, Christ says that to him who overcomes, he will give “a new name.” Isaiah 62:2 says, “you shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.” Throughout scripture, God has renamed people. Abram to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, Jacob to Israel, Simon to Peter, Saul to Paul, to name a few. God will rename us according to who we are and what He meant us to be. This reflects the transformation in our relationship with God who has the authority to redefine our identity and purpose to align us with his divine plan. It is also reflective of believers being new creations in Christ, whose name Yeshua in Hebrew means salvation. Now you know what’s in a name.

Daily Devotion: A Final Prayer

Jesus and His disciples were together for about three years. There’s no telling how many times they prayed together during that time. In John 17, He prays with them for one of the last times before His arrest.

There are three parts to His prayer. In verses 1–5, Jesus prays for Himself. He was facing unimaginable suffering. He was about to take the punishment for the world’s sins. He was about to experience His Father’s perfect wrath.

That explains why Jesus wanted to confirm the connection between them. “Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you” (verse 1 NLT). Jesus was ready to complete God’s mission. To finish the work of salvation. To make eternal life possible. When we picture eternity, we may think of heavenly streets of gold and angels praising God. But Jesus said eternal life is “to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth” (verse 3 NLT).

Jesus also revealed the primary purpose for His saving work: to glorify God. And if we follow Him, that should be our primary purpose too. The apostle Paul wrote, “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NLT). Everything we do, from the biggest moments of our lives to the smallest daily decisions, is an opportunity to give glory to God. That’s what we were created to do. And that’s where we find genuine fulfillment and joy.

In verses 6–19, Jesus prays for His disciples. Those men would face the consequences of their discipleship. All but one, John, would follow Jesus to their deaths at the hands of their enemies. But they were equipped for battle. Jesus said, “Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world” (verse 18 NLT). Jesus asked God to protect them—not only from the persecution to come but also from spiritual doubt and despair. Jesus would no longer be around to encourage them and lift their spirits. He wanted to make sure they were prepared for what lay ahead.

The key to spiritual well-being is joy. Jesus prayed, “Now I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy” (verse 13 NLT).

If your joy has diminished, ask God to restore it, as the psalmist did in Psalm 51:8. In Matthew 21:22, Jesus says, “You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it” (NLT). God wants to ignite the spark of joy within you so that you can see the world from His perspective.

In verses 20–26, Jesus prays for all believers. His chief request is that we remain unified. There’s strength in numbers. If we can trust that our fellow believers are allies, our ministry benefits. Unity is also a way of identifying believers. God wants unbelievers to see the closeness that exists among us. That can be a powerful draw for some. Our mission is to communicate God’s love to the world. Unity is one of the most powerful tools we have to accomplish it.
