(Tel Aviv, Israel) — Hamas has chosen to return to war, and by choosing not to release the kidnapped Israeli hostages from Gaza, the terrorists have chosen death.

The “gates of hell” have reopened in Gaza. Israeli fighter jets resumed targeted military operations on Hamas positions Tuesday morning, eliminating many high-ranking terror leaders. For three weeks, Hamas has refused to release a single Israeli hostage and rejected serious proposals brokered by President Donald Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff.

Today, the message from the White House and Israel is clear: the carrot of diplomacy has been replaced by the heavy stick of military power.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, stated that “The Trump administration and the White House were consulted by the Israelis on their attacks in Gaza tonight.”

“As President Trump has made it clear,” she continued, “Hamas, the Houthis, Iran, all those who seek to terrorize not just Israel, but also the United States of America, will see a price to pay—all hell will break loose.”

Israeli intelligence shows Hamas exploited Israel during the ceasefire, taking advantage of the calm to recruit 30,000 new fighters and restore rocket launching capability. The IDF says the terrorists were preparing new attacks on Israeli civilians and infrastructure, including potential strikes on Israeli railways. That imminent threat demanded immediate action.

“All of the terrorists in the Middle East, again, the Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas, Iranian-backed terror proxies, and Iran themselves, should take President Trump very seriously when he says he is not afraid to stand for law-abiding people,” Leavitt further warned. “He is not afraid to stand up for the United States of America and our friend and our ally, Israel.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office (PMO) says the decision to return to military action was not made lightly.

“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have instructed the IDF to take strong action against the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip,” the PMO announced on Tuesday. “This follows Hamas’s repeated refusal to release our hostages, as well as its rejection of all of the proposals it has received from US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and from the mediators.”

“The IDF is, at this time, attacking targets of the Hamas terrorist organization throughout the Gaza Strip in order to achieve the objectives of the war as they have been determined by the political echelon, including the release of all of our hostages, the living and the deceased,” the statement underscored. “Israel will, from now on, act against Hamas with increasing military strength.”

Remember those deranged hostage handover ceremonies when Hamas allowed the people of Gaza to humiliate and intimidate the Israelis, forcing them to smile and wave, even giving them goodie bags? Those weren’t humanitarian gestures. They were calculated displays of power designed to signal terror sympathizers that Hamas is still in control.

What about the 59 remaining hostages? Sadly, we don’t know how many are alive or dead. What we do know is that Hamas doesn’t respond to diplomatic pressure. Terrorists only speak one language: Force.

Karoline Leavitt added in her interview with Hannity: “President Trump inherited a lot of problems because of the incompetence and the weakness of the Biden-Harris administration, but he is focused on fixing them, and our allies and our adversaries better take him seriously.”

Hamas forced Israel to defend itself and its people after invading on October 7. Now, Israel’s patience has run out.

China’s Rise in the End Times

People have increasingly asked whether China appears in end-time Bible prophecy. While the Bible doesn’t identify China specifically, it does mention a coalition of nations called The Kings of the East. These nations will use a dried-up Euphrates River to move their armies and gather for battle at Armageddon. China’s growing economic, technological, and military power makes it the elephant in the world’s living room that we can’t ignore. Let’s examine how China’s rise in the end times could affect us as individuals and globally.

In Revelation 16:12, a group of nations is mentioned as the Kings of the East, who are described as having the way prepared to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty. Who makes up this Eastern coalition of nations? I’m not proclaiming, “Thus says the Lord,” but it is hard to imagine an end-time scenario where this coalition from the East doesn’t include China. Coming to this conclusion was simple because, just in the last century, after thousands of years, Israel is back in her ancient homeland, with Jerusalem reestablished as the eternal capital.

