Israel, Take Heart — God Will Judge Your Enemies

You have probably heard it said that in the Bible the minor prophets deliver a major message. One such minor prophet was Obadiah who dealt with the subject of God’s judgement against Edom. Because of Edom’s location along a major trade route and its impregnable rock fortress, they had what most nations covet – prosperity and security. But, like many nations today they also had pride and a burning hatred for God’s chosen people.

It was the great cruelty that the Edomites showed against God’s chosen people which resulted in their eventual judgement. Noting that Obadiah only contains one chapter, this is outlined in verses 10 to 14: “For violence against your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever. In the day that you stood on the other side – in the day that strangers carried captive his forces, when foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem – even you were as one of them. But you should not have gazed on the day of your brother in the day of his captivity; nor should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; nor should you have spoken proudly in the day of distress. You should not have entered the gate of My people in the day of their calamity. Indeed, you should not have gazed on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity. You should not have stood at the crossroads to cut off those among them who escaped; nor should you have delivered up those among them who remained in the day of distress.”

There is disagreement amongst Bible scholars as to which event Obadiah is referencing. Although there are four possible occasions, most favor one of two – a date of around the 840’s BC when the Philistines and Arabians attacked Jerusalem when King Jehoram was reigning or the time of the Babylonian invasion of 586BC. Although that portion of the prophecy has been fulfilled, what interests me is that there is a very similar mindset adopted by Israel’s neighbors today which mirrors the actions and attitude of the Edomites. But, just like the Edomites, what the enemies of Israel completely overlook is that there will be an eventual reaping of what they have sowed. Obadiah 15 to 16 reads: “For the day of the LORD upon all the nations is near; as you have done, it shall be done to you; your reprisal shall return upon your own head. For as you drank on my holy mountain, so shall all the nations drink continually. Yes, they shall drink, and swallow, and they shall be as though they had never been.”

There are currently many nations who are looking on gleefully at the violence perpetrated against Israel. However, although they celebrate warring, they remain blind to God’s warning. You see, whilst those nations may drink from a cup of celebration, all of the nations will one day drink of the cup of wrath that God will hand them as judgement for their treatment of His chosen people. Two verses come to mind on this point: Psalm 75:8 says: “For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is fully mixed, and He pours it out; surely its dregs shall all the wicked of the earth drain and drink down.”

Zechariah 12:2-3 says: “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.”

Scholars are divided over the question of Edomite descendancy today, with some arguing that the Edomite line was completely destroyed. Whether or not they still exist as a distinct people group, there is no question that the spirit of the Edomites resides in the hearts of Middle Eastern leaders in the present day. In Ezekiel 36:5 we read this: Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Surely I have spoken in My burning jealousy against the rest of the nations and against all Edom, who gave My land to themselves as a possession, with wholehearted joy and spiteful minds, in order to plunder its open country.” Then and now the nations surrounding Israel want to destroy the Jews, possess the land and plunder its people and property.

But I want you to note the closing phrase of Obadiah: and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S. As difficult as things are and as difficult as things will be for the Jewish people in the future Tribulation Period, how wonderful it is to consider the glorious Millennial Kingdom when Messiah will rule and reign. You see, the great hope in Obadiah is not just a temporary reprieve through the raising up of judges or kings, but a peaceful age initiated and ruled by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We know this to be true because of Zechariah 14:9: “And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be – ‘The LORD is one,’ and His name one. This is also affirmed in Revelation 11:15: Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!'”

In that day idolatry will cease, false worship will cease, ludicrous UN resolutions against Israel will cease; media propaganda demonizing Israel will cease and violence against the Jews will cease. What a day that will be. Maranatha!

Is The Stage Being Set for Damascus to Be Utterly Destroyed and Turned into A Heap of Ruins?

