There are many people out there that seem to think that the Iranians have essentially surrendered by agreeing to this ceasefire, but that is not the case at all. The Iranians still hate the United States, they still hate Israel, and they still plan to move forward with their nuclear program. Ultimately, their long-term goals have not changed at all. But a ceasefire is certainly strategically advantageous for the Iranians at this moment, and so they eagerly embraced President Trump’s proposal. Unfortunately, those that believe that this ceasefire is the end of the story are way off base.

In the western world, we tend to view a ceasefire as a complete cessation of hostilities that leads to permanent peace.

But in Islam, a ceasefire is viewed very differently.

Islamic law allows for a temporary “tactical pause” in hostilities known as a “Hudna”, and it is considered to be a time to rearm and regroup in order to continue the fight later.

When I asked Google AI about the Islamic concept of a “Hudna”, this is what I was told…

Temporary nature: A key characteristic of a hudna, particularly in modern contexts, is that it is a temporary pause in hostilities, not a permanent peace agreement. It is a limited cessation of violence, potentially for a fixed duration.
Tactical advantages: For groups like Hamas, a hudna can be a tactical maneuver, allowing for regrouping, rearming, and preparation for future actions. It does not necessarily imply a recognition of the other side’s right to exist, but rather a temporary period of calm.
Historical context: The concept of hudna is rooted in Islamic history, with the famous Treaty of Hudaybiyyah between Muhammad and the Quraysh tribe in 628 CE serving as a notable example. This historical precedent suggests a potential duration of around ten years for such truces.
Difference from Western cease-fires: It’s crucial to understand that a hudna can differ significantly from Western concepts of a ceasefire or truce. While a Western cease-fire often aims to pave the way for a permanent peace, a hudna can be primarily a tactical tool for a period of calm, with the potential for hostilities to resume later.

A “Hudna” is not a permanent commitment, and it does not require Muslims to abandon their long-term goals.

The very first “Hudna” came in 628 AD. It was strategically advantageous for Muhammad to make temporary peace with his enemies, and then once he had rearmed and regrouped he was able to take Mecca in 630 AD…

The Treaty of al-Hudaybiya (Arabic: صُلح الْحُدَيْبِيَة, romanized: Ṣulḥ al-Ḥudaybiya) was an event that took place during the lifetime of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. It was a pivotal treaty between Muhammad, representing the state of Medina, and the tribe of the Quraysh in Mecca in March 628 (corresponding to Dhu al-Qi’dah, AH 6). The treaty helped to decrease tension between the two cities, affirmed peace for a period of 10 years, and authorized Muhammad’s followers to return the following year in a peaceful pilgrimage, which was later known as the First Pilgrimage. However this treaty was broken in two years. According to Islamic sources, the treaty was broken by the Quraysh, which led Muhammad to march against Mecca in 630 with an army of 10,000 men.

The goals of Iranian leadership are the same as they were last week.

But they were being absolutely pummeled on the battlefield, and so they needed a pause in the action very badly.

Anyone that thinks that the Iranians are going to forgive and forget is just being delusional. The Iranians have very long memories, and they still want to kill their enemies and wipe the state of Israel off the map…

General Ebrahim Jabbari, senior advisor to the IRGC commander-in-chief and former commander of Supreme Leader Khamenei’s security unit, appeared on Channel 3 (Iran) on June 23, 2025. He suggested that the U.S. may have joined the conflict because Iran was on the verge of annihilating Israel. Jabbari stated that Iranians must “chop off President Trump’s hand” and “slit Netanyahu’s throat.” He also claimed that American military bases and warships in the region could be eliminated “in the blink of an eye,” and that Israel itself must be annihilated.

If the Iranians were strong enough to achieve their goals right now, they would do it.

But they aren’t strong enough, and so this ceasefire will give them much needed time.

Of course Iranian leaders are trying to spin this ceasefire as some sort of “strategic victory”…

The Iranian Supreme National Security Council announced on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic had achieved a significant strategic victory, asserting that it had “forced the enemies to seek a ceasefire.”

Citing the unity of the Iranian people, the steadfastness of its armed forces, and the guidance of its leadership, the Council emphasized that Iran had triumphed in the face of Israeli aggression. It noted that Iran’s military remains on high alert and prepared to respond decisively to any future provocation.

The Council underscored that through its vigilance, Iran’s calculated timing dismantled the enemy’s core strategy. According to Fars News Agency, the Council declared that the outcome compelled the Israeli entity to accept defeat and halt its aggression.

