Prophecy Update: A Message from Heaven

The prophet Ezekiel received a message from heaven. He said, “The word of the Lord came unto me…” (Ezek. 38:1).

That’s why it is so accurate. When God says something will happen, it will happen.

Bible prophecy is more than a religious belief. History confirms its accuracy.

The Lord told Ezekiel to, “Set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him” (Ezek. 38:2).

The word “Gog” means “dictator.”

In my words, the Lord told Ezekiel to look at the dictator who rules over the land of Magog and prophesy against him.

This brings up a question: Where is the land of Magog?

According to the Bible, Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Japheth had seven sons, and one of Japheth’s seven sons was named Magog.

So, Magog was the son of Japheth and the grandson of Noah.

And the Land of Magog is the Land where Noah’s grandson Magog settled.

The Lord called it the land of Magog in Ezekiel’s day, but we call it Russia today, and guess what: Russia has a dictator today.

Let’s drop down to Ezek. 38:15 just a minute.

The Lord said to tell Russia’s dictator, “Thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts.”

The New King James Version reads, “You will come from your place out of the far north.”

In the Bible, north means north of Israel.

There are only four nations north of Israel: Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, and Russia. The nation in the far north of Israel is Russia. All other nations are ruled out.

Here is the message: “Behold I am against thee, O Gog” (Ezek. 38:3).

God is against Russia’s dictator for many reasons. But the main reason concerns Russia’s attitude toward Israel.

God promised to bless those that bless Israel and to curse those that curse Israel (Gen. 12:3).

Russia has set itself against Israel. So, Russia will soon come under God’s curse.

The Lord said to tell Russia’s dictator, “I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee” (Ezek. 38:4-6).

Those that have a hook in their jaw lose control to whoever controls the hook. They will go wherever the hook goes.

God rules over leaders and their nations. And when God takes control of Russia’s dictator, he is in big trouble.

But God’s message involves more than Russia. It involves many nations, most or all of which are Muslims.

Let’s notice when God intends to take control of Russia.

The Lord said, “After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them” (Ezek. 38:8).

The Lord added, “And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes” (Ezek. 38:16).

In my words, the Lord said, it will be a long time from now, but I will bring Russia down, and when it happens, history will be in the latter years and the latter days.

“The latter years” and “the latter days” are Bible terms that refer to the end of the age.

Orthodox Jews call it “The Days of Redemption” or “The Messianic Days.” They believe this refers to the days just preceding the Messiah’s Coming.

Christians believe this refers to the days just preceding the Second Coming of Jesus.

No one knows the day or the hour of our Lord’s return. But we can see the day approaching. We can know when it is near.

And when God brings down Russia, it will be the latter years and latter days.

More than twenty-six hundred years ago, God knew:

That Israel would go back to the Promised Land.
That Russia would have a dictator.
That Russia’s dictator would be against Israel.
That Russia’s dictator would be aligned with Iran, Turkey, etc.
That Russia’s dictator would think an evil thought.

Russia’s dictator wasn’t even born twenty-six hundred years ago, but God still knew what Russia’s dictator would think and do because God would control him.

This is just one reason why many good prophecy teachers believe history is closing in on the Rapture, Tribulation Period, and Second Coming.

One, concerning wars and rumors of wars and the Battle of Gog of Magog: on Aug. 28, 2025, France, Germany, and the UK announced that they are reimposing sanctions on Iran because Iran is still trying to produce nuclear weapons.

Marco Rubio, the U.S. Sec. of State, said the U.S. will work with its allies on the sanctions but is “available for direct engagement with Iran in furtherance of a peaceful, enduring resolution to the Iran nuclear issue.

Pres. Trump and Israel have said they will attack Iran again if Iran continues its quest for nuclear weapons.

(Note: France, Germany, and the UK have announced that they are reimposing sanctions on Iran, but the sanctions won’t go into effect for thirty days.)

Two, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on Aug. 29, 2025, Israel said Gaza City has become a full-fledged war zone.

