Our King Is Coming: Examining Jesus’ Second Triumphal Entry
By Jonathan Brentner - https://harbingersdaily.com/our-king-is-coming-examining-the-second-triumphal-entry/
Jerusalem is abuzz with jubilant anticipation. As Jesus nears the city gate, multitudes loudly proclaim, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”
Yes, it’s Palm Sunday weekend, but the above scene awaits the future fulfillment of Jesus’ words in Matthew 23:37-39: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! See, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
The Lord’s prophetic words came after His triumphal entry in Jerusalem, as recorded in Matthew 21:1-11, and immediately followed His pronouncement of judgment on the Scribes and Pharisees, who typified Israel’s rejection of their Messiah (Matthew 23:1-36). His words, “your house is left to you desolate (Matthew 23:38),” signified the dismal future of the nation and the Land.
Desolation
With the clarity of hindsight, we understand that Jesus’ prophetic words of the desolation began after AD 70 and continued into the twentieth century. The word for “desolate” in the Greek depicts a desert wilderness, a land deprived of care.
In 1867, Mark Twain journeyed to Israel. His description of the Land at the time provides dramatic evidence of the fulfillment of Jesus’ words: “The further we went the hotter the sun got, and the more rocky and bare, repulsive and dreary the landscape became…. There was hardly a tree or a shrub any where. Even the olive and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country.”
Of course, much has changed since then. With Israel once again a nation, the once barren places in the Land now flourish with vibrant vegetation, as but a preview of what’s to come when Jesus revitalizes Israel’s land when He reigns over Israel and all the nations of the earth.
Jesus’ Return to Jerusalem
Reflecting back on what had happened a few days ago, Jesus looked forward to the time when a throng of worshippers in Jerusalem would again greet Him with words from Psalm 118:25-26, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” (see also Matthew 21:9). Though sorrowful for the future of Jerusalem and His people, He looked forward to the time when the cries of the people would not later change to chants of “Crucify him.”
Jesus will someday return to a truly repentant Israel, remorseful of their rejection of Him (see Zechariah 12:10-13:1). Their suffering during the latter years of the Tribulation period (Zechariah 13:8-9) will not only change the hearts of the Jewish people but also result in a gleeful welcoming of Christ into Jerusalem. The outcome on this future day will be far different than what happened after Jesus’ first triumphal ride into the city; it will lead to the restoration of a glorious kingdom for Israel.
King Over All the Earth
Aware of how His earlier ride into Jerusalem fulfilled the words of Zechariah 9:9, Jesus likely remembered the prophet’s words recounting the time when He would reign as King “over all the earth” (14:9; 16-21) after His future triumphal entry into the city. Of particular interest in this text is the resumption of the yearly celebration of the Feast of Booths, or Tabernacles, during this time (Zechariah 14:16-19).
In the Old Testament, this feast was a time of thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest as well as a reminder of when their ancestors wandered for forty years in the wilderness.
Could there be a connection between the Millennial celebration of this feast and the words that will greet the Lord when He enters Jerusalem to take His place on the throne of David? I believe there is.
In his commentary on Matthew, Irish writer and biblical scholar Adam Clarke (1762 – 26 August 1832) makes this connection when writing about the words that greeted Jesus on the first Palm Sunday:
Probably there is an allusion here to the custom of the Jews in the feast of tabernacles. During the first seven days of that feast, they went once round the altar each day with palm and other branches in their hands, singing HOSANNA: but on the eighth day of that feast, they walked seven times round the altar, singing the hosanna, and this was termed the hosanna rabba, the GREAT hosanna.
The link between the first century AD Feast of Tabernacles and Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem is that of the words of Psalm 118:25-26, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” (Matthew 21:9).
Jumping to the future, is it possible that the ongoing celebration of this feast during Jesus’ millennial reign will not only be a time of thanksgiving and worship of the One who resides, or tabernacles, with His people in Zion, but also serve as a reminder of Jesus’ second triumphal entry into the city? If so, the words of Psalm 118:25-26 would continually remind the people Israel of the day their messianic hopes became a reality.
