I have recently been writing about occultism throughout the world, focusing on practices largely undertaken by individuals. So, imagine my surprise to read an article by an Iranian news agency that claims that the nation of Israel relied on occult practices during its recent war with Iran.

They reported that Abdullah Ganji, former chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)-affiliated Javan, wrote the following to his 150,000 followers on X on July 9: “After the recent war, several pieces of paper were found on the streets of Tehran containing talismans with Jewish symbols. A few years ago, the Supreme Leader said that hostile countries and Western and Hebrew intelligence services use occult sciences and jinn beings for espionage.”

His reference to the Supreme Leader’s statement is likely related to the March 2020 televised address in which Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei alleged that Iran had “enemies from among both jinn and human beings”—remarks that were later removed from some official transcripts.

Following the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah, similar claims were made by Iranian seminary teacher Mostafa Karami, who, in a televised interview, said: “Considering the Zionists’ history of subjugating genies, they carry out many of their missions through this means, and demons are their secret army.”

There is a lot to unpack here, so let’s begin with an understanding of how Islamic clerics define “jinn.”

The word “jinn” (or “jinni” in the singular) comes from the Arabic root verb “janna,” meaning “to hide or conceal.” The terms “jinn” and “genie” are used interchangeably. In fact, the English word “genie“ comes from the French “génie” which was coined as a translation of the Arabic word “jinni” in the book The Arabian Nights. Definitive information about jinn is difficult to source due to the varied interpretations and opinions of Islamic scholars over hundreds of years. According to the website whyislam.org, “Jinn are a widely misunderstood topic. Over millennia, folklore has mixed up Islamic tradition with mythological creatures, fantastical adventures, and ghost stories.”

According to Islamic teaching, jinn are spirits unseen to humans, but which inhabit the earth alongside us. They were supposedly created by Allah from smokeless flame, and they claim that every person has a jinni as his constant companion (which sounds somewhat similar to the belief in a guardian angel). Muslim scholars claim all jinn have free will, which means there are Muslim jinn, Christian jinn, Jewish jinn, and atheist jinn. Jinn are also believed to be shapeshifters, meaning that they are able to take on any physical form, including that of humans and animals.

Interestingly, some Islamic scholars claim that jinn were involved in soothsaying and psychic arts. They say that after eavesdropping on discussions taking place among angels, jinn would cause corruption on the earth using that information, also providing it to help psychics seem as if they were predicting the future.

In yet another antisemitic trope, there is even a claim amongst some Muslims that Jews have a special relationship with jinn and they know the proper magical procedure to exploit the jinn to their advantage. No doubt this belief led to Iranian cleric Hojatoleslam Mehdi Karami claiming that, “Given the Zionists’ history of controlling jinn, many of their missions are carried out through them.”

These comments from Iranian hardliners were not just reserved for Israel’s direct conflict with Iran, with some claiming a year ago that Israel had an advantage against Hamas and Hezbollah due to their manipulation of the jinn. However, not everybody is convinced, with many pointing out that the Iranian regime is simply looking for a convenient scapegoat to explain why they could not withstand the military might of the Israeli armed forces.

Bizarrely, the jinn aren’t just a convenient scapegoat for military failure, they are also frequently mentioned as the cause of moral failure in court cases in Muslim countries. In 2014, a Saudi news agency reported that a judge who allegedly confiscated large plots of empty government land using forged deeds claimed it was a jinn who made him carry out his illegal activities. Considering there is a widespread Islamic belief that jinn are able to possess humans, he claimed he was, in fact, possessed and did not know what he was doing. A similar defense was used in a 2020 British murder case wherein the defendant claimed he did not commit the crime but pointed to the real culprit being a 620-year-old jinni named Robert Smith Wood.

The Islamic view of jinn is evidently a way for Muslims to explain the entities that inhabit the unseen realm. Whenever we encounter matters we cannot explain, we must always turn to God’s Word. In this instance, we must affirm that the Bible does not refer to jinn at all. Although we may see similarities between the Islamic concept of jinn and the biblical description of demons, there are notable differences between the two, and therefore, we should be careful not to definitively connect the two. We must also reject claims from the Iranian regime that Jews use jinn to gain a battlefield advantage. Such claims are not only without any basis whatsoever, they are also clearly antisemitic in nature.

