God’s Sovereign Hand in History and the Future Defeat of Iran in Bible Prophecy
By David Bowen - https://harbingersdaily.com/the-biblical-history-and-prophetic-defeat-of-iran/
With attacks on Iran from Israel and the United States, I have been asked multiple times, What does this mean prophetically? Is this the start of the Gog and Magog War? Does Iran have to be defeated for Israel to prosper and to live in a place of peace and security? How does all this tie into Scripture? These are all questions I understand people have.
No, the attacks on Iran do not begin the Gog and Magog War. We’re not there yet.
However, we do know that Iran (Persia) as a nation will survive because they are listed by name as an active participant in the Ezekiel war. To help explain some of the biblical history between these two nations, I’ve come up with the following backdrop.
From Restoration to Revelation: Persia’s Prophetic Journey in the Bible
When we think of modern Iran, which until 1932 was called Persia, it’s often in the context of geopolitical tension, especially with the state of Israel. But Persia’s role in biblical history tells a deeper, more complex story—one that stretches from Israel’s return from exile to the end-times battles of biblical prophecy.
Persia: An Unlikely Ally in Israel’s Restoration
In the sixth century B.C., the Jewish people were captives in Babylon. They were being disciplined by God. He sent them into a foreign land—Babylon—for seventy years. Yet, in a surprising turn of events, the new world power—Persia—became a vehicle of God’s mercy.
2 Chronicles 36:22–23 and Ezra 1:1–4 recount how King Cyrus of Persia issued a decree allowing the Jews to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple. He didn’t just tolerate their faith as other world powers did; he actively facilitated their return to their spiritual homeland.
The prophet Isaiah, more than a century earlier, in Isaiah 44:28 and 45:1, had named Cyrus directly, calling him God’s “anointed.” Up until then, that was a title normally reserved for Israel’s kings.
Later, Nehemiah found favor under the Persian King Artaxerxes I, who permitted him to rebuild Jerusalem’s broken walls (Nehemiah 2).
In Israel’s ancient days, Persia was far from being an enemy. Persia was a divinely appointed agent of Israel’s national and spiritual restoration.
Persia in the Prophetic Future
The Bible isn’t just history; it also looks ahead. Once again, Persia emerges in key prophetic texts, this time as part of a climactic, end-times scenario.
In Daniel 10:13, 20, Persia is tied to spiritual warfare, with angelic forces battling against the nation of Israel.
Daniel 8:20-21 explicitly identifies Persia (along with Media) as a great ram, later overcome by the goat of Greece—symbolizing the historical rise and fall of empires.
In Ezekiel 38–39, Persia appears as one of the nations in the Gog and Magog coalition—an alliance of nations set to come against Israel in the last days: “Persia, Cush and Put will be with them…” (Ezekiel 38:5)
While in history, Persia helped rebuild Israel, prophecy shows it as part of a future coalition of opposition, only to be defeated by God Himself.
Theological Reflections: God’s Sovereignty Over Nations
The story of Persia in the Bible isn’t just about ancient politics—it’s a window into God’s sovereign hand in history.
Cyrus’s rise wasn’t random. In Jeremiah 29:10, God promised a return after seventy years of exile. Persia fulfilled that promise.
God calls Cyrus “My shepherd” and “My anointed” (Isaiah 44:28; 45:1) as he did with Nebuchadnezzar. This shows God can use anyone, even a foreign king, to fulfill His purposes.
Daniel’s visions (Daniel 2, 7, 8) show that empires rise and fall, but all under God’s direction.
Even Persia’s eventual participation in end-times rebellion will ultimately serve God’s redemptive purposes. From restoration to judgment, God uses nations to shape His story.
Archaeology and History Confirm the Biblical Record
The biblical accounts of Persia’s role aren’t just theological—they’re historically grounded.
The Persian Empire (539–331 BC) conquered Babylon and allowed displaced peoples, including Jews, to return home. The Cyrus Cylinder, an archaeological artifact, confirms Cyrus’s policies of religious tolerance.
Second Temple Judaism—the temple of Jesus’ day—was shaped by this period of Persian support.
Under Persian rule, Jews experienced relative peace and religious freedom—a stark contrast to later empires like Greece or Rome.
Historically, Persia was not an oppressor, but a patron of Israel’s restoration.
Iran and Israel Today: A Modern Echo of Ancient Tensions
Fast-forward to the present, and Persia—now modern Iran—stands in stark contrast to its biblical role.
Iran’s current regime is openly hostile to Israel, supporting terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, and pursuing nuclear capabilities, which have led to Israeli leaders and the United States attacking Iran.
Israel sees Iran as its primary existential threat, a far cry from the days of Cyrus and Artaxerxes.
Students of Bible prophecy wait for the day of Ezekiel 38–39. That prophecy lists Persia (Iran) as one of the nations aligned against Israel in a future war involving a coalition that includes Russia and Turkey. We are not there yet, but the dominoes are lining up.
Final Thoughts: A Tale of Two Persia’s
Persia’s legacy in Scripture is twofold. It was once an instrument of restoration—being an unlikely ally in fulfilling God’s promises to Israel. Yet it also appears in visions of future judgment, as part of a coalition that will fall before God.