Jesus’ words in Matthew 23:37-39 add prophetic significance to the first Palm Sunday because they tell us that He will again ride into Jerusalem amid shouts of “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” The result, however, will be far different, as it will mark the beginning of a gloriously restored kingdom for Israel.
For us as New Testament saints, we know that our King will surely come for us just as He promised in John 14:2-3 and throughout the New Testament. After the Tribulation, we will return to the earth with our Savior and witness the jubilant scene on the streets of Jerusalem.
Prophecy Update: God Told the World
By Daymond Duck - https://www.raptureready.com/2025/04/12/god-told-the-world-by-daymond-duck/
I ask you to forgive me if this introduction is a repeat, but God has blessed me with a long life and allowed me to write so many articles, speak in so many different states and so many different denominations, that it has become difficult for me to remember what I have written or said when or where.
I don’t want to bore you with a repeat, but God allowed me to prepare the following list several years ago, and I want to be sure I passed it on.
The Bible reveals:
One nation that will come back into being in one day: Israel (May 14, 1948).
One nation that will be divided: Israel (and the two-state solution will divide Israel).
One nation that cannot be defeated: Israel (several nations have tried and failed).
One nation that will be hated by all nations: Israel (and there have been more UN resolutions against Israel than any other nation on earth).
One nation that will have trees again: Israel (and it has).
One nation that vultures will return to: Israel (and they have).
One nation that the animals will return to: Israel (and they have).
One nation that will have an increase in rain: Israel (and it has).
One nation that will abide many days without a king and a sacrifice: Israel (and it has).
One nation that will return in unbelief: Israel (and the Jews have been blinded).
One nation that will have a pure language: Israel (and all citizens are required to learn Hebrew).
One nation where the plowman will overtake the reaper: Israel (and the farmers are double cropping).
One nation that will dominate the descendants of Esau: Israel (and the Arabs have not been able to bring Israel down.).
One thing that the Gates of Hell will not prevail against: The Church (and true believers still exist).
One city that will be rebuilt: Babylon (and there has been some, but not much construction at ancient Babylon).
One city that will be a cup of trembling and a burdensome stone for the whole world: Jerusalem (and it is).
One gate that won’t be opened until Jesus returns: The Eastern Gate (and it is closed).
One river that will dry up: The Euphrates (and seven dams have been built on it).
One thing that will go all over the world: the gospel (and it is, but there is more to come with the Two Witnesses, the 144,000, and an angel).
One building that will be rebuilt: The Temple (and the architectural plans, materials list, clothing, musical instruments, etc. are complete).
One group of nations that will come back into being: The old Roman Empire (and that’s the EU).
One covenant that will be confirmed (strengthened by the Antichrist): a peace treaty (and world leaders are working on one).
One person that cannot be revealed while the church is here: The Antichrist (and he hasn’t been revealed).
One thing that will increase at the end of the age: iniquity (and immorality is exploding).
One thing that will decrease at the end of the age: the love of many (and many have stopped attending worship services).
One book that will be sealed up until the time of the end: The Book of Daniel (it is a little fuzzy, but current events are making it easier to understand).
One non-human thing that will speak: a statue of the Antichrist (Scientists are making robots that speak).
One religious practice that will resume at the end of the age: animal sacrifices (Priests have been trained to do this).
One thing that the wicked won’t understand at the end of the age: current events (because they reject what the Bible says: Dan. 12:10).
One thing that will be speeded up at the end of the age: travel (we now have planes and vehicles).
One thing that the world cannot have until Jesus returns: peace (wars and rumors of wars are a constant problem).
One thing that the world cannot understand: the things of God (because they are spiritually discerned; I Cor. 2:14).
One being that won’t be bound until the Second Coming of Jesus: Satan (he is alive and well on planet Earth today).
Only God could know that all these specific signs would happen at the end of the age.
He told the world in the Bible that they would happen.
He told His people to watch for them and we could know when the day of His return is near.
God has spoken, and many know it.