And the Supreme National Security Council is also making it clear that Iranian forces will remain ready with their “fingers on the trigger”…

The Supreme National Security Council, Iran’s top security body, said the Iranian armed forces, “trusting no words from the enemy and with fingers on the trigger, stand ready to deliver a decisive and punitive response to any hostile action,” according to a statement in Persian published by the semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

So don’t get too comfortable.

Fighting between the Israelis and the Iranians could erupt again at literally any moment.

But if fighting does erupt again, Israel will still have the advantage, and the Iranians understand this very well.

I think that the Iranians greatly overestimated the value of their ballistic missiles and air defense systems.

After everything that has transpired, it has become exceedingly clear that the Iranians will not be able to defeat Israel using conventional weapons.

So, I expect that Iran will shift to a strategy that focuses on unconventional weapons.

Iran is a wounded predator, and I think that the Iranians still have a major role to play in the global drama that is unfolding all around us.

Today, I told a reader that I am getting whiplash from all the twists and turns that have been happening.

Unfortunately, I am convinced that there will be a lot more twists and turns before this story is over.

The War That Shook the Region— But Left the Job Unfinished

The 12-day war between Israel and Iran was nothing short of supernatural. It was a precision-crafted military effort, executed with strategic brilliance and without precedent in modern warfare. Israel, facing its greatest existential threat since 1948, carried out a breathtaking series of operations without the loss of a single plane. Every target was hit with pinpoint accuracy—command centers, nuclear infrastructure, senior members of the Quds Force, Republican Guard generals, political figures, and top nuclear scientists. A decapitation strike in every sense.

This was a remarkable military achievement—one for the record books. And we also witnessed the courage, bravery and resilience of Israelis who took one missile hit after another, which caused the loss of life, injuries and caused a significant amount of property damage. It could have been much worse. Thank you God for your supernatural care for those in Israel and the innocent in Iran.

But it wasn’t just Israel. The United States played a critical role. Seven B-2 stealth bombers launched from Missouri, in coordination with over 125 U.S. aircraft and a volley of Tomahawk cruise missiles, struck Iranian military infrastructure with surgical precision. Every U.S. aircraft returned safely—B-2s completing their 36-hour round-trip mission, fighters landing on carriers and regional bases. It was a display of joint U.S.–Israeli resolve, skill, and dominance in warfare.

Yet the job was left unfinished.

As in 2006 with Hezbollah, and more recently with Hamas, a premature ceasefire stopped Israel just short of complete victory. Iran, like Hezbollah then, declared itself the victor in the final hours—lobbing a barrage of missiles at Israel before the ceasefire took hold. The same pattern repeated: enemies absorbing severe losses, then claiming symbolic victory before their people and the world media.

It happened in July and August 2006 when Israel was days away from eliminating Hezbollah’s threat in southern Lebanon—only to be halted by a UN-brokered ceasefire. That pause allowed Hezbollah to rearm with 150,000 rockets and 15,000 missiles under the nose of UN peacekeepers, all pointed at Israel. It happened again in 2025 with Hamas, just before the Israel–Hamas hostage deal was signed. And now it has happened with Iran.

In the backdrop, President Trump showed strength and leadership—greenlighting the initial operation, allowing Israel to decimate key Iranian military and nuclear assets. But he also faced enormous pressure. Reports indicated serious concerns from Trump’s national security circle about hypersonic missiles from China being transferred to Iran. There were threats of cyberattacks on U.S. infrastructure, retaliation from Russia, North Korea, and Tehran. In this climate of global nuclear brinkmanship, Trump opted for de-escalation and accepted a ceasefire.

The result: Trump is being hailed as a hero at the NATO meeting at The Hague for brokering a deal to end hostilities. But the deeper reality remains—China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran have not gone away. They remain grave threats to Israel, to Europe, to the United States, and to Taiwan. The geopolitical fuse has been lit.

The concern now is this: the war was an estimated 10 to 12 days from complete success. Iran’s military infrastructure was crumbling. Their ability to fund and direct operations in Iraq, Yemen, Gaza, and Lebanon was nearly paralyzed. Israel had Tehran on its knees. But once again, it was told to stand down.

So, yes, this was one of the most successful military campaigns in modern history— the most significant since World War II. But the pattern repeats: a premature ceasefire allows the enemy to recover, rearm, and regroup.

The prophetic significance cannot be ignored. Was Jeremiah 49:34-39 fulfilled?

The coalition forming between Russia, Turkey, Iran, and now China and North Korea aligns with Ezekiel 38. The threats of dirty bombs, Iranian revenge, and sleeper cells across Europe and the U.S. are not imaginary. They’re expected.