(More: Israel recovered the bodies of two hostages. One has been identified, and an effort to identify the other is ongoing.)

(More: On Sept. 3, 2025, it was reported that Israeli troops have now circled Gaza City, and they will start advancing in the next two weeks.)

Three, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on Aug. 27, 2025, Israel’s Air Force assassinated the Houthi Prime Min. (and possibly his chief of staff and Defense Min.) while the Prime Min. was making a televised speech.

(Update: On Aug. 31, 2025, the Houthis acknowledged the death of their Prime Min. and eight other officials. The Houthis vowed to avenge the death of these leaders, and Israel is preparing for an attack.)

(Update: On Sept. 2, 2025, Israel’s Defense Min. said some Houthi leaders are fleeing the capital of Yemen.)

(Update: On Sept. 3, 2025, the Houthis fired a missile at Israel, but Israel shot it down.)

Four, concerning wars and rumors of wars (with possible implications for the destruction of Damascus and the Battle of Gog of Magog): on Aug. 26, 2025, Israeli forces raided a Syrian military base on the outskirts of Damascus.

Israeli officials said Israeli troops captured Turkish surveillance and eavesdropping devices that were being used to spy on Israel.

An Israeli airstrike on the base killed several Syrian soldiers.

Five, concerning the UN General Assembly meetings (on Sept. 22-23) that have been scheduled in New York City during the Feast of Trumpets to push through the Two-State Solution: on Aug. 29, 2025, the Trump administration revoked the visas of PA and PLO officials to prevent them from attending.

One U.S. State Dept. official said:

Before they can be taken seriously as partners for peace, the PA and PLO must repudiate terrorism, lawfare campaigns at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and International Court of Justice (ICJ), and the pursuit of unilateral recognition of statehood (pursuit of statehood without an agreement with Israel).

(My opinion: The PA and PLO are not going to repudiate terrorism and accept the existence of Israel. Furthermore, Israel is not going to agree to a terrorist Palestinian State having a capital in East Jerusalem and an air force and military in Gaza. So, many world leaders are going to try to force the Two-State Solution on Israel without forcing the PA and PLO to accept the existence of Israel. These world leaders will eventually come up with an agreement, but God will not accept it.)

(More: It was reported that leaders of several western nations – France, Canada, the UK, and more – were planning on showering PA leader Mahmoud Abbas with praise, but Trump outmaneuvered them by revoking the visas of PA and PLO officials.)

(Caution: Be careful about predictions that the Rapture will happen on the upcoming Feast of Trumpets and the Tribulation Period will begin immediately – as some are saying. I hope the Rapture is on the upcoming Feast of Trumpets – and it MAY be – but that is speculation, not a known fact. Also, the covenant that begins the Tribulation Period must be in existence before the Antichrist can confirm it, and it must be for seven years when he confirms it. Every jot and tittle must be fulfilled.)

(More Caution: I don’t know how many, if any, of the Ten Kings will rise before the Rapture, but all ten must be risen before the Antichrist gains control.)

Six, concerning world government: on Sept. 1, 2025, leaders of more than 20 non-Western nations (China, Russia, India, North Korea, Iran, etc.) met in China to discuss a new kind of global governance and ways to get around the West’s bullying behaviour.

The fact that these nations have met to discuss a new kind of global governance is a strong indication that the end of the age could be close.

What will come of this, or how soon it will happen, is debatable, but the Bible clearly teaches that there will be a New World Order (Ten Kings) before the Antichrist arrives.

Seven, concerning the expansion of Israel’s borders at the end of the age: on Sept. 1, 2025, Israel’s cabinet met to discuss the growing international pressure to recognize a Palestinian State.

According to the report, many Israeli officials are calling for the annexation of parts of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) to counter the international move.

It appears to this writer that the discussion was not so much about whether Israel should annex part of Judea and Samaria, but it was more about how much of Judea and Samaria Israel should annex.

Some Israeli officials want Israel to limit annexation to just part of the Jordan Valley. Other officials want Israel to annex about 60 percent of the territory Israel now controls.