Here are recent current events that seem to indicate that the end of the age is close:
One, last week, I reported that:
On Mar. 30, 2025, Turkey’s Pres. Erdogan called for the destruction of Israel.
On Apr. 1, 2025, Turkey and Syria signed an agreement for Turkey to take over an airbase in Syria and provide air cover and military protection for Syria’s new government.
On Apr. 2, 2025, Israel launched massive airstrikes on several Syrian military airports and bases.
I24 News said, “The Israeli strikes in Syria, both acknowledged and unacknowledged, are intended to convey a message to Turkey: Do not establish a military base in the country and do not interfere with Israeli activity in the country’s skies.”
On Apr. 3, 2025, Israel’s Defense Min. warned Syria’s President Ahmad al-Sharaa in a statement: “If you allow forces hostile to Israel to enter Syria and endanger Israeli security interests – you will pay a very heavy price. The Air Force’s activity is a warning to the future – we will not allow the security of the State of Israel to be harmed.”
(My comment: The Bible tells us that Turkish forces will enter Syria with forces from Russia, Iran, and others in the latter years and latter days.).
Two, concerning Israel being surrounded by enemies at the end of the age (and perhaps a Psa. 83 war): on Apr. 2, 2025, the All Israel News staff reported that an Israeli official said:
Egypt has deployed forces beyond the permitted quota, expanded port facilities, and extended runways at airports.
Israel will not accept the situation and will not tolerate violations (of its 1979 peace treaty with Egypt) from Cairo.
(My comment: God promised that Israel cannot be destroyed. Many Christians all over the world are praying for Israel. Egypt’s powerful military may not last much longer.)
Three, concerning an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters at the end of the age:
On Apr. 2, 2025, AccuWeather’s chief meteorologist said up to four months’ worth of rain will fall in five days along portions of a 1,000-mile-long swath from Texas to Ohio. People who have lived in a community their entire lives may see water rapidly rising and flooding areas they have never seen flood before. Do not assume that if you have not seen flooding in an area before, it will not occur this time.
On Apr. 2, 2025, it was reported that unheard-of 18-ft waves crashed into beaches in Sydney, Australia.
(Update: On Apr. 4, 2025, it was reported that at least 16 people have been killed by the storms, flooding, and tornadoes from Texas to Ohio. On Apr. 6, 2025, it was reported that most areas have received 8-16 inches of rain, but some areas have received up to 21 inches of rain, and wind gusts of 65-75 mph.)
(Update: On Apr. 8, 2025, it was reported that the death toll has reached 23.)
Four, concerning wars and rumors of wars at the end of the age: on Apr. 2, 2025, the Foreign Min. of France said war with Iran is almost inevitable if Iran fails to restart nuclear talks.
(More: On Apr. 4, 2025, it was reported that former Vice-Pres. Mike Pence said Trump is ready to attack Iran if necessary.)
(My opinion: The U.S. has already deployed forces to the Middle East. Iran said it will retaliate if the U.S. and/or Israel attacks their nation. Iran’s retaliation could lead to the long-expected Battle of Gog and Magog in the latter years and latter days. Time will tell.)
(More: On Apr. 6, 2025, it was reported that the U.S. recently deployed more anti-missile systems to Israel (a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery and two Patriot batteries.)
(More: On Apr. 6, 2025, it was reported that Iran has put its military on full alert.)
(More: On Apr. 6, 2025, Israel released recently captured solid evidence – transcripts and intercepted documents found in tunnels – that Iran was giving millions of dollars to Hamas to destroy Israel. Iran and her corrupt allies in the UN can no longer legitimately claim that Iran was not involved in this war.)
(More: On Apr. 7, 2025, following a meeting with Israeli Prime Min. Netanyahu, Pres. Trump said direct talks with Iran have started. We will have a top-level major meeting on Apr. 12, 2025. Hopefully, those talks will be successful, and I think it would be in Iran’s best interest if they are successful.)
Five, concerning wars and rumors of wars at the end of the age: Pres. Trump has been attacking the Houthis in Yemen.