The Sunni radicals that have taken over Syria are demanding that all Israeli forces must leave Syrian territory. On the other side, the IDF is hammering military targets in southern Syria with a blistering wave of airstrikes, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists that any military forces aligned with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham will not be allowed south of Damascus. Do you understand what this means? It means that Damascus is now right on the front lines of a conflict between Israel and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham that is rapidly heating up. If all-out war erupts, Damascus is likely to be absolutely devastated.

Of course many prominent buildings in Damascus have already been turned into piles of rubble, but now it appears that things could be about to go to the next level.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has confirmed that IDF airstrikes are being conducted in southern Syria, and he is warning that any attempt by forces aligned with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham to enter the security zone in southern Syria “will be met with fire”…

Israel confirmed it is conducting strikes in southern Syria, as the new Syrian government calls for the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Syrian territory.

“We will not allow southern Syria to become southern Lebanon,” Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said regarding the strikes. “Any attempt by the Syrian regime forces and the country’s terrorist organizations to establish themselves in the security zone in southern Syria will be met with fire.”

Katz said the Israeli Air Force is “now attacking strongly in southern Syria as part of the new policy we have defined of pacifying southern Syria.”

So just how large is the security zone in southern Syria?

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, no Syrian military forces will be allowed to “enter the area south of Damascus”…

In a speech to Israeli military cadets on Sunday, Netanyahu said that Israel would not allow the forces of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) – the Islamist group that led the overthrow of Assad – nor the new Syrian army that is being formed to “enter the area south of Damascus”.

“We demand the complete demilitarisation of southern Syria in the provinces of Quneitra, Deraa and Suweida from the forces of the new regime,” he added. “Likewise, we will not tolerate any threat to the Druze community in southern Syria.”

He also said that Israeli forces would remain indefinitely inside the Syrian territory that they have seized since Assad’s fall last December – which would be a shift in Israeli strategy.

Wow.

To call this “a shift in Israeli strategy” is a major understatement.

The forces of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham will be allowed to control Damascus, but they will not be allowed to come any farther than that.

Needless to say, the leaders of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham are not too keen on that idea.

To me, it appears that a showdown is inevitable.

Of course the truth is that war has already begun. As Zero Hedge has noted, the IDF has been pummeling targets inside Syria for months…

Since that early December regime change, Israel has bombed sites all across Syria – in literally hundreds of operations – largely targeting former Syrian Army bases, weapons storehouses, parked aircraft, and chemical weapons production sites.

Given that Syria had for over half-a-century been Israel’s number one Iran-aligned foe, and long had the best anti-air defenses in the region, Israel has sought to make sure it can never return to that status again.

Meanwhile, the Egyptians have been mobilizing forces in the Sinai Peninsula, and one Israeli official is expressing concern that this could potentially become an “eighth front” in the war…

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has often spoken about the seven-front war that Israel has been fighting since the Hamas massacre and kidnappings on October 7th, 2023.

Recently, however, Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter expressed concern about a potential eighth front in the war: a military buildup by the Egyptian military in the Sinai Peninsula.

Talk of moving the Palestinians out of Gaza is the primary reason why the Egyptians are freaking out.

And President Trump poured more fuel on that fire this week by posting an AI-generated video of what “Trump Gaza” might look like…

On top of everything else, it appears that the bombing of Iran is likely to happen sooner rather than later.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that “Iran has sharply increased its stockpile of highly enriched uranium in recent weeks”…

Iran has sharply increased its stockpile of highly enriched uranium in recent weeks, according to a confidential United Nations report, as Tehran amasses a critical raw material for atomic weapons.

The increase in Iran’s holdings of uranium enriched to 60%, or nearly weapons grade, would be enough to produce six nuclear weapons.

Iran is now producing enough fissile material in a month for one nuclear weapon, according to the report, which was reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

This is a bombshell.

It is put up or shut up time for President Trump and the Israeli government.

We have been told over and over again that they will never allow Iran to have nuclear weapons.

And the Iranians have absolutely no intention of backing down.

So either President Trump and the Israeli government will now have to accept a nuclear Iran, or they will have to attack.