Strength must be complete. Because unfinished wars never end—they fester.

And Iran, like its allies, is not finished.

Intensified Anti-Israel and Antisemitic Activity Worldwide: A Harbinger of Things to Come?

Twice in May, monsters attacked innocent Jews, driven by the Muslim mantra to “free Palestine.” Many are asking if these events, which were preceded by intensified anti-Israel and antisemitic activity worldwide, are a harbinger of things to come? Will such hate-driven activity, perpetrated by copycats or just plain demented people, continue to proliferate?

Two young people, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, were mercilessly gunned down on the streets of Washington, D.C., on May 22nd. The perpetrator was shouting the familiar jihad call already mentioned.

Yaron and Sarah were Jewish believers in Jesus the Messiah. They were staff members at the Israeli Embassy and devoted defenders of the Jewish state. According to All Israel News, Yaron’s faith in Jesus and trust in God’s Word only deepened his passion for the people and land of Israel.

Church—sit up and notice. Wake up. Yaron and Sarah were part of us, too.

Surviving Hitler but Not a Jihadist

Then, on June 1st, an illegal alien from Egypt shouted the mantra once again— “Free Palestine”—and began a jihad attack against innocent Jews in Boulder, Colorado, with fire. One of the eight Boulder victims is a Holocaust survivor. She survived Hitler, but she may not survive a monster jihadist 80 years later.

Boulder, Colorado, is the most left-wing city in a state that has swung hard left. It is simply a fact that antisemitism is most at home in places where the Left dominates.

In the immediate aftermath of the October 7th attack against Israel, before Israel had even gone into Gaza, virtually every major American city erupted with anti-Israel protests. Posters of Israeli hostages dragged into Gaza were being ripped down by hateful bigots. You can put up a poster of a missing dog, and people will feel bad. Put up a picture of a missing Jew, and haters will fly into a rage and rip it down.

Importing Hate

Clearly, through immigration, we are importing hate into America, but one consistent target is the Jew. The Trump administration is trying to get a handle on this. They want to know which foreign students here on visas have engaged in antisemitic activities, and the entire leftwing establishment is denouncing and resisting Trump’s efforts every step of the way. Talk about calling good evil—Isaiah 5:20!

People of the Book!

The last days predict two targets: Christians and Jews—people of the Book—an interconnected people tied to Jesus the Messiah. And maybe this is just another illustration of the “grafted in” story found in Romans 9-10-11.

The Gospel came to the Jews first and was then opened up to the non-Jewish world. When non-Jewish people come to faith in Jesus, the Jewish Messiah, it is as if branches from a wild olive tree were grafted into the natural tree of Israel.

Having been welcomed into the family of God, Gentile believers have a special calling. Not only are they invited to engage in the Jewish roots of their faith in the God of Israel, but they are also chosen to make Israel jealous for a deeper relationship with Him.

The Envy of the Islamic World

Let’s be honest—the Palestinian people are free! Their lifestyle is the envy of fellow Arabs and Muslims throughout the repressive Islamic world. They had their own state. It was called Gaza. How did that work out? They let tyrants called Hamas rule and destroy their Palestinian state.

But now the entire world wants them to have another state called Palestine when the first opportunity proved to be a disaster.

God will defend His people and land, for “He that keepeth Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.” (Psalm 121:4)

Revelation 17 Harlot System

We can see on the prophetic horizon a monstrous beast lumbering in this direction with a woman riding astride its back. Dave Hunt, you might recall, wrote a provocative—even controversial—book on the subject: The Woman Rides a Beast. Most literalists believe (as did Hunt) the “woman” represents the apostate religious system that will be Antichrist’s mistress, as a counterfeit of the Church, the Bride of Jesus Christ.

The matters involved present a terrifying specter—a foreshadowing of bloody things to come, given John to record on the Isle of Patmos almost two thousand years ago:

So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. (Revelation 17:3–6)

Historicists–those who believe that most prophecy, including this one, has been fulfilled historically—say this all took place during the Roman-based persecutions throughout early Church history. The prophecy, they say, has nothing to do with things to come, except in the most general sense. Certainly, the prophecy has nothing specific to do with an end-times persecution leading to the most terrible time in human history. Such a view presents a torturous task for historicist adherents who try to explain the Revelation 17 prophecy of the wicked woman on the hideous beast.

And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. (Revelation 17:12–14)

This powerful ten-nation entity and the beast have no historical basis as accomplished fact. Any dealing with this part of the prophecy from the perspective of any but the futurist view—that there is much Bible prophecy yet to be literally fulfilled—requires spiritualizing, allegorizing, or else applying pure sophistry to everything to do with these Scriptures.

