Most serious students of Bible prophecy—at least those who study from the pre-Trib perspective—agree that the most prominent indicator of where we are on God’s prophetic timeline is God’s chosen nation, Israel.

Again, the prophet Zechariah gives a clue to this being the case:

The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. (Zechariah 12:1–3)

Here, God’s Word, through the prophet, states that ultimately God Himself will bring all nations to account by presenting Israel as an offense that will bring their wrath against His chosen nation.

This hatred for Israel–for the Jew—will be manifest in the eyes of all God’s creation as time moves forward. The nations, infected with the sin-spawned reprobate mindset inflicted by the father of lies, Satan, will seek to destroy God’s chosen nation and people.

Jesus spoke to this prophecy while on the Mount of Olives answering His disciple’s question: “What will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” (Matthew 24:3).

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. (Matthew 24:9–10)

I believe that while Israel and the Jews have been hated and persecuted through the eons of time, the above prophecies speak specifically to the conditions when Christ’s return is nearing.

I have wondered why the Lord said: “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.”

While the reason He said this might be different than I imagine, I’ve concluded that it might have at least something to do with what we see now in the United States of America.

Why do most Jews in the big blue cities seem to join with the leftist, radical Muslim rants against Israel and even the Jews as a race? This is a mind-bender—or maybe a Spirit-bender matter. Israel-hating ideological evil infects even the Jewish people themselves. So much so that they will come against, or betray, their own race just to join the madness that seeks to wipe Israel off the map of the world.

This reflects Jesus’ words about the time when everything moves toward the era of Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30: 7)–a period Jesus said will be the worst in all of human history (Matthew 24:21).

It appears, according to hourly news, that the world today is well into that powerful movement towards the fulfillment of Christ’s prophecy that Israel and the Jews would face great persecution—even greater than that of Hitler’s Holocaust. Here are some examples of the build-up toward that time of Jacob’s trouble.

Richard K. Lyons, who assumed the chancellorship in July 2024, issued the unmitigated praise while being questioned by members of the House of Representatives Committee on Education and the Workforce, which summoned him and the chief administrators of two other major universities to interrogate their handling of the campus anti-Semitism crisis.

Ontario teacher called six-year-old student “half-human” for having a Jewish parent

An Ontario teacher referred to a six-year-old student as “half-human” for having a Jewish parent. This is only one incident among many that are happening in Ontario, home to 30,000 Jewish children.

“Kill all Jews”—Beloved children’s character goes off script, calls for genocide of Jews

On Sunday, the official X account of Elmo, a Muppet character from the television show Sesame Street, was hacked and used to post anti-Jewish, anti-Trump, and Jeffrey Epstein-related posts. “Kill all Jews,” one post read. “Elmo says ALL JEWS SHOULD DIE. F*** Jews,” read another.

An Israeli nuclear strike on Yemen won’t stop us: Houthi official

A senior Houthi official confirmed that the Yemen-based terror group will continue attacking Israel even after the fighting in Gaza ends, pledging that it is fully committed to destroying the Jewish state.

Iran targeting UK Jews for abduction, assassination, intel panel reports

A July 10 report by the British parliamentary committee that oversees the United Kingdom’s intelligence agencies, including Mi5 and Mi6, revealed that Iran is targeting British Jews for killing and kidnapping in the U.K. Intelligence agencies told the Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament that physical threats by Iranian Intelligence Services (IIS) against U.K.-based individuals has “significantly increased recently both in pace and with regard to the number of threats.”

These headlines were posted on Rapture Ready News July 14 through July 16 of this year. Many more such anti-Israel, anti-Semitic news items flow across my attention daily, as I’m sure they come before your eyes constantly.

The evidence that we are nearing the time of the Tribulation era shouldn’t be missed by those who look up in anticipation of the “Blessed Hope.” Israel is at the heart of the signals the Lord Jesus Christ gave us to observe. That evidence couldn’t be more blatant.

Here’s what Jesus told us to do as we observe the end times:

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for our redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:28)

Back in 2014, I remember thinking about Emily Letts, who briefly achieved notoriety by filming her own abortion. Throughout the gruesome procedure, she smiled tentatively, attempting to put a positive spin on what I saw as infanticide. Though I couldn't bring myself to watch the entire video, I was struck by how broken we, as a society, had become. It seemed to me that it must grieve God to witness the terrible things we inflict upon ourselves and each other. Of course, Emily was just one example among many, but for me, her actions highlighted the depths of depravity some people would plumb for a fleeting moment in the spotlight.

Watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier around that time frame, I found its themes surprisingly relevant to life in the early 2010s. The American government's willingness to trade freedom for security resonated eerily with the NSA bugging scandal, internet monitoring and censorship, and the mass data collection that was becoming increasingly prevalent. In the movie, the superhero, of course, prevailed. But the failing of that movie, and all superhero movies, is the erroneous idea that evil comes in the form of giant monsters or villainous villains. The reality is that evil often comes cloaked in the guise of tolerance, and often moves at the speed of rust.

It's a slow rot, an infecting agent that spreads from one organism to another. Just as Adam, in his defiance, did not die the day he sinned but began the process of dying from the moment he consumed the forbidden fruit, so too it is with the death of this sin-stained world. This process is mirrored in the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which states:

The entropy of an isolated system never decreases, because isolated systems always evolve toward thermodynamic equilibrium, a state with maximum entropy.

Over time, everything breaks down. This principle seems even more relevant today, as we witness further decay in societal values and moral foundations.

In movies, if some alien force threatened to kill 50 million people, the X-Men or the Avengers would assemble to combat the foe. But when we allow 50 million babies to be aborted in the womb, well, that's just the way things are. We can’t do anything about that because some judges back in 1973 made it legal. Even though the acceptance of this supposed 'eventuality' bothers us at our core, we just accept it as a fact of life. In make-believe, the good guys win and the bad guys lose, but in reality, good is compromised and evil is ever pervasive.

People seek refuge in movies as an escape from the routine wickedness that our earthly existence has become. The constant grinding down of this world's system on Christians is particularly taxing. It doesn't bother the unregenerate because they are spiritually dead and, aside from the clearly wrong things (to them, that is) like murder (of the born), violence, corruption, and theft, their discern-o-meter doesn't send up any red flags when a Planned Parenthood abortion mill sets up in a neighborhood. It has to be something overtly unfathomable for them to wake up and see the wrong in what's transpiring.

The Kermit Gosnell trial, for example, barely registered in the news cycle. If it weren't for a handful of journalists reporting on it, the world at large would have remained ignorant. Only because the discoveries were so ghastly and revolting did anyone take notice. I still guarantee that there are plenty more 'Kermit Gosnells' out there in the world.

Today, people seem even more deadened to the oppressive, Babylonian nature of the world. They know deep down that things aren't right, but they can't quite articulate what's wrong... so they escape. This "escapism" manifests as sentient beings retreating into fantasy through drugs, alcohol, books, or shows. We seek temporary refuge from the realities of everyday life: bills, taxes, problems, defeats, and inevitability.

And now, in 2025, this escapism has taken even stranger forms. The rise of internet influencers, showcasing curated and often unrealistic lifestyles, provides another avenue of escape for the masses. The parade of filtered images and manufactured narratives further distorts reality, leaving many feeling inadequate and disconnected from their own lives.

Furthermore, societal trends have taken darker turns. Consider the growing number of young, healthy Canadians and Europeans seeking euthanasia, not because they are terminally ill, but because they feel overwhelmed by the pressures and anxieties of modern life. This reflects a profound sense of hopelessness and a disturbing devaluation of human life.

Was this God's design? I don't think so.

Satan has sold everyone on the lie that life will continue as it always has, routinely and predictably. The "normalcy bias" suggests that the way life is today is how it should be. There is no heaven, no hell, so you must seize life by the horns and extract all possible enjoyment from today. Many people fall for this, pursuing worldly lusts only to find them vapid and unfulfilling, leading to disappointment and restlessness. Satan keeps man constantly chasing after the ghost of a good thing, in hopes that they will finally reach their pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. But it rarely comes…and even if it did, the pot of gold is a letdown.

Man is unique in that we are the only creatures created that have a "God-Shaped" hole in our beings. The only person who can fill that is God and nothing else will satisfy that deep desire we have. Drugs and power can’t fill it, religion can’t persuade it, sex and money can satiate it, and things (clothes, jewelry, cars, houses) could never be big enough or fulfilling enough to fill that empty space in our hearts. Nothing can capture the longing and satisfaction that only a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ can bring…because nothing else fits. Like inserting the proverbial square peg into a round hole, it just doesn’t work.

What makes Christianity so unique? It is night and day different from every other belief structure out there because Christ says, “I will take you as you are no matter how broken you think you might be, and I will fix you and make you new.” Other religions, particularly cults, draw people in who are lonely or seeking, not through truth, but through friendship and in the form of identity…identifying with a group and feeling like you finally belong. And when they finally get their hooks in these lonely people, and then they bring out their crazy, ritualistic, works-based method of whatever they deem salvation is. Do this, don’t do that, wear this, don’t wear that, give up your money, time, friends, family, etc., etc.