The PA, PLO, Arabs, and world leaders won’t like this, but they started the problem.

(Reminder: In May 2025, Israel’s Foreign Min. said, “Unilateral moves against Israel will be met by unilateral moves by Israel.”)

(Update: The decision on annexing the Jordan Valley and large parts of Judea and Samaria was delayed until Sept. 4, 2025.)

(More: On Sept. 1, 2025, Israel started a school for kindergarten kids in the northern Judean community called Homesh. The Jews were forcefully removed from this community in 2005, but they are now being allowed to return.)

(More: On Sept. 1, 2025, it was reported that the Trump administration is still considering a proposal for the U.S. to take control of Gaza for ten years, to rebuild and transform it into a “Riviera of the Middle East.”)

(More: On Sept. 3, 2025, the United Arab Emirates – UAE – called upon the Trump administration to stop Israel from annexing any territory. They warned the U.S. that it would undermine the Abraham Accords if Israel did that.)

(Update: On Sept. 4, 2025, the decision on annexing the Jordan Valley and large parts of Judea and Samaria was cancelled due to the UAE warning that it would undermine the Abraham Accords.)

(My opinion: The only certain thing about where all of this is going to wind up is that Israel will have all of the land that God promised to Abraham and his descendants when the Millennium arrives.)

Eight, on Aug. 27, 2025, The Washington Times reported that the Trump administration has given an ultimatum to most of the U.S.: drop all gender ideology content in sex-education material or lose grant funds.

Nine, on Sept. 1, 2025, it was reported that another flotilla comprising about 50 ships with activists from 44 nations is headed to Israel.

Israel’s National Security Min. wants the Netanyahu government to designate the activists as terrorists, arrest them, jail them with terrorists, and confiscate their ships.

(Update: On Sept. 1, 2025, the flotilla turned back, and they said it was because of high winds. They inferred that they will sail again when the weather is better.)

Ten, concerning an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters at the end of the age: on Aug. 28, 2025, Pakistan reported that it was evacuating more than one million people because of torrential monsoon rains that flooded more than 1,400 villages.

(More: On Aug. 31, 2025, a 6.0 earthquake in Afghanistan killed at least 1,400 people, injured at least 2,500 people, and destroyed at least 5,400 homes (these numbers are expected to increase).

Eleven, concerning the Two-State Solution, on Aug. 26, 2025:

The foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which groups 57 Arab and Muslim countries, called for the adoption of all possible legal and effective measures to prosecute Israel and prevent it from continuing its crimes against the Palestinian people.
The 21st Extraordinary Session of the Council of OIC Foreign Ministers underlined the need for coordinated action to suspend Israel’s membership in the United Nations.

They want to prosecute Israel, kick Israel out of the UN, and create a Palestinian state.

(My question: Will God allow this and not do anything about it? I doubt it.)

Twelve, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on Sept. 2, 2025, the Trump administration said:

S. forces have fired at and blown up a small Venezuelan boat containing 11 drug smugglers and drugs.
Trump said this should serve as a warning to anyone thinking about smuggling drugs into the U.S.
Venezuela’s strongman warned that his nation will launch an armed struggle if attacked.
The U.S. State Dept. said the U.S. will take on the drug cartels wherever they are operating.

FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and He is the only way to get there; John 14:6).

Finally, are you Rapture Ready?

If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

The Road to Ezekiel 38: Turkey’s Dangerous Path Against Israel

In the swirl of Middle Eastern crises, the world has focused almost exclusively on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Hezbollah’s rockets, or Hamas’s terror tunnels. Yet a far greater danger to Israel is quietly taking shape, one that could redefine the balance of power in the entire region. That danger is Turkey—once a partner of Israel, now transformed into a bitter enemy under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

This shift is not a passing flare of anger over Gaza. It is part of a deliberate and sweeping strategy: Erdoğan’s quest to crown himself as the leader of the Muslim world and to restore the prestige of the Ottoman Empire. For Israel, this may prove the most dangerous challenge of all.