He said he will continue to do it as long as they attack ships in international waters.
He also said if they continue to receive backing from Iran, he would treat their attacks as attacks by Iran itself.
On Apr. 3, 2025, Iran announced that it is withdrawing its advisors from Yemen because Iran wants to avoid a direct conflict with the U.S.
Six, concerning world government: on Apr. 6, 2025, it was reported that British Prime Min. Kier Starmer said the world has changed (since Trump announced Tariffs on several nations), globalization is over, and we are now in a new era.
(My opinion: Wrong! The globalists, Democrats, and others are doing everything they can to stop Trump, and the Bible clearly teaches that there will be a world government after the Rapture of the Church.)
Seven, concerning open borders (a borderless world; world government) and the deportation of illegal aliens: on Apr. 7, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Pres. Trump had the authority over the illegal alien gang members from Venezuela.
Eight, concerning persecution of believers at the end of the age: on Apr. 7, 2025, it was reported that China has released new regulations that prohibit foreigners from preaching, sharing their faith, or forming religious organizations in China (effective May 1, 2025).
China mandates that all Christian activities must be confined to churches officially sanctioned and closely monitored by the state, thereby controlling the religious landscape.
(My opinion: The Church may start thriving in China as a result of these new regulations. It has thrived under persecution in the past.)
Nine, concerning the Days of Noah (great wickedness) at the end of the age: on Apr. 9, 2025, it was reported that a poll by the Network Contagion Research Institute at Rutgers University found that almost 60% of leftists polled have no problem with someone assassinating Pres. Trump, and almost 50% have no problem with someone assassinating Elon Musk.
FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and He is the only way to get there; John 14:6).
Finally, are you Rapture Ready?
If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

God’s Staying Hand
Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2025/04/13/gods-staying-hand-3/
While I think on and write this commentary for posting April 14, there are powerful storms brewing to the west in Oklahoma. This time of year always brings angst about the tornadic thunderstorms that threaten during the springtime in the mid-South. This one is particularly threatening, the weather gurus are saying. Long-track tornadoes are possible, even likely, and the rain, they say, could be the likes of which we haven’t experienced in…maybe…fifty years or so.
By now, at the time you read this, of course, that threat is long gone, and we have likely faced similar weather fronts since.
Always, while the storms are forming and approaching, we pray for God’s protection—that His hand govern so people aren’t harmed.
There is building at this moment in our world a storm potentially far worse than a long-track tornado that destroys only what’s in a relatively narrow path. World War III is looming across the horizon, and it is from the east, rather than from the west, from whence the tornadic thunderstorms come.
The threats have been building and ongoing for months, and have come more intensely into focus within recent weeks and days.
The latest indication of the building storm of potential world war came directly from the nation-state possessing reportedly the largest stockpile of nuclear weaponry. The warning implicit within the threat again brings back thoughts of the same nation-state and its part in bringing the world to the brink of nuclear holocaust.
I’m talking about, of course, the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, when Soviet Premiere Nikita Khrushchev threatened all-out war while America’s President John F. Kennedy opposed Khrushchev’s movement of nuclear weapons onto the island of Cuba ninety miles to our south.
As a twenty-year-old college student, I was quite worried as that geopolitical storm developed and grew to the point that it looked like the nukes would be unleashed at any moment.
There is a report I’ve read of a Soviet submarine at that crucial moment carrying atomic weapons whose commander came within a hair’s breadth of pushing the nuclear button. Three of the sub’s officers had to make the decision to launch, and one of the three didn’t believe there had been the hostile action reported against the Russian navy that warranted retaliation. He refused to agree to the launch, and World War III was avoided.
Although the world of military history doesn’t acknowledge the truth, it was, to us who were Christians and went through that time, God’s staying hand that controlled the decision of those submarines in that fateful instant. It continues to be our God’s omnipresence, omnipotence, and omniscience that, as Kennedy said in his inaugural address: “stays the hand of man’s final war.”