The message is clear: God uses nations for His purposes—both for building up and tearing down. From the days of Cyrus to the headlines of today, Persia remains part of the prophetic picture. And, through it all, God remains sovereign, weaving history, prophecy, and promise into a plan that will not fail. All of this leads us to the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Iran (Elam and Persia)
By Daymond Duck - https://www.raptureready.com/2025/06/21/iran-elam-and-persia-by-daymond-duck/
I have been saving some articles on this subject by Bill Salus, Dave Reagan, and John McTernan for approximately ten years.
I believe what they wrote is very important, and it is a good time to mention some of the things they had to say.
It is important to understand that the nation called Iran today was two territories or nations (Elam and Persia) in Old Testament times.
As I understand it:
Assyria conquered Elam about 646 B.C.
Babylon conquered Assyria about 626 B.C.
The Medes and Persia conquered Babylon about 536 B.C.
They called their nation Persia, and Elam was part of Persia.
Persia changed its name to Iran in 1935.
So modern Iran is ancient Persia, and ancient Persia controls the more ancient nation called Elam (about one-fifth of the nation of Iran).
It is on the Persian Gulf, and a lot of Iran’s nuclear facilities are there, including the nuclear reactor that Russia built at Bushehr.
This is important because:
There is a latter-day (end of the age) prophecy in the Bible about Elam (Jer. 49:34-39) and a separate prophecy about Persia (Ezek. 38-39; Gog and Magog).
It looks like the prophecy of Elam will be fulfilled before the prophecy of Persia (Elam fulfilled before the Battle of Gog and Magog is fulfilled).
And it is just possible that Israel’s current attack on Iran will fulfill the prophecy of Elam (like Jer. 49:34-39 may be being fulfilled right now).
Let’s look at the prophecy of Elam (part of modern Iran; Jer. 49:34-39).
Jeremiah 49:34 reads, “The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah, the prophet, against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah, king of Judah, saying…”
From this, we learn that Jeremiah wrote his prophecy about 10 years before Ezekiel wrote his (two different men, two different times, two different places in Iran, two different outcomes).
Incidentally, Jer. 49:39 says the prophecy of Elam will come to pass in the latter days, and Ezek. 38:8, 16 says the prophecy about Persia will take place in the latter years and latter days (at the very end of the age).
Jeremiah 49:35 reads, “Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.”
A bow shoots weapons (arrows), but a broken bow cannot shoot a weapon.
In the latter days, Elam will want to shoot arrows (missiles) at someone, but God will break her bow (missile launchers).
This will disable Elam’s most powerful weapons (missiles, not planes, tanks, etc.).
Jeremiah 49:36 reads, “And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four corners of heaven, and scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation to which the outcasts of Elam shall not come.”
God’s judgment will fall upon Elam (part of modern Iran where most of Iran’s nuclear facilities are located).
Elam will be attacked from every direction.
Many of Elam’s citizens will (temporarily) leave and go to other nations (there has been a report that radiation and chemicals are leaking from one of Elam’s damaged nuclear reactors).
Jeremiah 49:37 reads, “For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before those who seek their life, and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the Lord; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them.”
God will cause Elam to be troubled, alarmed, bewildered.
God’s anger will fall upon Elam.
God will send the sword (an ancient military weapon) upon Elam, and it will persist until that area of Elam is destroyed.
Jeremiah 49:38 reads, “And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from there the king and the princes, saith the Lord.”
In addition to overthrowing Elam’s military, God will overthrow Elam’s religion (Islam) and cause the people of Elam to turn to Him.
God will destroy the head of Elam and those under him.
Jeremiah 49:39 reads, “But it shall come to pass in the latter days that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the Lord.”
After Elam becomes subject to God, He will cause those who have fled to return home, and it will be the latter days (at the end of the age).
Let’s look at the prophecy of Persia (Iran).
Ezekiel 38:1-6 lists at least 7 entities that will attack Israel in the Gog of Magog war: Meshech, Tubal, Persia, Cush, Put, Gomer, and Togarmah.
Notice that Ezekiel mentions Persia (part of Iran), but he does not mention Elam (the other part of Iran).
In fact, Elam is not mentioned anywhere in Ezekiel 38 or 39.
Why?
It may be speculation, but Elam has already been dealt with when Ezekiel 38 and 39 happens?
Notice that the other nations mentioned in the Battle of Gog of Magog are not mentioned in the prophecy about Elam.
Notice that the end result is different: God breaks Elam’s bow in Elam’s own country, but God destroys Persia on the mountains of Israel.
Notice that God uses a sword against Elam, but He uses natural disasters (an earthquake, flooding rain, large hailstones, fire, and brimstone) against Persia and her allies.
So, there is evidence that we have two different wars, and the first one (breaking Elam’s bow) will shortly precede the Battle of Gog of Magog.
It appears that following the weakening of Elam (part of Iran), Persia (the other part of Iran) will be weakened, but Persia won’t give up on trying to destroy Israel.