This is a critical point for two reasons. First, the whole reason for the world’s armies gathering at Armageddon is an attack on Israel, which wasn’t possible until our time. Second, despite its rich history, China existed for thousands of years as a third-world backwater nation without prominence on the world stage. Since the year 2000, China’s rise to power has been undeniable, along with its new designation as a superpower. Without a drastic change, China will likely lead the Kings of the East to Armageddon.

As we take a closer look at China’s dramatic rise in the end times, let’s consider the economic powerhouse it’s become.

On October 14, 2014, the IMF reported that China had surpassed the US as the world’s largest economy. This new designation is pivotal because the continued growth of China’s economy fuels its massive military buildup. China is still amid a major economic slump due to a real estate crisis and a sharp decline in investment growth over the last few years. The US and China are in an economic Chess match, and just this week, the Trump Administration and China are rolling out reciprocal export controls.

Although China’s economic growth has slowed, it hasn’t stopped it from making wide-ranging agreements with weaker nations across the globe. This is troubling because, in exchange for giving these nations renewed infrastructure, such as airports and seaports, China is setting up security stations and access to distant blue-water ports in strategic locations worldwide to project its naval power, especially westward.

Looking at China’s rise in the end times, we must consider its incredible technological advances in the last decade. China excels in emerging tech, such as quantum computing, drones, and advanced robotics. Consider the rapid strides in AI with the recent breakthroughs of DeepSeek, a Chinese-owned tech company described as having upended AI. China also has the world’s most complex mass surveillance network, with over 200 million CCTV cameras, facial recognition, infrared capabilities, social credit scores, and ominous prophetic implications.

China has launched numerous advanced satellites into orbit, including Ludi, which operates 22,370 miles above the Earth’s surface, granting China persistent surveillance over one-third of the Earth’s surface. US military analysts are concerned because it gives China constant visual and radar surveillance over strategically important areas. Beijing’s strategy to outpace the West, especially the US, is called civil-military fusion, an effort to develop cutting-edge technologies with military applications.

We’ve considered China’s monumental economic and tech rise; now, let’s look at its rapid military buildup.

I wrote an article about the growing Chinese military threat over ten years ago, in 2014. Since then, China passed the US in one decade to have the world’s largest navy. China has deployed hypersonic weapons systems to overwhelm the US and its allies’ missile defense. China had approximately 260 nuclear warheads in 2014; now, they have over 600 operational warheads. They are on pace to have nearly 1,000 deliverable atomic warheads by 2030, narrowing the gap with the US to within a few hundred. China has a space warfare plan, which includes using missiles and other weapons to disrupt or disable enemy satellites.

The sheer mass of China’s recent military growth is staggering, but another aspect of the China threat has caused enough alarm for government agencies to warn civilians. China has the proven ability to hack into and disrupt critical infrastructure, including the water supply, oil and gas pipeline disruption, transportation, and other areas vital to daily life. Several military experts say this is a likely scenario in a war with the West, Matthew 24:6.

What does China’s rise have to do with the end-times scenario? That remains to be seen, but China appears to be situated for its role on the final page of history.

Armageddon seems less like a faraway event and more like an event that could happen shortly. Any discerning Bible reader must see that events are falling into place increasingly. Timing is everything, and as we covered earlier, Israel is back in the land, and a coalition of Eastern nations will go into Israel for battle.

We are on the cusp of the birth pains and the beginning of sorrows Jesus warned about. Watching rapid major geopolitical shifts take shape in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and especially Israel, it is easy to see that China’s aggression won’t end in Taiwan, but it could realistically assemble with the rest of the world’s armies for the climax of human history, Daniel 11:44 and Revelation 16:12-16.

China is arming to the teeth, the Middle East is embroiled in conflict, and we’re witnessing our society descend into a free fall of immorality. This should be a call to all of humanity, especially Christians. We see signs pointing to the Lord’s soon return and must tell everyone we come into contact with to get ready. Those who long for His appearing know we have little time to warn others to repent because Jesus is coming back, Luke 14:23.

Keep your eyes on China, and remember to pray for persecuted Chinese Christians, as key players are moving into place for an appointment at Armageddon.