The following demonstrates that man continues down that deadly pathway toward the great Tribulation storm leading to World War III and devastation even worse than nuclear weapons can produce. Ironically, again the threat comes from within a Russian nuclear weapons-laden submarine.
On the cold steel of the Arkhangelsk, a nuclear submarine anchored in the machinery of modern warfare, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a message that bypassed diplomatic filters and landed directly on the fault lines of international tension. He spoke not with rhetoric, but with a calculated, measured threat—the kind that doesn’t need to shout to be heard.
“He forgot, it seems, that Russia has crews like yours and submarines like yours,” he said, staring out across a sea of uniformed sailors and flashing cameras. His words, directed at former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, were neither casual nor symbolic. They were a deliberate invocation of power, a reminder carved into steel and uranium that history has not been forgotten—and will not be forgiven.
This wasn’t a nostalgic reference to past conflicts. It was a direct line drawn in real time between an aborted peace agreement in 2022 and the quiet hum of nuclear submarines now fully armed and ready beneath the waves. The implications are staggering, and the silence in London should no longer be interpreted as strength, but as ignorance—or worse, as denial. (“BREAKING: Putin Sends Nuclear Warning from Submarine Deck—‘You Forgot about Our Submarines,’ He Tells Britain as Poseidon Looms off the Coast,” amg-news.com, American Media Group, Telegram, by Medeea Greere)
It is not just the Russian dictator who’s threatening to initiate World War III, but other building situations to our east. Here are a few examples taken from Raptureready.com News.
The Iranians Load Missiles “Onto Launchers in All Underground Missile Cities” after Trump Threatens Them with “Bombing the Likes of Which They Have Never Seen Before.” Iran threatens to target US-British joint base in Indian Ocean. Trump warned that any future attacks from the Houthis, who have targeted US Naval vessels hundreds of times and wreaked havoc with global shipping channels, would be treated as a direct aggression from Iran itself. Iran has threatened to retaliate against the joint U.S.-U.K. naval base on Diego Garcia in the Chagos Archipelago if the United States attacks the Islamic Republic,
Kim Jong Un Unveils Large AI-Equipped Combat Drones. North Korea has unveiled a new batch of new AI-equipped suicide and reconnaissance drones which the country is showcasing as part of military modernization plans. State-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Thursday that leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the testing of “various kinds of reconnaissance and suicide drones.”
China is practicing “dogfighting” in space, Space Force says. Chinese satellites have conducted coordinated maneuvers with “synchrony” and “control,” a top Space Force official revealed Tuesday, dubbing the moves “dogfighting in space.” The service is “starting to see our near-peers focusing on practicing dogfighting in space with satellite-on-satellite” operations, Vice Chief of Space Operations Gen. Michael Guetlein said during the annual McAleese defense programs conference.
The Tribulation storm, outlined in the book of Revelation, is building. Our new book, Tracking Toward Tribulation: And the Any-Moment Intervention of Jesus Christ, is a volume I hope you will read. The subtitle tells the great truth within these times that threatens ominously at this moment. Jesus is about to intervene. God’s staying hand until that stunning moment of the Rapture is easily discernable to the believer who knows it is God’s merciful, staying hand that keeps us from that terrible hour of His wrath and judgment.
If you haven’t yet accepted God’s grace gift offer of salvation through belief in Jesus Christ to forgive and cleanse you of all sin, here is the message whose divine Instruction I prayerfully hope you will follow:
That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10)
Passover: Jesus Is the Substance Behind Every Prophetic Shadow
By Amir Tsarfati - https://harbingersdaily.com/passover-jesus-is-the-substance-behind-every-prophetic-shadow/
Did you know that God’s calendar actually begins with Passover? In Exodus 12:2, God tells Moses, “This month shall be your beginning of months.” God’s calendar could have started with the creation, the flood, Adam, or Abraham, but instead, He chose to start it with the Exodus from Egypt.
So much of Passover points to Yeshua—the lamb, the blood, the unleavened bread—it would be simpler to tell you what doesn’t point to Him! Today, I want to show you how these ancient symbols reveal our Messiah.
