The restoration of the Jews to the Promised Land is one of the most staggeringly overt fulfillments of Bible prophecy to occur in the last 2,000 years.
The Hebrew prophets all foretold an eventual restoration of Israel, even addressing the future state by name, in some cases centuries after Israel had ceased to exist.
Jesus said,
“Learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh; So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled” (Matthew 24:32-34).

How would the American people respond if they suddenly saw images of a U.S. aircraft carrier burning after it had been destroyed by an overwhelming Iranian assault? If the U.S. attacks Iran, and that appears to be very likely at this stage, the USS Abraham Lincoln will almost certainly be targeted by the Iranians. In a previous article, I wrote about how the Abraham Lincoln’s defenses could be overwhelmed by a massive barrage of either missiles or drones. In particular, if I was in command of the Abraham Lincoln I would be deeply concerned about Iran’s SS-N-22 Sunburn anti-ship missile batteries. Staying out of range of those missiles will be of the utmost importance, because they come in at an absolutely blistering pace.
Nobody can deny that Iranian leaders have been thinking about sinking a carrier. On Sunday, they unveiled a giant billboard in Enghelab Square that conveys quite an ominous message…

Again, I state that the end-of-days scenarios I lay out in this essay are speculation based upon my years of prayer, study, observations, and thought. I’m sure there are many who view things to come in a much different way, even among those of us who hold to the premillennial, pre-Tribulation view. So, I present this for your consideration as a likely possibility, not as set in biblical stone.
First, let’s look at the way the world is configured.
The United States of America is the world’s lone superpower. Whether looking at military, economic, societal, technological, or whatever category we want to look at, America stands alone at the top of the nation-heap. I use the word “heap” because this world is built upon garbage—filth from the heart and mind of its father, the devil. Boy! I know how cynical that seems. But God says no one is good but One: “And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou e good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God” (Mark 10:18).

We were expecting global events to accelerate in 2026, but what we have witnessed throughout the month of January so far has been quite a shock to the system. Everywhere around us, things are going totally haywire. Gold and silver are skyrocketing in price, we are on the verge of a cataclysmic war with Iran, conflict has erupted on the streets of major U.S. cities, and we just keep getting hammered by natural disaster after natural disaster. So many things are happening that I couldn’t pick just one to write about, and so I am throwing a whole bunch of stuff into this article. The following are 10 ways that global events just went completely bonkers…

On January 17, the Catholic-led Patriarchs and Heads of the Churches in Jerusalem issued a statement declaring themselves the sole authority “in matters pertaining to Christian religious, communal, and pastoral life in the Holy Land.” The statement went further, warning that other Christians advance “damaging ideologies, such as Christian Zionism,” which allegedly mislead the public and harm church unity. These churches view themselves as the rightful heirs of God’s promises, while Jews and Christians who affirm Israel’s enduring covenant are cast as theological disruptors. This Catholic and Vatican-led body includes Greek Orthodox, Armenian, Coptic, Syriac, Ethiopian, and Anglican churches in Jerusalem.
The Vatican-aligned InfoVaticana website defines Christian Zionism “as support for the State of Israel and the Zionist project as a fulfillment of biblical prophecy, framed as a political and cultural agenda.” Yet for many evangelicals, Christian Zionism is simpler and older than modern geopolitics. It rests on the belief that God’s covenant with Israel is enduring and not revoked, and that Israel remains integral to the biblical narrative. In contrast, Catholicism’s replacement theology was historically openly taught and enforced. Jews were portrayed as rejected, while the Catholic Church was presented as the sole heir of God’s promises, leaving little room for Israel’s ongoing covenantal dignity. That theology did not remain theoretical. It shaped sermons, laws, art, expulsions, and violence.
At Vatican II the Catholic Church revised its tone without issuing a clear institutional confession that replacement theology was wrong and harmful. However, this statement by the Roman Catholic Church and the Vatican (among others) clearly falls into the category of both replacement theology and denigrating protestants as harmful, misleading and damaging. Guess what? They quoted Romans 12:5 to justify their position, “we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” Which is the same single verse they use to claim sole authority of the “Church.” In other words, if you are not part of them, you are not of the body of Christ—this is in of itself replacement theology by claiming authority over both Jews and non-Catholic Christians, echoing the very replacement logic the Church insists it has abandoned.
Israel365 News summarized the concern plainly, calling the statement the “Catholic Church’s most direct assault yet on the millions of evangelical Christians whose biblical interpretation leads them to support the Jewish state,” and condemning Christians who support the Jewish people’s return to their ancestral homeland. They also are calling the blessing of Israel a “damaging ideology.” If Romans is the battleground, one isolated verse should not be used. Chapters 9-12 are a master class on God’s concept of unity. Gentiles were grafted into the Jewish root, not the other way around, and Paul issues a warning that should sober every institution claiming spiritual primacy: “For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not thee.”

Jesus interacted with a remarkably diverse group of people during His public ministry. The Gospels record His encounters with Pharisees, tax collectors, Roman officials, fishermen, a Samaritan woman, and a host of others.
One of the extraordinary things about these encounters is the personalized attention He gave each person, whether He was offering encouragement, rebuke, or healing. He recognized that every man, every woman, and every child is different. And though they have many of the same problems and the same basic needs, He realized that there were unique things about them that required individual ministry. He saw people for exactly who they were. He understood exactly what they needed. And He provided it.
It’s no wonder people refer to Him as the Great Physician. Jesus Himself said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance” (Mark 2:17 NKJV).
Like a physician, Jesus usually saw people at their worst. I’ve always thought that one of the hardest things about being a doctor is that you only see people when they’re sick or in need of medical assistance. Most physicians don’t get a lot of patients stopping by their office to say, “Hey, Doc, I’m feeling great! I just wanted to let you know. Want to go to lunch?” You don’t usually call your doctor when you’re feeling good. You call when you’re feeling sick. And your doctor will have you come in, examine you, and apply the necessary treatment to the area of need.
Doctors, of course, are limited in their areas of expertise. Cardiologists specialize in heart health. Dermatologists specialize in matters of the skin. Gastroenterologists specialize in digestive system health. Hematologists specialize in blood disorders. Oncologists specialize in cancer treatment. The list goes on and on.
Jesus, on the other hand, can treat the whole person. He caused the blind to see, the deaf to hear, the disabled to walk, and the dead to live. He removed the spiritual torment of the demon-possessed. He eased the emotional struggles of the frightened and grieving. He didn’t just improve people’s quality of life; He gave them a life they never knew was possible. That’s what He meant when He said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 NKJV).
Jesus still provides personalized care for His people. He knows what you need. In fact, He knows better than you do what you need. And He can and will provide it. Reach out to Him. Open yourself to His loving ministry. Let Him guide you into the life He has planned for you. Enjoy all the benefits of having a personal Physician.