People are so desperate to find meaning in their lives in the here and now, they are willing to do just about anything to either fit in or escape from the burden they currently carry around. That burden is loneliness, which is brought on by the loss of identity and sense of purpose, which comes from being separated from the One who created them. It is indeed, a heavy cross to bear. Christ said, ‘come to Me all ye that are weary and heavy laden, take my yoke for it is light.’ In identifying with Christ, we have finally, for the first time in our lives, the ability to identify with Someone who will never leave us nor forsake us. We aren’t just followers, or disciples, or even servants, but we become family.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. Romans 8:14-17

Assessment

I still think that part of the reason that so many out there in Christendom struggle with the concept of a Pre-Tribulation Rapture is that it seems too fantastical to fit into today’s mundane existence. It seems too good to be true, and we as human beings have been let down so many times throughout our lives, that it’s easier to believe it’s not real than to believe that it is. We don’t think we are good enough, or that we deserve that level of deliverance, but rather, we should suffer first and ‘purge’ our sins.

But there it is in scripture clear as day. Still, many go out of their way to do the mental gymnastics of making it more complex and more unattainable than it really is.

The “blessed hope” to me is not about escaping this broken world in the nick of time (although that’s admittedly an added blessing), but it is about finally being in a reality where all things are made right. And that reality can only exist for us when we are finally freed from sin. And our freedom from sin can only be by one Person, the man Christ Jesus. When Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me”…He meant it. Not simply because He wanted to be exclusive and shut people out, but because His blood was the only thing in the entire universe that could forever wash man’s sinfulness away.

And although as Christians we are forgiven and we have our sin-debt paid in full, we still struggle in the flesh because we have to live in them either until death greets us, or Jesus meets us in the air. The flesh will war against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh, and thus is our struggle from birth to death. I mean, even the Apostle Paul was on the struggle bus (Rom 7 anyone?). But when Jesus comes, we will be transformed by His might, to fulfill the purpose for which we were destined to become even before He spoke the universe into existence.

So friend, if you’re struggling today to find peace in your life, and joy in this fallen world, consider this:

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Just six months ago, there was so much optimism that we were going to have peace with Russia. It was never going to be easy, but at least President Trump was willing to talk to the Russians to see if an agreement would be possible. Unfortunately, Trump is now telling us that he is “not so interested in talking anymore”, and instead he is making threats. As I have warned repeatedly, threatening the Russians will backfire severely. Someone that is close to Trump needs to explain to him that this approach is only going to make things worse.

On July 14th, Trump gave the Russians 50 days to agree to a ceasefire deal that will be acceptable to western countries.

The Russians responded by calling that threat unacceptable, and now President Trump is giving the Russians only “10 or 12 days” to end the war…

President Donald Trump said he’s moving up a deadline for Russia to agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine, warning that it in “10 or 12 days” Russia must end the war or face sanctions and tariffs from the United States.

The president’s threat came as he continued to express frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin for refusing to scale back his country’s war in Ukraine.

“I’m going to make a new deadline of about ten or twelve days from today,” Trump said on July 28 during a meeting in Scotland with United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer. “There’s no reason in waiting.”

The original deadline fell on September 2nd.

This new deadline will fall some time in early August.

Needless to say, the Russians are not going to throw up their hands and give in to Trump’s demands.

So what will Trump do?

Back on July 14th, Trump threatened to slap 100 percent tariffs on everyone that does business with Russia…

“We’re very, very unhappy with them, and we’re going to be doing very severe tariffs, if you don’t have a deal in 50 days, tariffs at about 100 percent, they call them secondary tariffs,” The President said July 14.

Nobody does more business with Russia than China.

Would Trump really slap 100 percent tariffs on China?

Let’s hope not, because threats of this nature will not work with the Chinese either.

This is so frustrating, because a deal with Russia was certainly possible, but it was always going to take a tremendous amount of diplomatic finesse.

The Russians have clearly stated what they want to end the war, and they are still willing to talk.

But President Trump has lost patience with the Russians and is not interested in going back and forth with them any longer…

“I’m not so interested in talking anymore,” Trump told reporters while sitting next to British Prime Minister Kier Starmer after he said Moscow and Washington “might make a deal” ahead of the secondary sanctions set to be implemented now in less than two weeks.

“He talks – we have such nice conversations, such respectful and nice conversation. And then, people die the following night,” Trump added on Monday.

I am not going to sugarcoat this for you.

This is really bad news for everybody.