First, let me explain what the Passover Seder is. The word “Seder” in Hebrew means “order.” It’s the traditional meal and ceremony that Jewish families have observed for thousands of years to commemorate our deliverance from Egypt. While the Passover itself is commanded in scripture, the specific seder rituals and traditions developed over time in Jewish practice. During this special evening, we eat specific symbolic foods, drink four cups of wine, and tell the story of the Exodus to our children.
Did Jesus celebrate the Passover Seder? Absolutely! In Luke 22:15, Jesus says to His disciples, “With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer…” Jesus not only celebrated it, He was eager to do so because He knew this ancient celebration was always about Him. This wasn’t just another religious ritual for Jesus; it was the moment He would reveal Himself as the fulfillment of everything the Passover represented.
Colossians 2:16-17 tells us that the festivals, new moons, and Sabbaths are “a shadow of things to come, but the substance is Christ.”
I want to show you how the Messiah is revealed in every symbol on the Passover plate and why this feast perfectly covers the timing of His death and resurrection—distinguishing him from any false prophet, false teacher, or false messiah.
Let’s go over the traditional seder plate the Jews have on their tables to this day. I promise you you won’t be left spiritually hungry today! Each element has incredible significance that points directly to our Messiah, Yeshua.
Blood Of The Passover Lamb
Let’s start with something fascinating about the Passover lamb and the blood that caused God’s judgment to pass over.
When God instituted Passover, He didn’t say, “The angel will pass over the houses of the Jews.” No, the instruction in Exodus 12:23 was clear: “And when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.” It wasn’t about ethnic identity; it was about the blood.
What if an Egyptian family had overheard Moses’s instructions and put lamb’s blood on their doorposts? I have news for you: their firstborn would have been spared! We are not saved by our ancestry or ethnicity. It’s not about the blood that runs within your veins; it’s about the blood you sprinkle on the doorpost of your heart.
Bones Of The Passover Lamb
The shankbone is a symbol of the Passover lamb. For generations, Jewish families sacrificed an innocent, unblemished male lamb. Paul, once a persecutor of the church, wrote in 1 Corinthians 5:7, “For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.” When the scales fell from his eyes, he could see who the true Passover was.
According to Exodus 12:46, not one bone of the Passover lamb was to be broken, and when they came to Jesus on the cross, John 19:33 tells us, “But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break His legs.” He fulfilled the requirements perfectly.
Matzah Bread
On matzah bread, you notice stripes and piercings marked into it. Isaiah 53:5 says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed.” Zechariah 12:10 speaks of the One whom they pierced. This unleavened bread symbolizes the sinless life of Jesus.
Pay close attention to this: in every Passover seder, we have three matzahas placed together. The Jewish rabbis say they represent the priests, Levites, and the people (the Israelites), but why then do we take the middle one, break it, and hide half of it, this hidden piece we call the “Afikoman,” and later redeem it for a reward? If this isn’t about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—with the Son being broken for us and hidden for a time—what is it?
The word “Afikoman” actually comes from Greek; it means “what comes after” or “that which comes later.” Jesus is still hidden from His own people, but the day will come when all Israel will recognize Him and be saved.
When rabbis are asked why they break the middle matzah, they simply say, “That’s our tradition!” But traditions always have origins and meanings. This tradition perfectly pictures our Messiah who was broken for us, hidden, buried, and then returned resurrected.
Bitter Herbs
The bitter herbs remind us of the suffering of our ancestors in Egypt, but they also remind us of the bitter cup Jesus drank in Gethsemane when He said, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death” (Matthew 26:38). Be willingly took that bitter cup for us.
Four Cups Of Wine
The four cups of wine each represent a promise from Exodus 6:6-7. God would bring Israel out, rescue them, redeem them, and take them as His people. The cups represent sanctification, judgment, redemption, and praise.