Persia will yield to Russia’s desire (the hook in Gog’s jaw) to seize the silver and gold, cattle and goods, of Israel; join Russia, Turkey, and others; and be destroyed by God on the mountains of Israel (Ezek. 38:4; 12-13; 38-18-39:6).
Here are some articles that seem to indicate that the end of the age is near:
As you read this, if you do, remember that God told you Israel will have a great army at the end of the age (Ezek. 37:10).
One, concerning wars and rumors: starting at about 3 a.m. on June 13, 2025 (Israel time), here are some updates as I received them.
Day One (Friday, June 13, 2025):
About 200 Israeli aircraft struck dozens of targets in Iran, purportedly to prevent Iran from building nuclear bombs.
Israel attacked Iran’s top military leaders first (to catch them by surprise and kill them before they went into hiding), then Israel attacked Iran’s top nuclear scientists (to keep them from hiding and later restoring Iran’s nuclear facilities), then Israel attacked Iran’s primary nuclear facilities at Natanz, and then Israel attacked dozens of Iran’s missile launchers and storage sites for surface-to-surface missiles.
Israel didn’t lose even one plane.
Israel declared a state of emergency, sirens started sounding in northern Israel, and Israel’s cabinet went into hiding to protect its people and leaders in case there was an immediate Iranian response.
It was reported that the U.S. was not involved, but the U.S. had redirected 20,000 anti-drone missiles that were destined for Ukraine to the Middle East to protect Israel and U.S. bases from an Iranian response.
The White House warned Iran that it will pay a heavy price if it attacks any U.S. bases.
Israel said this will be a multi-day attack on Iran, so the public should expect more attacks.
An Iranian official said Iran’s response to the Israeli attack is being discussed at the highest levels, and when it comes, it will be harsh and decisive.
Israel said it had attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities at Natanz twice, and several floors of underground structures had been destroyed.
Iran launched more than 100 drones at Israel that would take hours to arrive, Israel had time to prepare for them and shoot them down.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) warned that Israel and the U.S. would face consequences.
In the late afternoon, Iran fired three barrages of missiles (almost 100 each time) at Israel, but Israel and the U.S. shot most of them out of the air. Nevertheless, 41 Israelis were wounded, and 2 are in critical condition.
Israel destroyed dozens of Iranian military targets, including the Tabriz airbase.
Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities at Isfahan.
The Houthis in Yemen fired a missile that no one tried to intercept, and it fell in Hebron. The damage is being evaluated.
The U.S. warned Iraq that it would attack if any pro-Iranian groups in Iraq attacked U.S. troops.
Israel destroyed Iran’s airport in Tabriz.
Franklin Graham urged Christians to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Day Two (Saturday, June 14, 2025):
Iran continued to fire volleys of missiles (almost 100 each time) at Israel, millions of Jews went into shelters, and there was significant damage to Israel’s military headquarters’ main command center.
Experts said Israel has greatly damaged above-ground structures at Iran’s nuclear sites, but the centrifuges that are deep underground have not been hurt.
Israel warned Iran that Tehran (Iran’s capital city; its largest and richest city) will burn if Iran keeps firing missiles at civilian targets in Israel.
Israel is successfully shooting down about 95% of Iran’s missiles.
When Iran launches a missile at Israel, Iran exposes the location of its missile site, and Israel attacks it.
Israel is overwhelming Iran’s defense systems with swift, precise, and devastating attacks.
50 Israeli jets are flying over Iran without interference.
Iran has asked Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis (Iran’s vaunted Islamic resistance) for help, but except for one lone Houthi missile, Iran’s request has been ignored.
After just one day of war, Iran desperately asked Qatar and Oman to convince Pres. Trump to stop the war (But Trump is in no rush to respond).
An Iranian missile barrage on northern Israel killed 5 and wounded 24 people.
Israel attacked a large oil depot in Tehran that produces about 7 million liters of oil a day. There was some damage, but it was soon up and running.
Netanyahu warned that Israeli jets will soon be a common sight over Iran.
Day Three (Sunday, June 15, 2025):
Prime Min. Netanyahu said Iranian missile barrages have killed 14 Israelis and wounded more than 390.
The Israeli air force is striking dozens of missile targets in Iran.
Israel has had tremendous success striking Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, but Iran has thousands of missiles and 150-250 launchers, so it may take Israel a few weeks to get all of them.
It has been reported that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has moved to an underground bunker in Levezan, a heavily fortified military site northeast of Tehran deep below the surface in one of the most secretive and militarized zones in Iran.
Terrorists in Iraq launched 3 drones at U.S. bases there, but the drones were intercepted.
Russian Pres. Putin and Turkey’s Pres. Erdogan condemned Israel’s military attack on Iran and expressed concern that it could lead to a wider war (Gog and Magog perhaps????).
An Iranian missile caused significant damage to several buildings in Israel.
It was reported that Israel has officially requested the U.S. to help destroy Iran’s underground nuclear facilities at Fordow. The U.S. reportedly said it does not intend to intervene, but if Iran attacks U.S. forces in the Middle East the U.S. will strike back hard.
The UK has agreed to help Israel defend against incoming Iranian missiles.