China Is Quietly Constructing Hundreds of Very Large Self-Sustaining “Special Economic Zones” All Over the Globe

The Chinese have made enormous mountains of money by exporting cheap goods to the rest of the world, and this has given them a tremendous amount of economic power. Now they are attempting to extend their economic domination by constructing hundreds of very large self-sustaining “special economic zones” in other countries. These “special economic zones” are established in key strategic locations, and they are often exempt from many of the laws and regulations of the host nation.

The most famous “special economic zone” in the world is the Chinese city of Shenzhen.

Back in the 1970s, Shenzhen was just a very small fishing village. Today, it is help up as a shining example of China’s economic miracle…

The most successful SEZ in China was Shenzhen, one of the original pilot zones created by Deng Xiaoping. Shenzhen went from a population of 314,000 to 12.5 million over the span of 40 years. By 1992, within 12 years of its designation as a SEZ, Shenzhen attracted $4.3 billion USD in FDI annually, or 14% of China’s total FDI. Now Shenzhen is known as the Silicon Valley of hardware, because it is home to the world’s largest electronics factories.

China is now home to more than 2,500 SEZs. They range from small business parks to full fledged cities with populations in the millions. The World Bank estimates that China’s SEZs contribute 22% GDP, 45% of its FDI, and 60% of its exports.

After having so much success with special economic zones domestically, the Chinese started implementing this concept elsewhere.

A little over a decade ago, China unveiled the global Belt and Road Initiative. The goal was to create a worldwide network of special economic zones that would be connected by “highways, fiber optic cables, railroads, oil pipelines, ports, and airports”…

In 2013, the Chinese government announced the creation of the global Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This plan would revive the silk road by financing the creation of connective infrastructure throughout Eurasia and Africa. The connective infrastructure to be built includes highways, fiber optic cables, railroads, oil pipelines, ports, and airports. This infrastructure would be connected by hubs made up of Chinese SEZs. The Chinese government expects to spend $2 trillion USD by 2030 developing the program.

Today, there are approximately 500 Chinese special economic zones outside of the nation of China, and some of them are the size of “full fledged new cities”…

There are now roughly 500 Chinese funded SEZs outside of China, mostly created as part of the BRI. As hubs of connective infrastructure, SEZs play a critical role in the success of the BRI.

BRI SEZs differ immensely from one another. Most are industrial parks, but some are full fledged new cities. Many are designed from the ground up by Chinese companies, while others are initiated by their home countries and later funded by Chinese interests. Some have budgets in the tens of millions, while others have budgets in the tens of billions.

CBS News recently visited one of these special economic zones in Cambodia.

When the CBS News team arrived, there was “no mistake about who’s in charge”…

A convoy of semi-trucks passed by as our CBS News team drove about two hours south of Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh. Moments later we were greeted by an enormous arch with signage in two languages — the local Khmer and, beneath it, Chinese.

There could be no mistake about who’s in charge of the “Special Economic Zone” rising from the dirt. We approached a furniture factory, where the Chinese manager invited us in to shoot some video.

Right now, a lot of Chinese companies are moving into that particular special economic zone in an attempt to avoid the tariffs that President Trump has imposed on China.

So the next time you go to Walmart or Target you may see that a lot more products now say that they are made in Cambodia.

Interestingly, CBS News is telling us that construction at that particular special economic zone “goes on for miles”…

We asked the manager about his neighbors in the economic zone and he said most of the companies moving in are Chinese. A driving incentive behind the relocation of those manufacturing operations is avoiding U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods, and there are a lot of companies choosing to make the investment.

The scale of the industrial park growing in the south of Cambodia is hard to fathom. Construction goes on for miles.

Pakistan is another nation that has really embraced Chinese special economic zones.