Once news of Trump’s threat broke, the Russian stock market immediately started tanking…

Russian stocks fell Monday after U.S. President Donald Trump said he would shorten the 50-day deadline he previously gave Russia’s Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine to just 10-12 days.

The Moscow Exchange (MOEX) Index dropped 1.8% in just over an hour, shedding $1.4 billion in market value as traders reacted to Trump’s shortened ceasefire deadline.

The index slipped from 2,777.3 to 2,727.2 points between 2:55 p.m. and 4:08 p.m. local time.

Here in the United States, most people don’t seem to understand how serious things have become.

U.S. weapons are flooding into Ukraine once again, and now we are about to slap extremely harsh sanctions on both Russia and China. Instead of talking, we are escalating a war against the one nation on Earth that could completely destroy us.

As Leo Hohmann has aptly pointed out, a conflict with a superpower that possesses a vast arsenal of nuclear weapons should not be taken lightly…

Trump had better wake up and realize who he is dealing with. Russia isn’t Iraq. It isn’t Iran. It isn’t Libya. It isn’t Syria. It isn’t Afghanistan.

Russia is a nuclear-armed superpower with hypersonic missiles that can strike deep inside Europe within minutes. Russia has demonstrated in its war with Ukraine that it can hit targets with pinpoint accuracy with the super-fast, super maneuverable hypersonics.

Dictating to Russia how it must deal with what it sees as a Western-armed, hostile foreign power operating on its border will not be tolerated in Moscow, and it could blow up in Trump’s face if he isn’t careful. Both his rhetoric and his actions are looking more and more like those of his predecessor, Joe Biden.

Every time we escalate the conflict in Ukraine, we get even closer to nuclear war.

If the Russians come to the conclusion that nuclear war has become inevitable, they will strike first, because they understand that whoever strikes first has the best chance of surviving a nuclear war.

Today, the Russians possess the most advanced intercontinental ballistic missiles on the entire planet.

A single Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile can carry enough nuclear warheads to wipe out “an area the size of Texas”…

The RS-28 Sarmat will reportedly carry a nuclear payload large enough to wipe out an area the size of Texas or France.

Putin said the missile “has practically no range restrictions,” though The Guardian cited state media reports detailing a range of around 6,800 miles. Regardless, the president claimed it can evade “even the most advanced missile defense systems,” such as those fielded by the U.S.

Traveling at Mach 10—around 16,000 m.p.h.—the RS-28 Sarmat can carry 10 to 15 warheads, all of which can target a different location. Putin’s announcement of the weapon was accompanied by an unsettling CGI video demonstrating its capabilities, in which nuclear warheads were shown falling on a region closely resembling the Tampa Bay area of Florida.

We have no way to intercept Russian ICBMs.

So once they press the button, our society will be brought to an end.

Meanwhile, while we have been sleeping the Russians have developed the most advanced anti-missile systems on the entire planet.

We would be relying on Minuteman ICBMs that first went into service in the 1970s to get through Russia’s extremely sophisticated anti-missile systems, and that is a matchup that does not favor us at all.

The balance of power has shifted dramatically, and most people living in the western world have no idea.

So let us hope that Trump reverses course and decides to start talking to the Russians again, because if we end up fighting an apocalyptic war with Russia it will not go well for us.

Jacob Thompson at The Winepress notes that, unlike Amazon’s Alexa, which is designed to listen only after you give it a command, or “wake word,” Bee’s bracelets are always on, always listening, and continuously gathering user data to train its AI models.

Bee CEO Maria de Lourdes Zollo said she was “excited” to be joining Amazon and to bring “truly personal, agentic AI to even more customers.”

“When we started Bee, we imagined a world where AI is truly personal, where your life is understood and enhanced by technology that learns with you,” she wrote on LinkedIn.

This is just one of many wearables about to saturate the market. The younger generations, and some older folks, will likely snap these devices up without a thought as to how they will affect their privacy.

Meta is pushing its Ray-Ban AI glasses and Google has launched Gemini-powered earbuds.

This is part of the globalist plan to replace humans with transhumans, or “Humanity 2.0,” as they like to call it. Wearables are seen as the next step to bring technology into closer integration with the human body, creating an “internet of bodies” similar to the already populated “internet of things.” We’ve gone from cellphones to watches to now all sorts of gradually more invasive technology. Where will it end? Likely with a chip injected just below the skin.