I have a feeling that we will see option number two in the not too distant future.

The Iranians apparently think so as well, because they are on alert for a major attack “every night”…

“They [Iranian authorities] are just waiting for the attack and are anticipating it every night and everything has been on high alert – even in sites that no one knows about,” one source told The Telegraph.

“Work to fortify nuclear sites has been ongoing for years but it has intensified over the past year, particularly since Israel launched the first attack,” he added.

“Recent developments, including Donald Trump’s comments and reports about potential plans from his administration to strike Iran, have further intensified activities.”

As I have repeatedly stated, most of the facilities where Iran’s nuclear program is being developed are deep underground.

It will take extremely powerful weapons to take those facilities out.

Once a bombing campaign begins, the situation in the Middle East will go completely nuts.

Interestingly, this is all happening as a very unusual parade of 7 planets is on display in the night sky.

And next month there will be a blood moon eclipse on Purim.

So many extremely strange things have been happening in recent months, and it all started with the Great American Eclipse of 2024.

We really are living in apocalyptic times.

Unfortunately, most of the population doesn’t seem to have figured that out yet.

Iran Puts Its Nuclear Sites on High Alert Over Fears of Joint US-Israeli Attack

Iran has placed its defense systems around nuclear sites on high alert amid growing fears of a potential attack by Israel and the United States, The Telegraph has learned. This move reflects Tehran's heightened concerns over escalating tensions and the possibility of military action against its nuclear program.

Increased Military Readiness

According to two high-level government sources, Iran has not only bolstered its defenses around key nuclear and missile sites but has also deployed additional air defense system launchers. These measures have been taken in response to increasing warnings from US intelligence that Israel may attempt to target Iran's nuclear infrastructure this year.

One Iranian source stated, "They [Iranian authorities] are just waiting for the attack and are anticipating it every night and everything has been on high alert--even in sites that no one knows about." He added that Iran's efforts to fortify its nuclear sites have intensified, particularly following Israel's previous strikes on Iranian assets.

Recent developments, including statements from former US President Donald Trump and reports of possible military plans under his administration, have further fueled Iran's defensive preparations. Trump has previously endorsed Israeli actions against Iran's nuclear facilities, and his re-election campaign has been accompanied by rhetoric supporting a hardline approach to Tehran.

Iran's Air Defense Challenges

Iran's air defense capabilities include domestically developed systems as well as Russian-supplied S-300 missile systems. However, military analysts suggest these defenses may not be sufficient to counter Israel's advanced weaponry. Iran has been pressuring Russia to expedite the delivery of S-400 missile systems, which could provide better protection against potential Israeli airstrikes.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) aerospace force commander, General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, recently announced that Tehran is also developing a ballistic missile defense system. He acknowledged deficiencies in the country's existing defenses, stating that recent attacks had exposed vulnerabilities in Iran's air defense network.

"In every meeting that I, along with [IRGC] commander [Hossein] Salami and [Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces] commander [Mohammad] Bagheri, had with the Supreme Leader, his first question was always: 'What happened? Where does it stand?'" Hajizadeh said. He confirmed that the new defense system is expected to be operational by March, with deployments planned for Tehran and several other major cities.

Rising Regional Tensions

Israel and Iran have been engaged in a long-running shadow war, primarily fought through proxy groups and covert operations. However, the conflict has escalated significantly since the war in Gaza began in 2023, with both nations launching direct attacks on each other's military assets.

In October 2023, Iran carried out an unprecedented attack on Israel, firing over 200 missiles. Israel responded with precision airstrikes targeting Iranian positions, further heightening tensions. Iran now fears that an Israeli attack on its nuclear facilities--potentially with US support--could be imminent.

Iran's vulnerabilities have been exacerbated by broader geopolitical challenges, including setbacks to its regional allies. The weakening of Iranian proxy groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, combined with the declining influence of Syria's Bashar al-Assad, has placed additional pressure on Tehran. Analysts suggest these factors have emboldened Israel and the US to consider direct action against Iran's nuclear program.

