Day by day, Iran’s regime is being decimated. A collection of butchers, jihadists, and modern-day Nazis, who have spent 47 years murdering and maiming, are now facing judgment courtesy of the US and Israeli militaries.

The latest regime tyrant to fall is Iran’s now former intelligence Minister Esmaeil Khatib, one of the regime’s most important officials. He was killed on Wednesday in Tehran in an Israeli air strike. Khatib helped lead the regime’s brutal repression of the Iranian people, and had a major hand in the January slaughter of at least 32,000 Iranians. He was also an Islamic cleric who was close to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei—and, like Khamenei, he is now no more.

Russia And China Are More Involved in the War in Iran Than Most People Realize

It appears that Iran is quietly getting quite a bit of help from Russia and China. As you will see below, it is being alleged that China is mass producing drones for the Iranians, and one report is claiming that hundreds of Chinese military and technical personnel are “feared dead or slowly suffocating” because they were hiding in underground bunkers that have been destroyed by U.S. and Israeli airstrikes. Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal is claiming that Russia has been sharing technology with the Iranians and has been providing targeting information for their drone and missile strikes. It seems that Russia and China are more involved in the war in Iran than most people realize, and that should deeply alarm all of us.

It’s An Energy War Now! Oil And Gas Infrastructure All Over the Middle East Is Being Targeted and This Will Have Devastating Consequences

Prior to the war with Iran, the world had more than enough oil and gas, and as a result it was very inexpensive. Now we have transitioned into a time when that is no longer true at all. Both sides in this war are now specifically targeting oil and gas infrastructure, and that is going to have devastating consequences. Even if the war ended tomorrow and the Strait of Hormuz was immediately reopened, there is no way that conditions would return to how they were just before the war any time soon. Oil and gas facilities that have been damaged could take many months to repair. Oil and gas facilities that have been completely destroyed could take years to rebuild. What this means is that oil and gas prices are going to remain at elevated levels for an extended period of time, and that is really bad news because our entire way of life is based on cheap energy.

Across much of the modern church landscape, a curious silence has settled over the pulpit. It is not the silence of reverence or reflection, but the silence of avoidance. Entire portions of Scripture--especially those dealing with the future--are quietly bypassed, rarely explained, and almost never preached through in a systematic way. Topics such as the Rapture, the Tribulation, the Antichrist, the coming Kingdom, and the return of Christ have gradually disappeared from many Sunday morning sermons.

For generations of believers, this silence would have been almost unimaginable. Earlier pastors regularly preached through prophetic books such as Daniel, Ezekiel, Zechariah, and Revelation. Entire sermon series were devoted to the signs of the times and the promises of Christ’s return. The expectation of the Lord’s coming was not viewed as fringe theology--it was central to the Christian hope.

Imagine a world where all nations are at peace, and there is no war and no threat of deadly terrorism; all politicians and government officials are honest, trustworthy public servants with no personal agendas; and the poor and most vulnerable are gently cared for and helped.

Hard to imagine, isn’t it?

In 1971, John Lennon, the late composer and singer with the Beatles, released his famous song Imagine, which challenged listeners to picture such a world: no war, no killing, no corruption, no countries, and no greed—only peace, through the brotherhood of man.

However, Lennon’s idyllic world lacked one critical thing: God. Humanity cannot accomplish Utopia without Him.

Daily Jot: The Family Farm and the Future of America

The family farm has been one of the quiet pillars holding up the American republic. It is not merely a way to produce food, it is a way to sustain communities, preserve land, and pass down values from one generation to the next. The numbers tell the story clearly. According to the US Department of Agriculture, roughly 96 percent of all farms in the United States are family owned, and these farms produce about 83 percent of the nation’s agricultural output. In other words, when Americans sit down to eat, most of what is on the table came from land worked by families, not corporations. The family farm is not a relic of the past. It remains the backbone of America’s food system and rural economy, but there are grave threats.

Concerns are growing about pressures that could push family farms out of the marketplace. Investigations and industry reports have pointed to heavy consolidation in agricultural processing industries. One undercover report highlighted that four large beef packers, Tyson, JBS, Cargill, and National Beef, control roughly 80 percent of the US beef market, leaving ranchers with limited bargaining power and tighter margins. When markets concentrate in the hands of a few corporations, the people raising cattle or growing crops often receive a shrinking share of the value. Farmers already receive only a fraction of the retail price consumers pay for food, making it increasingly difficult for small operations to survive. If that trend continues, the American food supply could become more centralized, less resilient, and politically weaponized.

Family farms matter for more than economics. They anchor rural culture and national security. Across the country there are nearly 1.8 million family farms producing hundreds of billions of dollars in agricultural output every year, supporting local economies and sustaining rural towns. The loss of these farms would mean more than fewer farmers. It would mean fewer independent land stewards, fewer small communities, and greater dependence on large industrial systems that are vulnerable to disruption. History shows that a nation that cannot reliably feed itself becomes dependent on others. When food production shifts too far from the hands of independent producers, the balance of power moves with it.

The future of the country is therefore tied to the American family farm. Policies that protect fair markets, encourage new farmers, and preserve farmland will determine whether these farms continue for another century. Americans also play a role through the choices they make about food and agriculture. Supporting local producers, ranchers, and farmers strengthens the people who feed the nation. Scripture reminds us that stewardship of the land and provision of food are sacred responsibilities. As Proverbs 12:11 says, “He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread, but he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.” The family farm has long sustained this country and each of us can thank God and farmers for the food we eat. Preserving it may be one of the wisest investments the nation can make.

Daily Devotion: Growing a Choke-Proof Faith

I’ve always been amazed by weeds. You can take a little flower, plant it in the perfect location, water it, and make sure that there are no pests to threaten it. You can do everything possible for that flower, and it will slowly grow. But then, in the same amount of time, a weed can spring up and choke out the flower.

The weed doesn’t suddenly burst out of the ground, grab the flower, and start shaking it. The process is gradual. First, the weed appears in the vicinity of the flower. The next day, the weed grows a little closer. And on it goes until the weed starts to wrap itself around the flower and choke out its growth.

That is what Jesus was describing in the parable of the sower when He said, “The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity” (Luke 8:14 NLT). The “cares and riches and pleasures of this life” are the weeds that choke our spiritual growth. As with the weeds in nature, the process doesn’t happen overnight; it happens over time.

Also, as with weeds in nature, the “cares and riches and pleasures of life” aren’t always immediately identifiable as weeds. In fact, the things that prevent the seed of God’s Word from maturing and producing fruit in our lives aren’t necessarily bad things in and of themselves. Some are good things that become the most important things and choke out the spiritual things. They also create distance between us and God.

The picture that Jesus paints in His parable is not one of someone who says they don’t want to pray, read the Bible, or go to church. Rather, it’s someone who thinks those are good things to do. But over time, they start losing interest, and the things of this world become more important to them than the things of the next world. That’s what chokes them out spiritually and causes them to feel distant from God.

It’s essential, then, that we examine our priorities frequently. Not our idealized priorities, the things we say are important to us, but our actual priorities, the things that get the lion’s share of our time, energy, and interest.

Jesus said, “Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be” (Luke 12:34 NLT). God wants you to treasure the things that are truly important. The things that will last for eternity. The things that bring genuine joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment. God wants your heart. If you give Him that, He will give more than you can possibly imagine in return.