From Ally to Adversary

Not long ago, Israel and Turkey shared intelligence, military cooperation, and robust trade. They were bound together by pragmatism in a volatile neighborhood. But Erdoğan has methodically unraveled this partnership. In recent months, he has cut off economic ties, blocked Israeli planes and ships, and issued an unending stream of fiery rhetoric accusing Israel of crimes against humanity.

This is more than policy—it is ideology. Erdoğan has chosen to turn his back on Israel not for short-term gain but for long-term legacy. He is laying down the foundation for a new Middle Eastern order where Turkey sits at the head of the table, and Israel is cast as the enemy to unite the Muslim world.

The Neo-Ottoman Dream

At the heart of Erdoğan’s vision is neo-Ottomanism: the dream of reviving Turkey’s influence from the Balkans to the Middle East, from North Africa to Central Asia. For him, Gaza is not just a humanitarian cause—it is the stage on which he can proclaim himself the new champion of Islam.

He speaks not merely of supporting Palestinians but of building an “Army of Islam” capable of marching on Jerusalem. Such language, once dismissed as bluster, now takes on chilling weight when viewed alongside Turkey’s rapid military modernization and its growing web of influence stretching into Syria, Libya, Qatar, and beyond.

By turning Gaza into the rallying cry, Erdoğan seeks to do what no other Muslim leader has accomplished in decades: unite fractured Islamic states under one banner. That banner is pointed squarely against Israel.

Power Play in Syria

Perhaps the most dangerous element of Erdoğan’s strategy lies to Israel’s north. Turkey has entrenched itself in Syria, creating zones of influence just across Israel’s border. This puts Turkish forces—and the Islamist militias it backs—perilously close to Israel’s northern frontier.

For Israel, the nightmare scenario is clear: a multi-front war not only with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iranian proxies in Syria, but with Turkey itself—an established state with advanced weaponry, a massive army, and global alliances.

Military Might on the Rise

Unlike Hamas or Hezbollah, Turkey is no ragtag militant faction. It possesses the second-largest army in NATO, with over 450,000 active troops, state-of-the-art drones that have already reshaped battlefields from Nagorno-Karabakh to Ukraine, and a growing missile program. Its navy and air force rank among the strongest in the region, and its defense industry is expanding rapidly.

This combination of military power, strategic geography, and ideological fervor makes Turkey a unique threat. Iran may be Israel’s most immediate adversary, but Turkey’s long-term potential is greater: a modern state, a powerful army, and a leader bent on empire.

More Dangerous Than Iran?

For years, Israeli leaders and analysts have worried about Tehran’s nuclear clock. But what if the greater danger is Ankara’s ambition clock? Iran represents a sectarian Shi‘ite power; Turkey represents the possibility of a pan-Sunni revival.

Where Iran builds power through fear, Turkey builds it through influence—through trade, cultural ties, religious rhetoric, and the promise of Islamic unity. In many ways, this is the more potent formula. A leader who can unite diverse Muslim nations under the banner of Jerusalem’s “liberation” poses a threat that reaches far beyond rockets and centrifuges.

The Prophetic Dimension

For those who read history with the Bible in hand, the rise of Turkey as Israel’s adversary should not come as a surprise. Ezekiel 38 describes a vast northern coalition led by “Gog of the land of Magog” that will one day march against Israel. Among the nations listed are Meshech and Tubal—regions that many scholars trace back to modern-day Turkey.

This prophecy outlines not just a sudden attack, but a deliberate alignment of nations under a leader who seeks to destroy Israel in the latter days. We are told that this coalition will include Persia (modern Iran), Cush, Put (North Africa), and others—but Turkey may very well be the spearhead of the end-time invasion.

When we look at Erdoğan’s words and actions, the parallels are striking. His call for an “Army of Islam” echoes Ezekiel’s vision of a multi-national force united under one banner. His obsession with Jerusalem as the ultimate prize mirrors the prophetic detail that this coalition’s goal will be to plunder Israel and seize its holy city. His dream of reviving the Ottoman Empire fits perfectly with the idea of a revived northern power rising again in the last days.