Day Four (Monday, June 16, 2025):
The overall death toll of Israelis since the beginning of the war rose to 16.
Israel was carrying out large-scale attacks in Natanz and other missile sites across Iran.
An Iranian missile killed 8 Israelis and wounded 287 at 3 different locations.
Iranian missiles have damaged almost 15,000 homes in Israel.
Israel’s air force and navy said they have intercepted more than 100 Iranian drones since the beginning of the war.
Israel believes they have destroyed (120) more than one-third of Iran’s missile launchers (perhaps Elam’s bows).
The IAEA confirmed that there is radioactive and chemical contamination at Iran’s Natanz nuclear reactor.
Trump warned the citizens of Tehran to leave. He said Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
Israel urged the residents in District 3 of Tehran to leave the area.
Israeli jets destroyed a radio station in Tehran that Iran’s military used to spread propaganda, but it was soon spreading propaganda again at a backup station. There were other massive explosions in Tehran.
Prime Min. Netanyahu said Israel is on the way to victory in Iran.
Iran is urgently seeking a ceasefire with Israel and has asked Russia for help.
Iran told the U.S that Iran would resume negotiations with the U.S. over its quest for nuclear weapons if the U.S. will stay out of the war (Note: Resuming negotiations is not the same as giving up its quest for nuclear weapons, and Iran did not say it would do that. Negotiations with Iran go nowhere).
Day Five (Tuesday, June 17, 2025):
Trump said the U.S. knows exactly where the Ayatollah Khamenei is hiding, but the U.S. won’t take him out.
Israel said it is ready to strike Iran’s underground nuclear facility at Fordow.
Israel has killed at least 30 senior officials associated with the IRGC and Iran’s nuclear program.
Iran fired a barrage of 20 missiles at Israel, one made it to central Israel, and there were reports of property damage but no casualties.
Iran’s missile barrages are getting smaller, meaning it has lost a lot of launchers (bows), and it has fewer and fewer options.
Some Iranian military officers are seeking to defect.
Iran said it will soon close the Strait of Hormuz.
There was an unconfirmed report that former Iranian Pres. Ahmadinejad and his wife and two sons were assassinated by masked gunmen in Tehran today.
Following a letter from Mike Huckabee, U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Pres. Trump went to a secure place called the war room to receive military and intelligence briefings on Israel’s war with Iran. We can only speculate about what he will hear and what decisions he will make.
Trump posted this message on Truth Social: “Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”
Trump called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender.”
Iran fired a second barrage of missiles at Israel (no casualties).
Israel struck dozens of targets in Tehran.
Tehran’s main oil refinery and surrounding facilities are burning.
Day Six (Wednesday, June 18, 2025):
Israel destroyed two centrifuge production facilities and a rotor production facility in Tehran.
Israel destroyed five Iranian attack helicopters.
Turkish Pres. Erdogan accused Israel of genocide worse than Hitler.
Russia cautioned the U.S. against direct military support for Israel.
Israel struck another Iranian airport.
Israel said the Ayatollah Khamenei will be held accountable for his actions.
Israel issued a 2-kilometer evacuation order around Iran’s Arak nuclear facility, and in short order, 40 Israeli jets attacked the facility.
An Iranian missile barrage struck a hospital and many homes in Israel; lots of damage; many Israelis injured.
Russia ordered its workers at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear reactor to evacuate.
Trump has approved U.S. military orders for an attack on Iran, and ordered a third aircraft carrier to the Middle East, but is giving the Ayatollah a final chance to accept his demand for Iran’s nuclear facilities to be dismantled. He is also preparing to back up his threat to attack Iran if U.S. bases in the Middle East are attacked.
The Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran will never surrender.
The U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, announced evacuation flights and cruise ship departures for U.S. citizens wanting to leave Israel.
(Note: Things are happening by the minute, but I need to break this off and send it to Rapture Ready for posting two days from now.)
Two, on June 16, 2025, the Prophecy News Watch (PNW) staff posted 10 reasons why they believe Israel’s current war with Iran is not the Battle of Gog of Magog prophesied in Ezekiel 38.
Russia Has Not Yet Taken the Helm.
The Attack Doesn’t Come from the North.
Israel Is Not Living in Peace.
The Motivation Is Not Plunder.
No Supernatural Judgment Has Occurred.
There Is No Massive Ground Army.
The Prophetic Timing Still Doesn’t Fit.
The Required Coalition Is Absent.
Israel Is Highly Prepared, Not Naïve.
The Role of Sheba and Dedan Has Not Emerged.
(My note: concerning the timing, I believe the Battle of Gog of Magog could be before the Tribulation Period. I share this because I believe it is a good article, and I believe most of the reasons are right on target.)
Four, concerning war: when Israel was in the wilderness, God told Moses to make two trumpets of silver to blow at certain times (Num. 10:1-9).
God said, “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved” (Num. 10:9).
On June 13, 2025, Biblically crafted silver trumpets were blown on Israel’s army bases just as God told the Jews to do.
It was reported that this was the first time in modern history that Israel did this.
(My opinion: Israel’s success is God’s doing. It is His response to Israel’s obedience and the prayers of Christians and Jews all over the world.)