Contemporary headlines, as they do for so many prophecies yet future, make the case for the Revelation 17 prophecy coming into view in our time. It is literally shaping up for fulfillment before the eyes of those with prophetic discernment. We’ve used these commentaries many times to dissect and examine news stories that show the governments of the world reconfiguring into what George H. W. Bush, Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Barack Obama, and many others have termed “New World Order.” The dire global economic crises that have moved toward critical mass just within the past couple of years have shown the inextricable national fiscal interlinkages. It has become obvious that the world is being forced into a monetary mold that could easily morph into something like the ten-kingdom power bloc God’s Word says will give its power and authority to the beast.

I believe it will be the Rapture of the Church that will quickly bring about that ten-kings fiscal power bloc.

So, it’s reasonable to expect the harlot who rides the beast—the agglomerate ten kings and kingdoms of Revelation 17—to be somewhere in the prophetic picture, if indeed we are witnessing that monster in the making.

There has always been much talk, among those who watch for signals of the end times, about a final Catholic pope who might be Antichrist’s False Prophet. I ‘m not one who believes a future pope will necessarily become that second beast of Revelation 13.

However, the religious organization the pontiff heads will, I believe, be a major part of the nucleus of the religious amalgamation outlined in Revelation 17.

It’s quite interesting to consider here the perspective of one who came out of the Catholic Church and who I believe is one of the key observers of these profound times we face as we watch for our Lord’s return.

The new pope appears to be well qualified to be the head of an international organization. He can speak five languages including English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Portuguese and he can also read Latin and German. He is well educated with advanced degrees in Mathematics and Theology. But is he qualified to be the head of the church that Catholics believe was founded by the Lord Jesus Christ? The short answer is a resounding “No!” Jesus Christ, God’s perfect man and man’s perfect God, is the only one qualified! He is the One who purchased His church with His own blood and He is its only Head and only foundation (Acts 20:28; Eph. 5:23; 1 Cor. 3:11).

Catholics have foolishly replaced Christ as Head of the church with the pope. This is why the Reformers referred to the Pope as the antichrist, which means, the one who replaces or stands in the place of Christ. The Bible has many warnings concerning antichrists and trusting in mortal men. “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord. He will be like a bush in the wastelands…But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him” (Jer. 17:5–7). “Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation” (Psalm 146:3).

Will the Pope Be Liberal, Conservative or Biblical?

Many Catholics are wondering if Pope Leo XIV will be liberal or conservative on social and political issues. Yet, they should be more concerned with biblical issues that have eternal consequences. If he continues to preach a false gospel that keeps 1.4 billion Catholics on the wide road to destruction, he is accursed (Gal. 1:6-9). The new pope is at the center of the ongoing reach of the Catholic Church into the European structure from which the Antichrist regime, I believe, will emerge. The following shows that continuing relationship between the EU and the Vatican.

Led by its President, H.E. Mgr Mariano Crociata, the COMECE delegation introduced itself and engaged in discussion with the Holy Father on the current state of the European integration process and the European Union’s role in promoting peace and integral human development in an increasingly uncertain and rapidly evolving world. During the audience, Pope Leo XIV underscored the significance of COMECE’s mission of dialogue with the institutions of the European Union.

During the meeting, a number of pressing themes were addressed. These included the urgent need to promote dialogue and peace both within Europe and globally; the challenges posed by migration and asylum; the social implications of emerging technologies, particularly those based on Artificial Intelligence (AI); and the erosion of democracy in various regions.

The new pontiff particularly emphasized the Christian roots of Europe and their significance for the European project, while also acknowledging the presence of other cultural and religious traditions, and highlighting the importance of guiding younger generations in their faith and supporting their integral development. This brings home to my thinking how many of the megachurches within Christianity are, similarly to the EU “summits,” contributing to setting up platforms that will produce the woman who will one day ride upon the back of the beast government of Revelation 17. Like in the EU get-together, there is compromise at the heart of these mega-efforts at man-made salvation.

The methodologies employed by such churches include the idea to bring together the saved and unsaved in a sort of “summit.” The idea is one of thesis (Christian faith) and antithesis (the lost or unsaved), with the objective of producing synthesis. The “summits,” in these cases, aim to bring about dialogue between the two opposite worldviews to produce answers (synthesis) that both sides can live with.

The process is satanic at its core, denying that God’s way to redemption and reconciliation is necessary. Apostasy is the result—the Laodicean model for the end of the age.

Be sure that you’re not a part of helping that woman of wickedness climb upon the back of the beast that will one day be scarlet with the blood of the Tribulation saints.