What the Iranian regime fails to understand are the biblical promises made to Israel. Although they may ascribe Israel’s strength and existence to the occult, in reality, we know that God has His hand on His people and is sovereignly directing the affairs of mankind with a view to fulfilling the promises of His Word.

One such promise is beautifully laid out in Jeremiah 32:37-42: “Behold, I will gather them out of all countries where I have driven them in My anger, in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back to this place [the land of Israel], and I will cause them to dwell safely. They shall be My people, and I will be their God; then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me. Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.” For thus says the Lᴏʀᴅ: ‘Just as I have brought all this great calamity on this people, so I will bring on them all the good that I have promised them.'”

To that we say, “Amen” and “Maranatha”!

When I heard that the IDF had just bombed the Ministry of Defense and the Presidential Palace in Damascus, I could hardly believe it. I thought that we would have at least a short period of relative stability in the Middle East, but perhaps I was wrong. In my opinion, Israel and the new government in Syria are now essentially in a state of war. According to Israeli authorities, the IDF has already conducted 160 airstrikes inside Syrian territory and they are fully prepared to conduct even more…

As of Wednesday afternoon, the IDF had undertaken 160 aerial attacks on Syrian regime forces in and around the vicinity of Sweida in southern Syria, where Israel says the regime’s forces are slaughtering Syrian Druze.

In addition, the IDF has attacked, and possibly destroyed, Syria’s Defense Ministry, and also attacked part of the Presidential Palace in Damascus. Dozens or more Syrian regime forces are said to have been killed in IDF attacks.

IDF sources said that the military is ready for a multi-day campaign to convince Syrian regime forces to withdraw from Sweida and leave the Syrian Druze their autonomy.

I don’t know why this isn’t getting a lot more attention from major news outlets in the United States.

The airstrikes that hit the Ministry of Defense and the Presidential Palace in Damascus were extremely dramatic, and it is being reported that they sparked “panic in the streets”…

“The heavy blows have started” Israel’s defense minister Israel Katz has posted to X above a video (below) showing a Syrian news presenter abruptly taking shelter after a massive explosion in central Damascus.

The rare daytime aerial attack by Israel in the heart of Damascus created panic in the streets, and quickly after huge columns of smoke lingered over the downtown area. There are casualties, with state news agency SANA quoting the Health Ministry as saying that at least three were killed and nine people wounded in the Israeli attacks.

If you have not seen footage of the airstrikes in Damascus yet, I would highly recommend checking it out.

There are reports that prominent mosques in Syria are already calling for jihad against Israel.

If all-out war erupts, the IDF will not hold back.

Could this be the beginning of the end for Damascus?

The reason why Israel is intervening is because Druze residents of Sweida are reportedly being slaughtered…

The violence began with recent clashes between local Druze and Bedouin populations around the town of Sweida in southern Syria. Community leaders, activists and Israel’s military said the violence worsened after government forces intervened.

On Wednesday, Druze residents of Sweida reached by phone described scenes of executions, house burnings and looting. Several thousand residents fled toward the Jordanian border to escape the violence, while thousands more fled into the countryside.

There is a large Druze population in northern Israel, and many of them started pouring across the border to protect the Druze that were under assault in Sweida.

But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is urging them to stay home and let the IDF take care of things…

“My brothers, Druze citizens of Israel, the situation in Suwayda, the situation in southwestern Syria, is very serious.

The IDF is operating, the Air Force is operating, other forces are operating. We are working to save our Druze brothers and to eliminate the regime’s gangs.

And now I have one request of you: You are citizens of Israel. Do not cross the border.

You are putting your lives at risk; you could be killed, you could be kidnapped, and you are hindering the IDF’s efforts. Therefore, I ask you—return to your homes, let the IDF operate.”

At this point, Israeli officials are assuring us that there are absolutely no plans to send ground forces into the affected areas, but there are military units that are now being sent toward the northern border…

To deal with the ongoing crisis, including border issues, the IDF is transferring parts of the 35th Brigade from Gaza to the North and may also transfer the 98th Division northward if necessary.