During the last supper, something incredible happened. Jesus took the first cup as normal, but then he did something unexpected. He skipped the second cup—the cup of judgment. Why? Because He was about to go to Gethsemane to drink that cup alone for us. Instead, after supper, He took the third cup—the cup of redemption—saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you” (Luke 22:20). What grace! He took the judgment so we could have redemption.
When you take communion, you’re not participating in some man-made ritual; you’re connecting to this ancient celebration of God’s redemptive plan. The cup and bread that Jesus used to institute communion were part of this Passover meal.
Here’s a thought that will blow your mind: when Jesus shed blood for the first time, it wasn’t on the cross; it was in the garden of Gethsemane, where Luke 22:44 tells us, “His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” The first Adam sinned in a garden, bringing death. The last Adam suffered in a garden, bringing life!
An Empty Seat For Elijah
Jewish people set an empty seat for Elijah, waiting for him to announce the Messiah. But Jesus tells us in Matthew 17 that Elijah already came through John the Baptist. The messenger has come, and so has the Messiah.
He fulfilled his role as suffering servant and will return as conquering King.

During the seder, we sing Dayenu, meaning “It Would Have Been Enough.” Each line of the song declares, “It would have been enough,” but God gave more! As believers, we can say, “If you had only forgiven our sins, Dayenu, but He also made us children of God and co-airs with Christ.”
Even facing crucifixion, Jesus still sang the Passover hymns in His darkest hour. Our Messiah praised God. Psalm 116:13 says, “I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.” This is what Jesus did for you and me. He took that cup of salvation, drank the cup of judgment, and now offers us eternal life.
The Substance Behind Every Prophetic Shadow
What makes Jesus fundamentally different from any false messiah? He died as our Passover lamb, precisely on Passover day, at the exact time the temple lambs were being slaughtered. He was buried during the feast of unleavened bread, symbolizing his sinless body. He rose on the feast of first fruits. No human could orchestrate this divine timing. Only the true Messiah, who established these feasts with Moses 1,500 years earlier, could fulfill them with such precision.
Friends, the mystery of the Messiah, hidden for ages, is now revealed. He is the substance behind every prophetic shadow. These feasts were prophecies in action that only the true Messiah could fulfill to the letter.
God is not after the rituals, He wants hearts that recognize His Son. I pray that you will see through the beauty of Passover how God planned your salvation from the very beginning and how only through Him can we “Passover” from death to life.
Daily Jot: Transforming from corruptible to incorruptible
Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com
The Apostle John tells us “And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours’ only, but also for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:1-2).” This wonderful mystery of God provides a path to eternal life free of condemnation for whosoever believes in Christ (John 3). This is an incorruptible inheritance obtained through the resurrection of Christ (1 Peter 1:3-4). This gift of salvation has its roots in the sacrificial system established by God soon after the Israelites were led out of Egyptian slavery. The sacrifice of Christ, culminating with His resurrection, not only fulfilled the law and prophets, but also gave eternal life for those who believe.
Leviticus 6:1(8)-8:36 lays out the rules for the five types of sacrifices required by God. The Olah, “ascending offering,” was a freewill sacrifice consumed on the altar keeping the altar fire ever burning. The Minchah, “meal offering,” a freewill sacrifice of fine flour prepared with olive oil and frankincense. The meal offerings were expressions of humility before God, often being the only offering the poor could afford. The Shelamim, “peace offering,” a freewill offering given to express thankfulness for a happy event, represented relationship, fellowship and peace between God and man. The Shalmei Todah, “thank offering,” thanked the LORD for deliverance from some kind of danger. Chatat, “sin offering,” atoned for unintentional sins. There is no sacrifice for intentional sin. Asham, “guilt offering,” is required for certain sin, such as theft or false witness.
The sacrifices were a way of drawing near to God through repentance–A turning away from sinful actions and replacing them with obedience to God’s will, thus repairing the distance and restoring the relationship. The sacrifices were not about death, but are about life. We understand that the sacrificial system is a foreshadow of the Messiah Jesus’ atoning sacrifice as the Lamb of God. Jesus fulfilled all of the sacrifices which ultimately give us eternal life. The apostle Paul speaks about the resurrection life in 1 Corinthians 15:53, “For this material which can decay must be clothed with imperishability, this which is mortal must be clothed with immortality.” Being a Pharisee, Paul understood about the physical resurrection of the dead, and looked forward to the day when our mortal flesh would be transformed into immortality.