US-Israel Cooperation on Iran Strategy

The prospect of a joint US-Israeli strike remains a significant concern for Tehran. While Israel has the capability to carry out precision attacks, the distance between the two countries presents logistical challenges, particularly in terms of mid-air refueling and intelligence support.

Jason Brodsky, policy director of United Against Nuclear Iran, highlighted that the US could support an Israeli operation in multiple ways, including intelligence sharing, aerial reconnaissance, and supplying advanced weaponry. "The US can support it politically, the US can support it in terms of intelligence reconnaissance and aerial refueling capabilities, also the US can support in transferring advanced munitions and delivery vehicles to be able to destroy Iran's nuclear program," he explained.

Washington's position on Iran remains complex. While the Biden administration has sought diplomatic engagement, the Trump administration pursued a maximum pressure campaign aimed at crippling Iran's economy and preventing it from acquiring nuclear weapons. Trump has indicated that if negotiations with Iran fail, he is prepared to consider military options to halt its nuclear ambitions.

Michael Waltz, the US national security adviser, recently reaffirmed that "all options are on the table" regarding Iran. He warned that Tehran remains an unpredictable actor and must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. "They [Iran] are an irrational actor that we cannot allow to have their finger on the button," Waltz said.

Future Scenarios

With tensions at an all-time high, Iran is seeking ways to revive the 2015 nuclear deal, from which the Trump administration withdrew in 2018. However, the US and Israel are pushing for complete Iranian disarmament--a demand Tehran is unlikely to accept.

Brodsky noted that as long as both sides maintain maximalist positions, diplomatic solutions will remain elusive. "As long as both sides are speaking with such demands, there is unlikely to be a sustainable diplomatic settlement to this issue and that necessitates the US to develop a very robust pressure architecture," he said.

Iran's military drills in the southeast city of Konarak underscore its readiness for potential conflict. However, with Israel increasingly vocal about taking decisive action against Iran's nuclear program, and the US maintaining a firm stance, the risk of a large-scale military confrontation continues to grow.

Are We Entering a Golden Age or the Abyss?

I’ve recently heard numerous Christian leaders expressing the same sentiment that we have just entered a time of peace, safety, and national and even global blessing. I’m thankful for the pro-life, pro-women, and assertive national security about-face our nation has taken. Regardless of your or my feelings about President Trump, he is shaking things up everywhere with all the subtlety of a bull in a china shop. How it all turns out remains to be seen. Although many Christian leaders think we’ve just entered a golden age, I strongly disagree. Because Bible prophecy points toward a widespread false sense of security, then coming destruction.

Let’s consider the realities we face as believers in the supposed peace in our time (1 Thessalonians 5:3).

The Bible describes cascading events like false peace and wars leading to the Lord’s return. Jesus referred to this time as “birth pains and beginning of sorrows.” No one knows the day or hour of His coming except for the Lord, but we are told to discern the times. On one hand, we shouldn’t live in fear. But we also shouldn’t become complacent and assume things will remain peaceful and live a business-as-usual Christian life just because everything seems normal now because it isn’t.

Let’s look at our current global situation together to discern whether we’re entering the dawn of a worldwide golden age or on the edge of the abyss.

Pestilence

In Revelation 6:8, we find death from war, famine, and pestilence, resulting in the deaths of many people, perhaps billions. Moreover, in Matthew 24:22, Jesus mentioned that no one would be left alive unless the days were shortened. Look at what happened in just the last five years with COVID-19. I used to read Luke 21:11 and Revelation 6:8 and wondered how pestilence could affect us in our modern age. I don’t wonder anymore, and now we have to consider a potential Bird Flu outbreak, as it has been reported just today by major news outlets that avian influenza that recently infected dairy cattle in Nevada has a genetic change that’s thought to help the virus copy itself in mammals — including humans — more efficiently. These events, including pestilences, will only increase in frequency and severity.