In fact, one that was recently announced is expected to create more than 100,000 jobs…

The provincial administration of Sindh on Saturday announced the establishment of a special economic zone after the signing of a memorandum of understanding supported by Chinese authorities, projecting the initiative to transform Pakistan’s economy by attracting $3 billion in investment and creating over 100,000 jobs.

The announcement is part of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which aims to enhance industrial development by setting up such economic zones. The first CPEC phase focused on infrastructure and energy projects, while the second phase emphasizes industrial collaboration between the two countries.

An even larger “special economic zone” is planned for Saudi Arabia.

It is being reported that it will be located “at the King Salman International Airport in Riyadh” and will be home to thousands of companies…

The KSA-Sino Logistics Zone will be located at the King Salman International Airport in Riyadh, which is expected to be one of the largest airports in the world when completed by 2030.

The project is expected to attract more than 3,000 wholesalers and retailers and about 200 light industrial manufacturers from China and Asia.

The new development aims to improve logistical connections between China and Saudi Arabia and help establish the kingdom as a base for air cargo movement in the region.

I was quite surprised to learn that the Chinese are moving so rapidly in the Middle East.

But they have been even more active in Africa.

There are 15 Chinese special economic zones in the nation of Kenya, and some of them are absolutely huge. Here is just one example…

The project will be undertaken in three phases and is expected to be one of Africa’s tech hub offering employment and propelling economic growth and development of Uasin Gishu County and the country at large.

In the first phase of AEZ Pearl River project, the Chinese firm will supervise the construction of an industrial park that will cover 700 acres.

It will consist of various industries in agro-processing, energy, machinery, engineering, construction, electronic, ICT, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

The second phase will consist of a science and technology hub on an 86-acre piece of land.

And a Chinese special economic zone in Ethiopia is being constructed right in the heart of Addis Ababa…

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Wednesday launched the construction of Chinese-contracted “Addis Tomorrow Special Economic Zone” at the heart of Addis Ababa, the country’s capital.

The launching ceremony came a year after the Addis Ababa City Administration and China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) inked a deal to build the economic zone, with a planned area of 35 hectares, at an estimated cost of 700 million U.S. dollars.

Speaking at the event, Abiy said the economic zone is part of the government’s commitment to transforming Addis Ababa into one of the most beautiful cities in the world by building smart communities with various facilities, including residential houses, shopping malls, hotels, and recreational centers.

Constructing a vast network of major trade hubs all over the globe could help China become the number one economic superpower in the years ahead.

But is there another motive for what they are doing?

These special economic zones are allowing the Chinese to have a presence in key strategic locations throughout the world.

And once they are there, it will be nearly impossible to remove them.

It appears that the Chinese have been playing chess while we have been playing checkers.

Hopefully we will wake up while we still can.

Reconnaissance in the Last Days

Soldier, consider this your official mission briefing. The spiritual battlefield is set, and the final engagements of the war between light and darkness are upon us. Every believer is called to a critical role in the fight against escalating spiritual warfare, as the enemy mobilizes on an unprecedented scale.

Your assignment: Reconnaissance. Specifically, Spiritual Reconnaissance. First, let’s define reconnaissance. Reconnaissance in the military is the process of obtaining information about enemy forces. This includes information about the number of forces, positions, movements, etc.

Spiritual reconnaissance is the practice of carefully examining Scripture and current events in tandem to “spy out” how the final days are unfolding. Think of the Bible as the ultimate intelligence dossier provided by God. Within its pages, the Lord has revealed the enemy’s strategies and the road map of the future. Just as military scouts scout the battlefield, spiritual reconnaissance means scanning the horizon of world events through the lens of Scripture. It’s reading the news with an open Bible in hand, discerning how today’s headlines may be fulfilling end-time prophecies. It’s the disciplined exploration of Scripture to gather wisdom and insight for the days ahead.

Your task is to identify the enemy’s tactics, expose his strategies, and prepare spiritually for the engagements ahead. Reconnaissance, in this spiritual war, involves carefully examining Scripture alongside current events to discern how the final days are unfolding. It is scanning the battlefield of our world, spotting threats, and reporting clearly so that the faithful will not be caught unaware.