(FYI: The two Biblically crafted silver trumpets exist because they are the ones that have been made for use at the rebuilt Temple – along with a lot of other things.)
Five, concerning Israel’s current war: on June 12, 2025, the day before Israel struck its first target in Iran, Israel’s Prime Min. Netanyahu went to the Wailing Wall on the Temple Mount to pray and to place a piece of paper in one of the cracks in the wall.
The piece of paper contained part of a verse of Scripture: “Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion” (Num. 23:24).
Early the next morning, he announced that the war had started and he was naming it “Operation Rising Lion.”
This reminds us of three other verses of Scripture:
They shall follow the Lord; he shall roar like a lion (Hos. 11:10).
The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake; but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel (Joel 3:16).
The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed (Rev. 5:5).
(My opinion: I am impressed with the fact that Netanyahu went to the Temple Mt. to pray before the war began, and that he used Scripture to name the war, and to encourage his people to rise up. Israel is God’s Battle Ax when He chooses to deal with a nation or nations.)
(My opinion: The trumpet sounded, and Netanyahu told his people to rise up. The trumpet of God will soon sound, and the dead in Christ will rise up, and the living will be caught up.)
(My opinion: The verse of Scripture says the Lord will be Israel’s hope. Christians are looking for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Titus 2:13).
(My speculation: In the Battle of Gog and Magog, no nation helps Israel, and God gets the glory. Pres. Trump has been adamant that the U.S. will not fight for Israel unless Iran attacks Americans or American bases in Iraq or Syria. I am wondering if God is keeping the U.S. out of the war because He wants Israel to give Him the glory for its success.)
Six, concerning the Two-State Solution: on June 12, 2025, Jewish News Service (JNS) said,
A senior Israeli government official said the idea of a two-state agreement is now viewed by most Israelis as a security threat – no longer a path to peace but a road to destruction.
Polls show that more than 87% of Jewish Israelis reject the two-state concept.
The illusion of peace through concessions has been permanently shattered.
(My opinion: I wish the Two-State Solution had been permanently shattered, but I believe the Bible teaches otherwise.)
Seven, concerning Israel’s borders and a rebuilt Temple: on June 12, 2025, the nascent (newly constructed, shaping up) Sanhedrin (about 70 religious leaders that controlled the religious life of Jews in Old Testament times) ruled,
That the Jewish people are now clearly in the prophesied third inheritance of the land, the first being by Joshua, the second after the Babylonian exile.
The third inheritance refers to the prophesied return of the Jews from the exile that followed the destruction of the Second Temple by the Romans in 70 CE.
Jewish tradition holds that this return will usher in the building of the Third Temple, the return of the Davidic Dynasty, and the messianic era.
Eight, concerning world government: on June 14, 2025, the Bilderberg group gathered in Sweden to discuss global issues.
Two new issues on the agenda were depopulation and immigration.
This troubles Bible prophecy teachers because the Bible warns of distress of nations, wars, killing people that refuse to take the Mark, etc.
Nine, concerning natural disasters: on June 15, 2025, record-breaking rainfall (6.4 inches in 24 hrs.) in San Antonio caused flooding that killed 11 people, injured dozens, and caused widespread damage.
Nine, concerning the coming Battle of Gog and Magog: following Iran’s threat to attack U.S. forces in the Middle East, on June 15, 2025, Russian Pres. Putin and Turkey’s Pres. Erdogan condemned Israel’s military attack on Iran and expressed concern that it could lead to a wider war.
On June 16, 2025, it was reported that the U.S. has moved more than 31 refueling planes, and it is sending another aircraft carrier and several destroyers to the Middle East to greatly increase America’s air power if it is needed.
(Notice this: We now have threats from Russia, Iran, Turkey, and others; the Gog of Magog coalition.)
(My opinion: Israel is greatly weakening Iran and setting Iran back for years. Iran is losing its power. Iran’s future is in doubt. Iran is desperate to stop the bleeding. Iran is begging for a ceasefire and threatening the U.S. if it doesn’t call off Israel. Iran has military agreements with Russia and Turkey. Russia needs drones and other supplies for its war in Ukraine. She may cut a deal with Russia to help stop Israel. The Battle of Gog and Magog may be shaping up.)
Ten, concerning the distress of nations, with perplexity, the seas (of humanity) and the waves roaring (Luke 21:25): on June 16, 2025, it was reported that Bill O’Reilly said his investigation showed that George Soros was giving large sums of money to a group of paid rioters protesting Pres. Trump’s deportation of immigrants, and Gov. Newsome and the state of California gave millions of tax dollars to another group.
FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and He is the only way to get there; John 14:6).
Finally, are you Rapture Ready?
If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.
If the Lord puts in on your Heart to Help Us, we would be Forever Grateful!