The sacrificial laws are all about transformation from mortality to immortality, from corruption to incorruptibility. The LORD commands in Leviticus 7:16-18, that the meat of the sacrifice must not be eaten past the second day. This alludes to the Messiah’s resurrection on the third day. Psalm 16:10 says, speaking of Him, “You will not abandon my soul to Hades, nor allow your Holy One to undergo decay.” Jesus’ mortal body did not undergo decay, He arose on the third day. Hosea 6:2 says, “After two days, he will revive us; on the third day, he will raise us up; and we will live in his presence.” In this way, the sacrificial system exemplified and foreshadowed the resurrection of Messiah. Through Christ, we will be transformed from corruptible to incorruptible.
Daily Devotion: Rejected

‘Away with him,’ they yelled. ‘Away with him! Crucify him!’ ‘What? Crucify your king?’ Pilate asked. ‘We have no king but Caesar,’ the leading priests shouted back.

In the hours after His arrest, Jesus faced several different trials before Jewish and Roman leaders. His accusers made false allegations against Him and twisted His words to make their accusations seem legitimate.
And through it all, Jesus remained silent. He refused to counter their claims or defend Himself against their lies. His silence was probably a welcome surprise to the people who had plotted against Him. Jesus had verbally sparred with the Jewish authorities several times during His ministry, and each time He exposed their hypocrisy and misunderstanding of God and His Word.
In fact, according to Matthew 22, a few days before Jesus was arrested, a group of Pharisees and a group of Sadducees tried to trap Jesus by asking Him some tricky theological questions. It didn’t go well for them. Jesus turned the tables and put them on the spot with questions of His own. The people who witnessed these encounters had one reaction. Verse 33 says, “When the crowds heard him, they were astounded at his teaching” (NLT).
The Pharisees and Sadducees who instigated the encounters had a different reaction. Verse 46 says, “No one could answer him. And after that, no one dared to ask him any more questions” (NLT).
Jesus’ silence during His trials was a strategic choice on His part. It worked to His enemies’ advantage, as He knew it would.
Remember, the crowds were on Jesus’ side at this point. He was still popular after His triumphant arrival on Palm Sunday. But with no pushback from Jesus’ side, His enemies were able to sway public opinion. They worked the crowds, spreading their lies and false accusations. They could point to Jesus and say, “He’s not even trying to deny the charges!”
Their efforts were successful. When the Roman governor Pilate presented Jesus to the crowd, the people shouted for His execution. It didn’t matter that neither the Jewish nor the Roman authorities had found any legitimate reason to execute Him. They were okay with Jesus’ blood being on their hands.
For Jesus, this was just another in a long line of rejections. He was rejected by His hometown of Nazareth (see Mark 6:1–6). He was rejected by a Samaritan village (see Luke 9:51–56). He was even rejected by His disciples (see John 6:60–66).
In being rejected, Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah 53:3: “He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care” (NLT).
We could marvel at the short-sightedness and hard-heartedness that caused the people outside Pilate’s residence to reject Jesus so cruelly. But let’s marvel instead at the amazing love that caused Jesus to give His life for those who were calling for His death so that they might live forever. And let’s remind ourselves that there are people who reject Him today who need to hear about His amazing love.

"Folks, it's all beginning to unravel. America is in more danger of falling than at any time in its history. But I believe Bible prophecy predicts this very decline. From this point on, we believers have to get serious. We are going to face discouragement, disillusionment and, most certainly, persecution in the time between now and the Rapture. But don't be discouraged or disillusioned. The coming turmoil will provide us unrivaled opportunities to share the good news of the Gospel. So be ready to share your faith and your hope with those who need Christ. We still have time to reap a great harvest of souls for God's kingdom!" - Hal Lindsey