The enemy’s forces are extensive, and their deception constantly evolves. This is not a time to chase after every individual threat or distraction. Our focus must be on the larger picture: the enemy’s playbook. His warfare strategy includes deception, corruption, and seduction, particularly targeting the Church to weaken its effectiveness. Satan aims to distort truth, create confusion, and prepare humanity for submission to the coming Antichrist Beast System.

The Church, which once stood as an uncompromising army for truth, is now frequently marked by confusion, compromise, and even betrayal from within. Yet, amidst this turmoil, God is calling forth Watchers and Warriors. Watchers are those spiritually alert believers, carefully interpreting the signs of the times and boldly sounding the alarm. Warriors are those actively confronting spiritual deception and resisting the tide of compromise. We are actually called to be both!

Seven critical "Prophetic Hot Zones" demand our focused attention:

Apostasy in the Church – The dilution and distortion of biblical truth within churches, leading believers astray.
Moral Decay – A dramatic rise in evil, where society increasingly calls good evil and evil good, reflecting Romans 1.
Global Disasters and Wars – Increasing global conflicts, pandemics, and natural/man-made catastrophes.
Persecution – A growing hostility toward Jews and Christians globally, fulfilling Christ's warning of persecution and martyrdom in the last days.
Global Control (Beast System Infrastructure) – Movement towards a centralized global system of governance, economy, surveillance, and even religion, paving the way for the Antichrist's rule.
Deception – A surge in “lying signs and wonders” such as occult practices, UFO/UAP smokescreen, false prophets, counterfeit miracles, and new-age spiritualities intended to deceive many.
Israel – Events surrounding Israel and its significance as God's prophetic clock, including alignment of nations against her. Israel is the hour hand, Jerusalem the minute hand, and the Temple Mount the second hand. The second hand is now ticking down.

These prophetic hot zones are not merely possibilities; they are active fronts requiring urgent attention. By engaging in spiritual reconnaissance, believers gain a clearer picture of the world's trajectory and the spiritual dangers ahead. It equips us not only to recognize prophetic fulfillment but to respond appropriately, standing firm in the armor of God, resistant to compromise.

Make no mistake. This is enemy territory. The insights gained from spiritual reconnaissance are challenging, compelling us to confront uncomfortable truths about our culture, the state of the Church, and the intensity of spiritual warfare. Yet, ignoring these truths leaves us vulnerable. The Lord calls us to vigilance and action. Jesus said clearly, “What I say to you, I say to everyone: Watch!” (Mark 13:37).

Spiritual reconnaissance isn’t passive observation; it is an active and urgent call to readiness. As Watchers and Warriors, our role is clear: observe carefully, discern wisely, stand firmly, and proclaim boldly. The final engagements of this spiritual war are HERE, and our orders are unmistakable: Stay Awake! Keep Watch! Join the Reconnaissance!

In 1985, I was invited to speak at an international trade conference at Georgetown University with then US Special Trade Representative Clayton Yeutter. At the time, the United States was experiencing trade deficits and President Reagan was working to level the playing field. An example was how American farmers were being squeezed by Japan’s unfair trade practices. Japan expected the US to import their cheaper automobiles at will, but they placed extreme duties (tariffs) on American agricultural products. This way they could manipulate the trade balance through their mega trading companies. China does much the same, only they have taken it to a new level by manipulating currency value at America’s expense.

Everything was going smooth with speakers talking about the importance of free trade—how it ensures peace and provides jobs. Then it was my turn. I said free trade was fine, but fair trade is what we should be talking about. I suggested a very novel, at the time, schedule of tariffs for countries that place tariffs on US products. There was a collective gasp, and much angry talk, especially from the Japanese delegation sitting right in front of me. I used almost the exact language Trump did in his recent address to congress. He said, “whatever they tariff us, other countries, we will tariff them. That’s reciprocal back and forth. Whatever they tax us, we will tax them.” The response to Trump from those countries, the Marxist media, and the Democratic left was also a collective alarmist gasp, claiming tariffs will increase inflation, cost jobs, etc., etc.