Iran Turns to Russia for Help as the U.S. Braces For “Asymmetric Terror Warfare” In the Middle East and On U.S. Soil
Michael Snyder – https://endoftheamericandream.com/iran-turns-to-russia-for-help-as-the-u-s-braces-for-asymmetric-terror-warfare-in-the-middle-east-and-on-u-s-soil/
Did anyone out there actually believe that Iran would roll over and surrender once we bombed their nuclear facilities? Needless to say, that was never going to happen. The guys running Iran are lunatics that would rather die than surrender. They are “Twelvers” that are eagerly anticipating the arrival of “the Mahdi”, and since he is supposed to come during a time of great chaos there are many in Iran that are very excited that war has erupted. If you are not familiar with the “Twelver movement”, the following is a pretty good summary from Wikipedia…
Twelver Shi’ism (Arabic: اِثْنَا عَشَرِيَّة, romanized: Ithnā ʿAshariyya), also known as Imamism (Arabic: إِمَامِيَّة, romanized: ʿImāmiyya) or Ithna Ashari, is the largest branch of Shi’a Islam, comprising about 90% of all Shi’a Muslims. The term Twelver refers to its adherents’ belief in twelve divinely ordained leaders, known as the Twelve Imams, and their belief that the last Imam, Imam al-Mahdi, lives in occultation (ghayba) and will reappear as “the awaited Mahdi” (al-Mahdi al-muntazar).
Twelver Shi’as believe that the Twelve Imams are divinely appointed as both spiritual and political successors to the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and that they possess special knowledge and authority to guide the Muslim community. According to Twelver theology, the Twelve Imams are exemplary human individuals who rule over the Muslim community (Ummah) with justice, and are able to preserve and interpret the Islamic law(Sharia) and the esoteric meaning of the Qur’an. The words and deeds (sunnah) of Muhammad and the Imams are a guide and model for the Muslim community to follow. As a result, Muhammad and the Imams must be free from error and sin, a doctrine known as Ismah (literally ‘protection’) or infallibility, and must be chosen by divine decree, or nass, through Muhammad.[1][2][3]
Nothing that the U.S. or Israel does is going to force the Iranians to the negotiating table.
Now that war has begun, they are going to fight to the last breath.
And they are reaching out for help.
Very late on Sunday night, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi traveled to Moscow to talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin…
Iran’s foreign minister will head to Moscow late Sunday night to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the wake of U.S. strikes on Tehran’s nuclear facilities.
The Daily Telegraph reports Abbas Araghchi confirmed Iran “reserves all options to defend its security, its interests, its people…All options are on the table” while applauding Russia as “a friend of Iran.”
This wasn’t just a routine visit.
The Iranians are getting pummeled, and they want Russia to get involved…
His visit to Russia will raise significant concerns over what kind of support Moscow is willing to offer Tehran at this moment, which could include sending defence materials, getting involved directly militarily or throwing diplomatic weight behind Iran, the Telegraph report stated.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has already warned the U.S. to “expect regrettable responses” to its strikes.
As I discussed last week, the Russians have been extremely vocal about the crisis in Iran.
They have been developing very close ties with the Iranians in recent years, and they are not pleased about what is happening at all.
But to what extent will the Russians be willing to intervene?
We shall see.
Interestingly, just hours ago former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev warned that other countries “are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads”…
What have the Americans accomplished with their nighttime strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran?
1. Critical infrastructure of the nuclear fuel cycle appears to have been unaffected or sustained only minor damage.
2. The enrichment of nuclear material — and, now we can say it outright, the future production of nuclear weapons — will continue.
3. A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads.
4. Israel is under attack, explosions are rocking the country, and people are panicking.
5. The US is now entangled in a new conflict, with prospects of a ground operation looming on the horizon.
6. Iran’s political regime has survived — and in all likelihood, has come out even stronger.
7. The people are rallying around the country’s spiritual leadership, including those who were previously indifferent or opposed to it.
8. Donald Trump, once hailed as ‘president of peace,’ has now pushed the US into another war.
9. The vast majority of countries around the world oppose the actions of Israel and the United States.
10. At this rate, Trump can forget about the Nobel Peace Prize — not even with how rigged it has become. What a way to kick things off, Mr. President. Congratulations!
Why would he say such a thing?
And what other countries was he talking about?
North Korea?
Pakistan?
Russia?
There are supposedly only nine nations on the entire planet that have nuclear weapons.
Of course if someone did supply Iran with nuclear warheads, that would be considered an act of war by the United States and Israel.
We are so close to seeing this thing spiral completely out of control.
I think that the Trump administration was hoping that the Iranians would decide not to respond to the bombing of their nuclear facilities, but that was simply not realistic.
In fact, the Iranians have already told us that they will use “all necessary means” to defend themselves…
Iran said on Sunday that it was ready to defend itself by “all necessary means” after unprecedented US strikes on its nuclear facilities.
“Iran is resolutely determined to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity, national security and people by all necessary means,” foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei posted on X.
Before the U.S. attacked, the Iranians had a reason to hold back because they didn’t want to draw the U.S. into the conflict.
But now that the U.S. has dropped bunker-buster bombs, the Iranians no longer have any cause for restraint.
There is no telling what they might do.
In addition to closing the Strait of Hormuz, one of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s top advisers is suggesting that U.S. warships should be targeted…
A prominent adviser to Iran’s supreme leader has called for missile strikes on US Navy ships and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil shipping route.