Remember, World Economic Forum advisor and Israeli historian Yuval Harari predicted nearly four years ago that the globalist plan is to have 24/7 surveillance “under the skin” of all people. The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, chaired by Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), released a damning final report exposing severe failures by the US Secret Service during the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. The 54-page document outlines repeated denials of essential security requests such as counter-snipers and anti-drone technology. Despite early warnings—including a sighting of a man with a rangefinder 25 minutes before the shooting—communications broke down. Critical intelligence was not relayed, positioning the Secret Service as sluggish, disjointed, and unprepared.

Senator Paul blasted the agency for allowing the President to walk “into a death trap.” Six agents were suspended, but none were fired. Some were even promoted. Accountability appears to have taken a holiday. These facts, while unsettling, open the door to an unthinkable possibility—was it mere incompetence, or something darker? Some on the right now ask: Could members of the Biden administration, the Democratic Party, or rogue elements of the Secret Service have quietly looked the other way? While no public evidence supports such a theory, the breakdown in protection was so comprehensive that it fuels suspicion. In an age when both the judiciary and the intelligence community were weaponized to target a sitting President in 2016, such theories are not born in a vacuum.

Trust in federal institutions is at an all-time low, and the optics of political enemies benefiting from systemic failure fans the flames of doubt, if not outright conspiracy. This isn’t the first time such speculation has gained traction. In 2016, President Obama’s administration, through the FBI and Justice Department, used the unverified Steele dossier to spy on Donald Trump’s campaign. That operation was approved through FISA court warrants later found to be riddled with errors. No one was held criminally accountable. Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee funded the dossier. Similar suspicions still swirl around Lyndon B. Johnson and the assassination of John F. Kennedy, with documents still classified and questions unanswered.

In each case, government power intersected with political rivalry in ways that erode confidence in the rule of law. But suspicion is not proof. The Senate report blames poor leadership, not political sabotage. Still, when warnings are ignored, when agents go unpunished or promoted, when security is denied—questions linger. If the system failed this badly, who is to say it wasn’t exploited? There’s a biblical warning in Galatians 6:7, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” America must sow accountability, truth, and vigilance—or reap suspicion, chaos, and division. The Secret Service owes this nation a hard reset, not another PR campaign. Lives—and trust—depend on it.

Daily Devotion: Strength in (Low) Numbers

Gideon was the person God chose to lead the Israelites against the Midianites. Gideon had a fairly large army of 32,000 soldiers. But it paled in comparison to the forces of the Midianites and their allies, who were so numerous that Judges 7:12 describes them as a “swarm of locusts” (NLT).

Even so, God told Gideon that his army was too big. God knew that if the Israelites defeated the Midianites, they would chalk it up to their superior military skills. And God wanted to leave no doubt as to who deserved credit for the victory. He told Gideon to call his men together and say, “Whoever is timid or afraid may leave this mountain and go home” (Judges 7:3 NLT). Gideon obeyed the Lord, and 22,000 of his soldiers said, “We’re out of here.”

That left 10,000, still too many. God thinned the ranks once more, this time based on the way the soldiers drank water from a stream. Gideon was left with 300 men. They routed the Midianites and their allies.

If you’re new to the Christian faith, or if you’ve recently recommitted yourself to the Lord, you’ll find an important takeaway in Gideon’s story. There will be times when you feel hopelessly outnumbered. Godlessness seems to surround us. Social media has made it easier for enemies of the Christian faith to mock, accuse, and humiliate believers.

I remember how my life changed when I became a follower of Jesus Christ. I was harassed and mocked by friends whom I had known for many years. I recognized immediately that if I followed Christ, I would lose some so-called friends, and it would not always be easy.

You may experience similar reactions from family members, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances. Your job is to stay faithful through it all. To study and apply God’s truths in Scripture. To live in a way that honors Christ. To resist temptation. To confess and turn from your sin. To communicate continuously with the Lord in prayer. To worship Him. And to tell others about Him.

If you prioritize those things and commit yourself to spiritual battle, you won’t have to worry about the size of the opposition. God will take care of the numbers.

On the night Jesus was arrested, He warned His disciples that all of them would desert Him before the night was over. That came as a shock to Peter, who declared, “Even if everyone else deserts you, I will never desert you” (Matthew 26:33 NLT). That’s a warrior’s mentality.

In the short term, Peter was unable to back up his claim. A few hours later, he denied even knowing Jesus on three separate occasions. In the long term, however, Peter was a force to be reckoned with. After Jesus restored him to ministry, Peter helped establish the church and spread Christianity throughout the Roman Empire—all in the face of overwhelming opposition.

If you’re willing to echo Peter’s words and to endure in your faith no matter how overwhelming the opposition seems, you’re in for the greatest adventure imaginable in serving the Lord. God is looking for men and women to enlist in His army for His divine Delta Force.