The Bureau of Economic Analysis reported in February that the US trade deficit was $98.4 billion in December, totaling $1.2 trillion in 2024. That is not fair trade. The biggest deficits are with are with China and Mexico. While Democrats and the Marxist media are screaming the sky is falling on Trump’s tariffs, a comprehensive tariff study by the Atlanta Federal Reserve concludes otherwise. The Atlanta Fed study found that while tariffs may not spur long lasting-lasting inflation, they may trigger a one-time increase in consumer prices of less than 1% on specific goods. The study suggests that the increase in costs may be so slight that companies may not pass them through to consumers in order to remain competitive.

Apart from the study, the effects of tariffs may be a short-term bump in prices, but over the long-term there is less dependence on imports, more domestic job creation, and price stability. That’s what Trump means when he says, farmers, for instance, need to bear with him for a while. Other countries’ tariffs are taking advantage of America to the tune of a trillion dollars a year. Allowing this to continue for fear of trade wars or inflation is unfair to America and American workers. Stopping it with tariffs also stops the gravy train certain people receive from the excess in funds from tariff rendering countries. Deuteronomy 25:13 says, “You shall not have two differing weights in your bag, one heavy and one light.” Tariffs even out the weights of trade. They are a good for accountability. Fearmongering on tariffs is, say it with me…Stupidocrisy.

God promised David that his kingdom would last forever. That was a reference to Jesus, who, centuries later, not only descended from David but also was closely identified with him. People called Him “Son of David.”

God also promised that He would bless David’s son, who would also succeed him as king. It would be that son who finally built the temple that David wanted to build. That son would continue the lineage of David that would eventually produce Jesus.

That son was Solomon, the second child born to David and Bathsheba. (Their first child died as a consequence of their adulterous affair.) God promised to bless Solomon and treat him as a son.

According to 1 Kings 3, when Solomon became king, God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you” (NIV). Solomon asked for wisdom so that he could be the ruler God wanted him to be. God was so pleased with Solomon’s request that He gave him wisdom—and then threw in wealth and honor. God equipped David’s son to carry on his father’s legacy and make a name for himself.

King Saul was dead. That meant David was the only living human who knew the challenges Solomon would face as king. And before he died, he offered Solomon some final words of advice. You don’t have to be next in line to the throne of Israel to benefit from David’s hard-earned wisdom. You can find his advice in 1 Chronicles 29 (and in the passage above).

Here are three starting points. One, develop an intimate relationship with God. Knowing about God from stories in the Bible or other people’s perspectives isn’t the same as knowing Him personally. You develop an intimate relationship with God by spending time in His presence, praying, and listening. And by meditating on His Word, asking Him to reveal Himself through His promises and commands. And by prioritizing His will. Isn’t that what the Christian life is all about: a deep friendship with God?

Two, serve God with a whole heart and a willing mind. The better you know God, the more you’ll want to serve Him. Serving God isn’t drudgery; it’s not a duty. It’s a delight and a privilege, no matter what form that service takes. Remember, God’s plan for you is better than your plan for yourself.

Three, put the Lord first in your life, and everything else will find its proper balance. That’s the key to effective prayer: aligning yourself with God’s will. Jesus said in John 15:7, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!” (NLT).

He also said, “You are my friends if you do what I command” (John 15:14 NLT). He didn’t say, “You are my friends if you do the things that you personally agree with.” God has told us in His Word how to live. It is not for us to pick and choose sections of the Bible we like and toss the rest aside.

If God tells you to do something, He says it for good reason, and you need to obey Him. If God says not to do something, He also says it for good reason. Even if you don’t understand it, obey Him.