“Following America’s attack on the Fordow nuclear installation, it is now our turn,” warned Hossein Shariatmadari, the editor-in-chief of the hardline Kayhan newspaper, a well-known conservative voice who has previously identified himself as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s “representative.”
A Telegram message from Kayhan quoted Shariatmadari as saying: “Without hesitation or delay, as a first step we must launch missile strikes on the American naval fleet based in Bahrain and simultaneously close the Strait of Hormuz to American, British, German, and French shipping.”
In addition, we are being warned that we could see “asymmetric terror warfare”…
With its military and top Islamist leadership on the ropes, a weakened Tehran is expected to resort to asymmetric terror warfare in a bid to destabilise its adversaries.
The White House has reportedly been monitoring possible Iranian sleeper cells in the US,
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has warned of a “heightened threat environment” in the US following Trump’s strikes against Iran.
Without a doubt, there will be terror attacks in the Middle East.
In fact, it appears that the attacks have already started…
At least 22 worshippers have been killed and 63 wounded in a suicide bomb attack at a Christian church in Syria.
The bomber opened fire as people were praying inside Mar Elias Church, in the Dweila neighborhood of Damascus, before detonating his vest.
Some children are thought to be among the wounded, according to state media.
But will there also be terror attacks on U.S. soil?
We are being told that “soft targets” may be particularly easy for sleeper cells to hit…
Law enforcement officials expressed particular concern about “soft targets” including churches, synagogues and tourist attractions that could be vulnerable to attack. Police departments in smaller cities across the country also increased security measures, citing concerns about potential threats during summer events and parades.
We may see some of that, but hitting churches, schools and sporting events with conventional weapons will not alter the trajectory of the conflict for Iran.
However, the use of weapons of mass destruction could make an enormous difference.
If Iranian agents were to release highly contagious biological agents in major cities in the United States and Israel, the death toll could be in the millions.
There have been rumors about Iran’s biological weapons program for decades, and the Iranians are actually crazy enough to launch such an attack.
If the Iranians feel like the regime is about to fall and they have nothing left to lose, they will almost certainly throw everything that they have got at us.
That means that if they have acquired nukes from North Korea or somewhere else there is a good chance that they will use them.
The Iranians are down, but they are definitely not out.
And I have a feeling that they still have some very serious cards to play.
Sadly, most Americans still don’t understand what is happening.
We are literally at war with Iran, and President Trump just posted a message on his Truth Social account that suggested that regime change in Iran would be a good thing.
Iranian leaders are watching everything that our leaders are saying and they are weighing their next moves.
If they get pushed to the edge, they are not afraid to go out with a bang.
For decades, our politicians talked about the need to keep Iran from getting weapons of mass destruction.
But what if they already have them?
And what if they decide to use them?
Those that are running around proclaiming “mission accomplished” are not being wise, because there is a tremendous amount of chaos ahead of us.
Stay alert and keep a very close eye on the news.
I have a feeling that it won’t be too long before the Iranians start striking back in some very painful ways.
The Hour for Which We Were Born
By Tom Gilbreath - https://www.hallindsey.com/www-6-22-2025/
With the battles that have been raging in the Middle East, warfare and combat are on all our minds. Earlier this month, we commemorated the anniversary of the Normandy Landing — DDay. The first unconfirmed reports of the Allied landing hit US radio stations a little after midnight Eastern War Time on June 6, 1944. Official confirmation came at 3:32 am. Most Americans woke up to the news. People poured into the streets. Many stores, restaurants, and other businesses closed for the day. Church bells tolled, and factory whistles blew.
Some people stepped outside and shouted with excitement, as though the battle had already been won. But most Americans were more measured in their response. D-Day historian Stephen Ambrose wrote, “The impulse to pray was overwhelming.” People filled churches across the land. Rarely has the importance of a moment been so clearly delineated. The New York Times editorialized, “We have come to the hour for which we were born.”
And now, at our moment in history, that’s how it is again. We, too, have come to the hour for which we were born. Will we stand on God’s Word, or conform to this world?
God Himself has chosen to teach us. Isaiah 30:21 (NKJV) says, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’” In His loving grace, He has spoken His Word. He has given us the choice to obey or hesitate; to march forward in His strength or shrink back in fear.
This could apply to a million different things, but I’m thinking now about support for Israel. Once upon a time in the United States, political liberals and conservatives stood together on Israel’s behalf. It took no courage to stand with Israel because, starting with President Harry Truman, Democrat, almost everyone did.
In the last few decades, some liberals faltered. It became politically expedient for many on that side (though far from all) to call Israel an “apartheid state,” or even equate them to the Nazis who once murdered more than a third of all Jews worldwide. Then, in just the last few months, a large group of conservatives have joined the most extreme liberals regarding Israel. Conservative voices you perhaps once thought you could trust are today saying things like, “Drop Israel.”
Regarding Iran, President Trump has shown that he is not for a ceasefire, but for peace. The difference is vast. A premature ceasefire means Iran quickly rebuilds. Peace means victory for all people of goodwill. A premature ceasefire endangers Israel, the United States, and the world. A premature ceasefire again kicks the can down the road, hoping the deadly problem will somehow solve itself. Peace means stopping the Iranian regime’s most dangerous gambit, not for a few months, but for years.