Wars and rumors of wars

One might glance at the global situation and see just a few areas of tension, including the war in Ukraine, saber-rattling in the South China Sea, and the Israel-Hamas War. If we take a closer look at the potential for spillover and escalation, these areas are anything but isolated events and can potentially lead to global conflict. Retired four-star Army General Jack Keane and other experts have stated that we’re in a pre-war era. Chinese President Xi instructed the PLA [People’s Liberation Army] and military leadership to be ready by 2027 to invade Taiwan. China has the world’s largest navy, a growing nuclear arsenal, and the will to fight. Chinese are finding multiple backdoors into our critical infrastructure to be able to cripple America at the onset of any US-China conflict.

Although Russia’s war with Ukraine has them entrenched there, they have strong ties in the Middle East and future aspirations, according to scripture. At this time, it’s reported that Russia sent several Sukhoi-35 fighter jets to Iran. Assad is gone from Syria, but the group in power now is no friend to Israel or the West. Although wars killed millions in past centuries, never in history have we reached a point where the whole of humanity could be destroyed many times over until the atomic age. Evil men in the past could only dream of having this kind of power, but now it’s as simple as possessing a launch code.

President Trump’s proposal for the Gaza Strip just grabbed the world’s attention, along with resurfaced 2018 comments made by Defense Secretary Hegseth that, “There’s no reason why the miracle of the re-establishment of the temple on the Temple Mount is not possible.” Daniel 9:27, Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:15, and 2 Thessalonians 2:4 don’t seem like something that will happen in the distant future but in the coming years.

One world economy and government

Many nations want to escape the US dollar, including its sanctions and tariffs, and the BRICS alliance was formed to challenge the dominant G7 wealthy economies, especially the US. The global financial system is fragile at best, and there are plans for digital currencies everywhere. There’s never been a time in history when the technology and potential to control international commerce has existed until now. It’s just a matter of time before a series of events and Satan’s man comes along and makes it happen (Revelation 13:17).

Space doesn’t permit me to go into the role AI may play in the end-time scenario at length, but the recent advancements in AI are happening rapidly and unfettered, to the point where we seem to be nearing a Tower of Babel moment again. Moreover, the ability of AI to mimic a person’s voice and even appear to make someone speak blurs the line between truth and lies. Can you imagine what could happen when the False Prophet, under the control of Satan, harnesses the power of AI, surveillance, and the global economy? They will deceive billions of people into worshiping the Antichrist and his image with lying signs and wonders. Spiritual deception will be the norm, not the exception, as we near the close of the age.

Put your hope in the Prince of Peace

Dear friends, as I close, I want to remind you that Jesus is coming soon. Although it appears to many people that we’re entering a golden age, a realistic view of our current world in light of end-time Bible prophecy shows otherwise. We should pray for our leaders and obey them, but Psalm 118:8-9 and Jeremiah 17:5 warn us not to place our confidence in men, including any President, Prime Minister, or King, but only in the One who will bring lasting peace.

If you are a Christian, I encourage you to give Rome what belongs to Rome and prioritize sharing the gospel because the time is almost up for compelling people to come in (Luke 14:23). If you don’t know Jesus as your Savior, please understand that God’s righteous judgment will soon fall. The only way to be sure you will go to heaven is to come to saving faith in Jesus. It’s my hope and the hope of many other Christians that you will make Jesus your Lord while there’s still time.

Americans are shocked that there are millions of people who are well over 100 years old on the Social Security rolls. In fact, there are 12,422,966 people over the age of 120 on the Social Security rolls. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) leader Elon Musk says Social Security Administration data indicates the number of people eligible for Social Security is more than 398 million, yet the Census Bureau estimates the national population to be roughly 341 million. In a February 17 tweet on X, Musk said that “This might be the biggest fraud in history.” The Guinness Book of World records reports that the world’s oldest living person is 116, but Social Security rolls have people older than that by more than double. It gets worse.