Other reservists could also be called to the North, and there are multiple closed military zones on the Israeli-Syrian border.

Turkey expended a tremendous amount of effort to overthrow the Assad regime, and they are very closely allied with the radicals that are now running Syria.

Needless to say, Turkey is not pleased with what is currently transpiring at all, and they have let the Israelis know about it…

Turkey has conveyed its views regarding Israel’s air strikes on Syria to Israeli authorities via its intelligence agency, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Wednesday, adding Ankara was also in close contact with regional powers and the U.S.

If Israeli ground forces eventually do start heading toward Damascus, could that potentially spark a direct conflict between Israel and Turkey?

That will be something to watch.

Meanwhile, Newsweek is reporting that the Iranians are “threatening to raise uranium enrichment to weapons-grade levels and exit the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty”…

Iran is threatening to raise uranium enrichment to weapons-grade levels and exit the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) if Western powers move forward with reimposing United Nations sanctions, according to Iranian state media. The warning follows mounting pressure from the United States and its European allies.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the foreign ministers of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom agreed in a phone call Monday to set an August deadline for a nuclear agreement, Axios reported.

If no deal is reached by then, the three European powers plan to trigger the UN “snapback” mechanism, which would automatically reinstate global sanctions on Iran’s arms trade, banking sector, and nuclear program.

If the Iranians really do enrich uranium to weapons-grade levels, I guarantee you they will get bombed again.

In anticipation of that, the Iranians have been feverishly rebuilding their air defenses, and they still have lots of ballistic missiles that they can throw at Israel…

Israel has estimated that even after its strikes, Iran likely still possesses some 1,500 medium-range ballistic missiles and 50% of its launching capabilities, reported Bill Roggio, senior fellow and editor of Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ (FDD) “Long War Journal.”

Similarly, Iranian expert Behnam Ben Taleblu told Fox News Digital that “Post strikes, the program still exists and, despite being handicapped, poses a significant regional threat.”

It appears that the war in the Middle East is far from over.

In fact, I think that we could see some huge surprises in the months ahead.

We really are living during a time of “wars and rumors of wars”, but a lot of people out there still don’t seem to understand this.

Matthew 24:11 “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.”

The Bible foretold of those who would arise in these last days, savage wolves and evil charlatans, who would come from within the true church. We have been forewarned, but so few are listening or discerning, which is heartbreaking, but the truth.

What did Jesus teach His church regarding spiritual deception, especially in the last days?

Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”

Mark 13:22-23 “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.”

How to identify a false prophet according to the scriptures?

Deuteronomy 18:21-22 “And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’—when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.”

Jeremiah 14:13-14 “Then I said, ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, the prophets say to them, “You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.” And the Lord said to me, ‘The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart.’”

What should the true believers do when false prophets proclaim their own vision, which is contrary to true revelation?

Jeremiah 23:16 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; They speak a vision of their own heart, Not from the mouth of the Lord.’”

We should be wise, like the Bereans, examining the teaching of anyone who claims to be speaking for the Lord.

Acts 17:11 “These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.”

We need to remember that the ultimate false teacher/prophet is Satan himself!

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”

We need to be ever discerning regarding the crafty but false teaching of men.

Colossians 2:8-10 “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.”

We have been forewarned by the Lord that false teachers would bring forth wicked deception in the last days generation.

1 Timothy 4:1-3 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.”

False teachers are identified by their ruinous heresies that many fall prey to, as well as their deceitful greed.

2 Peter 2:1-3 “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.”

We are commanded not to believe in naivety but to test the teachings of those who claim to be prophets.

1 John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”

As the Bible foretold, many would come in the last days proclaiming “another Jesus” (2 Cor. 11:4) other than our historical Savior and Lord.

2 John 9 “Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.”

The true remnant church of Jesus Christ will not put up with false, evil teachers as their shepherd.

Revelation 2:2-3 “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary.”

The Red Heifer and The Temple: The Prophetic Clock Is Ticking

Something remarkable--and deeply prophetic--just happened in Israel. In a quiet but symbolically thunderous event, a heifer was burned in Israel in accordance with biblical instructions found in Numbers 19.