But many don’t understand. Today, when President Trump goes on social media to back Israel, many of his own voters swarm out of the woodwork with vile statements of pure anti-Jewish, antisemitic, anti-Zionist hatred.
In this crucial hour, regarding Israel and every other thing in life, we must examine the ground upon which we stand. In Matthew 12:30, Jesus said, “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.”
According to the US Department of Defense, D-Day means, “The unnamed day on which a particular operation commences.” A great spiritual war rages and D-Day is here. Where do you stand?
Daily Jot: Faith over fear–Seeing with Heaven’s Eyes
Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com
Has fear ever overtaken your faith? The Israelites saw giants and forgot they were children of the King. Fear shrank their faith, and in that moment, the promises of God seemed smaller than the shadows cast by their enemies. What they saw with their eyes overpowered what they should have remembered in their hearts, resulting in an entire generation wandering in the wilderness. Numbers 13:1–15:41, offers a timeless lesson in trust, perspective, and identity. It begins with God telling Moses, “Send men on your behalf to reconnoiter the land Kena’an, which I am giving to the people of Israel.” The key phrase is “on your behalf.” This was not God’s idea.
It was the people who wanted to send spies, a point Moses clarifies later in Deuteronomy 1:22: “You approached me, every one of you, and said, ‘Let’s send men ahead of us to explore the country…’” The sin, then, wasn’t in gathering intelligence—it was in choosing fear and unbelief over faith in God’s promise. This “Sin of the Spies” had greater consequences than even that of the sin of the Golden Calf. Hebrews 3:19 states it plainly: “So we see that they were not able to enter because of lack of trust.” They believed more in the size of the giants than in the strength of God. Instead of focusing on God, they turned inward to themselves as Numbers 13:33 reveals: “To ourselves we looked like grasshoppers…” The emotion of fear becomes self-indulgent, leaving faith in the balance. They forgot they were God’s people, chosen and beloved.
One of the lessons from the unbelief of the spies is that we must remember to esteem ourselves properly. From the very beginning, we were created b’tzelem Elohim—in the image of God. If we lose sight of that, we see ourselves as outsiders rather than heirs. Knowing your worth in God’s eyes gives you the boldness to claim what He’s promised. That’s what Israel missed in that moment. And it’s what many believers still struggle with today. The failure was in fearing what their eyes saw, the giants, rather than trusting in God. To remedy that, the Lord commanded them to wear tzit tzit (Numbers 15:38-40)— the blue fringes at the corners of their garment to remind them of heaven, and the commandments.
The verbal connection here is the Hebrew word ure’etim, meaning, “And you shall see,” and it appears only three times in the Torah. The first occurs when Moses briefs the spies: “And you shall see the land, what it is (Numbers 13:18).” The second is in the commandment of the tzit tzit: “And you shall see it and remember all of God’s commandments (Numbers 15:39).” It is the heavenly viewpoint that changes our perceptions. Had the Israelites seen God rather than their fears, there outcome would be different. As Christ followers, we’re called to that same perspective. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Trusting is being confident of what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see.” The difference between fear and faith is seeing the world from a heavenly perspective. Choose to see with heaven’s eyes by trusting in the Lord’s great love for you.

Several years ago, there was a story in the news about a man who had a tree fall on his leg. With no one around to come to his rescue, he took out a pocketknife and proceeded to amputate his leg. Then he made his way up the road until someone picked him up and raced him to help. Amazingly, this man who had a severed leg still had enough presence of mind to tell the driver of the vehicle not to go too fast. He said, “I didn’t come this far to die on the road. Take it easy.”
I remember reading that story and thinking, “He did what? How could this guy cut off his leg? I would have laid under the tree and just waited for help.” But the doctors who treated him later said that if he hadn’t taken such a drastic measure, he would have died. He did it to save his life.
Sometimes we must take radical, drastic steps to remove ourselves from whatever it is that is hurting us spiritually. That may mean immediate change. It may mean physically getting up and saying, “I’m out of here.”
One of God’s greatest gifts to us is the Holy Spirit, who dwells inside every believer. Jesus said the Holy Spirit “will convict the world of its sin” (John 16:8 NLT). The Holy Spirit warns us when we’re in situations that threaten our spiritual well-being. What we do with His warnings is up to us. Ignoring His prompts is like ignoring a fire alarm or a beeping carbon monoxide detector or the check engine light in your car.
You might be at that party. Watching that movie. In that relationship. In that group of people. In that setting. Wherever it is, you realize you shouldn’t be there. The Holy Spirit is convicting you. He is saying, “What are you doing here?” Don’t be foolish. Just get up and go. You can make your explanations later, if necessary. The important thing is to remove yourself from the situation immediately.
The apostle Paul wrote, “Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11 NLT). The best place to stand firm is a distance away from the devil’s traps and temptations. In other words, maintain the high ground and stay out of the trenches.
First Corinthians 10:13 says, “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure” (NLT). No matter what you’re facing, God has an escape plan, a way out. Do the wise thing and take it.