President Trump on February 18 read down the list and it just got more incredible the further he went. He said, “From 90 to 99, Social Security: 6,054,000 people. Well, that’s okay. Maybe that’s possible. You know, 90 to 99. Maybe it’s possible….But people that live to 100 to 109: 4,734,000. Wow, that’s a lot. That means over 100 years old. There are 4 million people…people that are 120 years old, up to 129: 3,472,000 people. Wow…People from 130 years old to 139 years old: 3,936,000. Wow. I wonder if people are getting paid with all this. I mean, are these checks — and that’s what we’re checking right now. People from 140 years old to 149 years old: 3,542,000. A hundred and forty years old and beyond. Now — now we’re really going because we’re looking to break the record by 25 years.

“People from 150 years old to 159 years old: 1,345,000…Wait a minute. People from 160 years old to 169 years: 121,000. So, 160-year-old people. A hundred and seventy to a hundred and seventy-nine: six thousand oh-eighty-seven. But now let’s go into the real numbers. From 200 to 209 years old: 879 people. From 210 years old — I haven’t met any of them. And if I did, I’d — I would bless them. I would — I would worship the ground they walk on. Two hundred and ten to two hundred and nineteen years: eight hundred and sixty-six. From 220 years old to 229 years old: 1,039. And then, you have two people–from 240 years old to 249 years old: one person. And there’s one person that’s 360 years old.”

Social Security’s Acting Commissioner Lee Dudek released a statement the same day saying he welcomes DOGE audits, but that we should pump the brakes before drawing conclusions. Dudek said, “The reported data are people in our records with a Social Security number who do not have a date of death associated with their record. These individuals are not necessarily receiving benefits.” But see, this is a huge problem. It’s not only Social Security with dead people still on the rolls, the voter rolls have a lot more dead people, which opens the door to a whole mess of fraud—Social Security, money laundering, human trafficking, voter integrity—to name a few. The 9th Commandment is “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” Well, somebody has been perpetrating a labyrinth of lies for a long time. And there is much darkness in them.

The Bible is the source of some of the most famous quotes in all of literature. “A fool and his money are soon parted” comes from Proverbs 21:20. “A house divided against itself cannot stand,” which was quoted by Abraham Lincoln in a speech on the eve of the Civil War, comes from Matthew 12:25. “Go the extra mile” comes from Matthew 5:41. And “You reap what you sow” comes from Galatians 6:7.

God’s Word also contains some of the most familiar stories ever written. Even people who have never cracked the spine of a Bible can tell you about Noah’s Ark, David and Goliath, Daniel in the lion’s den, or Hezekiah’s purification of the temple (okay, maybe not that one).

There’s a lot to admire in the Bible. But God doesn’t want us to be admirers of His Word. He doesn’t want us to be appreciators or bystanders. He wants us to be active participants. He wants us to apply those famous quotes to the decisions we make every day. He wants us to find common ground with people who were faithful to God in those familiar stories. He wants us to take steps to avoid the fate of the people who weren’t faithful.

The Bible contains wisdom that can be applied to practically any area of your life. The key is knowing how to make the connection. For instance, in 1 Corinthians 13:4–7, the apostle Paul writes, “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance” (NLT).

The way you connect these words to your life will depend on your relationship. You might resolve to learn to tolerate—or maybe even appreciate—certain quirks or habits of your spouse that try your patience. You might take steps to deal with your feelings of jealousy. You might apologize for times when you demanded your own way or brought up things your spouse did in the past.

Maybe you’re struggling in your relationship. Maybe you and your spouse have even talked about ending it. If you turn the words of 1 Corinthians 13 into a plan of action, you might choose instead not to give up. You might ask God to strengthen your faith—in Him and in one another. You might look for signs of hope that you can build on. You might talk to a Christian counselor to find ways to endure together.

If you study God’s Word for the purpose of doing what it says, you can change your relationship—and every other area of your life—in ways you can’t imagine.