It wasn't a red heifer--the rare, perfect animal required for temple purification--but it was a full-scale rehearsal. And in the eyes of many devout Jews and watchful Christians, it signals something far greater than the ritual itself: the accelerating movement toward rebuilding the Third Temple.

For centuries, the Jewish Temple Mount has been a symbol of hope, identity, and unresolved yearning. But recent developments, both religious and geopolitical, are quickly transforming that longing into tangible preparation. While secular media may miss the significance, those familiar with Scripture--both Old and New Testaments--are sounding the alarm.

A Practice With Prophetic Weight

The burning of the heifer may seem like a mere religious curiosity, but it is the gateway to reestablishing temple service. According to biblical law, the ashes of a red heifer are the only means by which someone ritually defiled by contact with the dead can be purified. Since all Jews are presumed to be in such a state today, the restoration of temple sacrifice is impossible without the red heifer ashes.

In other words, no ashes--no temple.

This is why, in 2022, five red heifers were brought to Israel from Texas under the supervision of the Temple Institute and other organizations committed to temple readiness. The recent burning--using a different animal--was a dress rehearsal: proof that Israel is not just dreaming of temple worship but actively preparing for it.

This is a seismic shift.

A Religious Awakening After October 7

The October 7 massacre by Hamas was not only a military and political shock--it ignited a spiritual reckoning across Israel. Many secular Jews, disillusioned by their inability to rely on the IDF or political leaders for safety, have turned their eyes toward heaven. Synagogues have filled, Torah study has increased, and growing numbers of young Israelis are returning to observant Jewish practices.

But there is more. The desire for a restored Temple is no longer the fringe of a few faithful. It is becoming mainstream and even gaining political support.

The Israeli government has shown increased openness to discussions once thought too politically volatile--such as Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount. Laws protecting religious expression are slowly shifting. Organizations like the Temple Institute and the Sanhedrin are gaining credibility and support. Priesthood registries have been created, temple utensils replicated, and garments tailored.

Even the training of Levitical priests has already begun.

All of this is stirring within a people once scattered and secular, now stirred by suffering and drawn toward their ancient identity.

Why Christians Are Watching

For Christians who take Bible prophecy seriously, this is not just interesting news--it's earthshaking. The Scriptures teach that a Third Temple will exist in the last days. Jesus Himself, in Matthew 24:15, refers to "the abomination of desolation" spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place. Paul, in 2 Thessalonians 2:4, speaks of the Antichrist exalting himself "so that he sits as God in the temple of God."

But for those things to occur, there must be a temple.

This is where prophecy and preparation collide. The burning of a heifer, the rising religiosity of Israelis, the political conversation around the Temple Mount--these are not isolated events. They are the early tremors of a coming quake.

Many Christians believe the Third Temple will be rebuilt before or during the early days of the Tribulation period. It will, at first, be a symbol of national pride and religious awakening. But it will soon be desecrated by the Antichrist--ushering in a time of global chaos, judgment, and ultimately, the return of Christ.

While Christians and Jews often share deep respect, a love for Scripture, and a strong alliance--especially in the face of rising global hostility--it's important to note that the Christian understanding of the temple's prophetic role is not shared by most in the Jewish community.

In fact most Jews find this interpretation troubling or even offensive, as it reframes their sacred traditions through a different theological lens. Yet this divergence serves to highlight the profound mystery and complexity of God's unfolding plan, seen differently through the eyes of each covenant.

A Warning and a Wake-Up

The Temple Mount is stirring. The people are awakening. And the world, once again, is watching Israel.

Whether one is Jew or Gentile, believer or skeptic, the message is the same: God's prophetic timeline is not on pause. It's accelerating. What once seemed distant is becoming visible. The sacrifices of the ancient world are no longer just history--they're part of the future.

The Third Temple will rise. And when it does, it will stand not only as a monument of Jewish heritage, but as a countdown clock to the return of the King.