If you’ve watched cable news or checked social media this week, you’d think President Trump had launched World War III. The media echo chamber is in full panic mode over his recent bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities. Democrats are crying foul—saying it’s “unconstitutional,” “dangerous,” and “done without Congressional approval.” It’s as if they’ve all come down with a case of selective amnesia. Let’s set the record straight. This isn’t the first time a US president has launched military strikes without going through the process of allowing Congress to approve it. In fact, some of the loudest critics of Trump’s Iran strike were part of—or cheering on—similar actions when their team was in the White House.

Barack Obama bombed seven different countries, including Libya in 2011 saying he didn’t need Congressional approval. Congress? Irrelevant. That operation went far beyond “limited engagement,” it helped oust Gaddafi and left Libya in chaos. Remember Benghazi? Obama also launched airstrikes in Syria in 2014, using a post-9/11 authorization meant for Al-Qaeda—even though he was targeting ISIS and other regional actors, not covered by that law. Bill Clinton also bombed five different countries. He bombed Iraq twice in 1993 and 1998, Bosnia (’94), Afghanistan and Sudan (‘98)—all without a Congressional green light. In 1999, he ordered a 78-day bombing campaign in Yugoslavia during the Kosovo conflict. No declaration of war. No Congressional authorization. In fact, they both defied Congress to act.

So when Democrats now cry “unconstitutional,” you’d be forgiven for asking: where was that righteous outrage before? And let’s not forget what they used to say about Iran. While campaigning in 2008, Obama warned that “all options are on the table” with Iran. Hillary Clinton, during the same campaign, promised she would “obliterate” Iran if it attacked Israel. The War Powers Resolution of 1973 allows a president to act militarily without Congressional approval for up to 60 days, if there is a national emergency created by an attack on the US, its territories, or armed forces. The president is required to notify Congress within 48 hours. According to initial reports, Trump complied with those provisions. Whether you approve of his action against Iran, the law is the law—and he followed it. And he didn’t mess it up, (Carter in Iran comes to mind).

So, what’s the real issue here? Legal concerns and Constitutional boundaries are just the cover story. This uproar is driven by partisan hypocrisy. When Democrat presidents bomb foreign targets, it’s hailed as measured diplomacy and decisive leadership. When Trump takes similar action, the same crowd screams it’s reckless and impeachable. They have no hunger for national security, but rather a high appetite for resistance and political theatre. Proverbs 21:31 says, “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but safety is of the Lord.” Preparation, strength, and clarity of mission are essential, but ultimately, our security is not in political theatre, it’s in God’s hands, who Trump thanked with great love for the success of the Iran mission. This Democratic Party hypocrisy is not only beltway hypocrisy, it’s say, it with me…Stupidocrisy.

The difference between the way God understands the future and the way we understand the future is much like the difference between an artist’s understanding of a blank canvas and our understanding of a blank canvas. The artist looks at the canvas, takes out a pencil, draws a couple of broad strokes, and then looks at it again.

We walk up and ask, “What is that?” When the artist tells us, we say, “Well, it doesn’t look like that to us.”

But the artist confidently remarks, “It’s coming along. It’s a work in progress. I have a vision, a plan.” The artist is thinking about the end result, even though he’s drawn only a couple of seemingly meaningless strokes.

Often, we look at our unfinished lives in the same way we might look at that canvas. Things may not be going as expected. Life may not be progressing according to our schedule. So we say, “The Lord must have forgotten about me. The Lord has abandoned me. It’s over.”

But we’re not forgotten or abandoned. And it’s not over. The Lord has a vision for your life. He has a plan. You’re a work in progress. You’re under construction. God isn’t finished with you yet.

We see merely the beginning. God sees the end from the beginning. We see a blank canvas. God sees a masterpiece in progress. Take heart.

The apostle Paul was quoting Isaiah 64:4 when he wrote, “That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him’” (1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT). We don’t have the tools to see in ourselves what God sees in us. So we must put our faith in Him.

That’s what Paul was doing when he wrote in Philippians 1:6, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (NLT).

We look at the broad strokes of God’s work in our lives and see only randomness. We can’t fathom how they might be connected or built on to create something more substantial. We convince ourselves that there’s no way a work of art, let alone a masterpiece, can come from them.

But look at Paul’s words in Romans 8:28: “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” (NLT). You may not see how everything in your life can work together for good, but God does.

So the wisest course of action is to follow the advice of Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding” (NLT).

Don’t fret if you can’t make sense of the work in progress in your life. Trust the Artist.