The Grace Schara trial has concluded, and the verdict should send a chill through every family that trusts hospitals to do the right thing. A jury in Wisconsin sided with Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital after just 15 minutes of deliberation, despite a three-week trial, overwhelming testimony from Grace’s family, and evidence that a 19-year-old girl with Down syndrome died after being administered a deadly drug combination—without informed consent. Her family says they never agreed to a Do-Not-Resuscitate (DNR) order. No signature. No bracelet. No witness. Yet the hospital’s defense claimed that by simply being admitted, Grace gave “implied consent.” This is COVID-era medical tyranny, a sordid tale of greed and power.

Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital argued that a doctor can unilaterally place a DNR on a patient—and that informing the family isn’t even required. Let that sink in. The jury bought it. This should be a chilling warning sign for everyone who might step foot in a modern hospital. When powerful hospital networks, especially well-funded mini-monopoly hospitals, make a mistake, they will not admit it. Instead, they hide behind “accepted medical practices,” throw up walls of legal jargon, and bring in high-paid experts to rationalize it all. The truth becomes a casualty of litigation theater. But behind the courtroom curtain lies something even more troubling: money. In November 2021, The Daily Jot revealed how hospitals were incentivized to follow federal COVID protocols—not necessarily to heal, but to comply. And receive a huge bounty on life.

Under the CARES Act and guidance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), hospitals were financially rewarded for testing, admitting, drugging, ventilating, and ultimately documenting COVID-related deaths. The average hospital could pocket up to $100,000 per patient from COVID admission to grave if they followed the government script. That included the use of remdesivir, a drug with a high rate of adverse reactions and organ damage. Hospitals stopped being places of healing and started functioning like bounty hunters. You check in, and someone else starts calling the shots—often without your knowledge or consent. Grace’s tragic death wasn’t an isolated accident. It was the predictable outcome of a system where obedience to policy replaced individual care, and profit often came before people.

So what can we do? If you must go into the hospital, bring a strong advocate. Someone who will monitor every dose, ask hard questions, and demand written proof of what’s being done. Assume nothing. Trust no protocol blindly. This system is not designed with you in mind—it’s designed for profitability and to protect itself. There must be accountability and serious reform. We cannot allow hospitals and government agencies to play God with our lives. John 10:10 reminds us: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Grace wanted to live. Her family tried to protect her. The system failed them. Her life and her family’s efforts to expose this gatekeeper of death is a reminder to make sure it doesn’t happen to you or your loved ones.

One thing many believers and nonbelievers have in common is that both are very uptight about evangelism. Believers are uptight about evangelizing, and nonbelievers are uptight about being evangelized.

Maybe you remember someone sharing the gospel with you when you really didn’t want to hear it. Or maybe you know what it’s like to share with someone who had no interest in what you were saying. If you’re new to the Christian faith, you may have recent memories of both scenarios.

As intimidating or uncomfortable as sharing your faith may be, it’s something every believer has been called to do. The apostle Paul wrote in Romans 10:14, “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?” (NLT). There’s no arguing with his logic.

Jesus left marching orders for everyone who follows Him: “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone” (Mark 16:15 NLT). In the original language, this verse could be translated to say, “I command you to go into all the world.” That’s why we call it the Great Commission and not the Great Suggestion. It’s an order from our Commander-in-Chief. If we’re faithful followers of Jesus, then we need to make the attempt. We need to do what we can to share His message.

The when, where, and how are up to us (to a certain extent). Evangelism strategies are like fingerprints and snowflakes. No two are exactly alike. That’s because no two experiences with Jesus are exactly alike. In John 9, Jesus healed a man who had been born blind. When the Jewish religious leaders interrogated the man, hoping to get him to change his story, he said, “I know this: I was blind, and now I can see” (verse 25 NLT). That’s what evangelism is: telling others what we know about Jesus, what He’s done for us. It’s the logical next step after receiving Christ: telling others how to do it, too.

When you start to tell others about Christ, you’ll discover something amazing: For every lock, there is a key. Your story, your experience, your specific approach to sharing the gospel may succeed where others have failed. You may be able to reach people whom others cannot.

That’s why God wants to work through you. He wants to use your unique experience to reach others for Him. Will you be open to His guidance and direction? Will you be available? The opportunities are plentiful. But it’s up to you to seize them.