A Storm on the Horizon

The West has been slow to recognize this transformation. Many still see Turkey as a NATO ally, a balancing force in a turbulent region. But the Bible points to something much darker: that in the final days, Turkey will abandon the West, abandon its democratic mask, and step into its prophetic role as Israel’s great adversary.

Consider Turkey’s military might today: the second-largest army in NATO, more than 450,000 active troops, advanced drones, modern missiles, and a rapidly growing defense industry. Add to this Erdoğan’s Islamist rhetoric, his cultivation of allies across the Muslim world, and his hostility toward Israel, and the prophetic pieces begin to lock into place.

Iran may be Israel’s immediate threat. Hezbollah may torment its northern border. But Ezekiel 38 tells us that when the climactic storm breaks, Turkey will not be a background player. It will be front and center, leading the charge against Jerusalem.

And yet, the prophecy gives us hope. Ezekiel also tells us that when this vast coalition comes against Israel, it will not be Israel’s strength that saves it—it will be the hand of God Himself. The Lord will intervene with earthquakes and fire, destroying the armies that come against His people. The purpose of this dramatic deliverance is clear: “Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

The storm clouds are gathering. The pieces are falling into place. And while Israel must remain vigilant, building its defenses and watching its borders, believers know that the final outcome has already been written. The God of Israel will not allow His people to be destroyed.

Turkey may roar like a lion, but in the end, it will be the roar of the Lion of Judah that silences the nations

A Blood Moon Rises As “Wars and Rumors of Wars” Intensify

Remember these days, because these are the days when global leaders could have reversed course before it was too late. 2025 has certainly been a year of war, and it appears that things are poised to go to an entirely new level in the months ahead. If we do not choose to step back from the brink, eventually we will be pushed over the edge. Sadly, we just continue to see escalation after escalation as we tumble toward the unthinkable.

Meanwhile, ominous signs continue to appear in the heavens.

On Sunday night, a “blood moon” eclipse will be visible in both the Middle East and Ukraine. In fact, it will be clearly visible over very large portions of Europe, Africa and Asia…

Stargazers, including in Israel, will have a chance to see a “Blood Moon” on Sunday night during a total lunar eclipse visible across Asia and swaths of Europe, Australia and Africa.

When the Sun, Earth and Moon line up, the shadow cast by the planet on its satellite makes the latter appear an eerie, deep red color that has astounded humans for millennia.

People in Asia, including India and China, will be best placed to see Sunday’s total eclipse, which will also be visible on the eastern edge of Africa as well as in western Australia.

I have written much about the unprecedented series of blood moons that we have been witnessing in recent years.

But most of the population still doesn’t seem to be getting the message.

We really are living at a time of “wars and rumors of wars”, and the fate of our society really is hanging in the balance.

Just days after sending a massive barrage of more than 500 drones into Ukraine, Russia just conducted “the largest aerial attack” of the war in Ukraine so far…

Russia attacked Ukraine with 810 drones and decoys – the largest aerial attack on the country since the war began, Ukraine’s Air Force said.

“Such killings now, when real diplomacy would have started long ago, are a deliberate crime and a prolongation of the war,” Zelenskyy said in a statement online. He called for sanctions and for strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses.

Up until now, the Russians have avoided attacking government buildings in Ukraine.

Unfortunately, that era of restraint is apparently over…

The government facility that appeared to be struck in the attack was the Cabinet of Ministers building. Russian forces have previously refrained from targeting government buildings in Ukraine’s capital.

The building is the home of Ukraine’s Cabinet, housing the offices of its ministers. Police blocked access to the building as fire trucks and ambulances arrived.

“For the first time, the government building was damaged by an enemy attack, including the roof and upper floors,” Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said in a statement. “We will restore the buildings, but lost lives cannot be returned.”

This attack deeply alarmed me, because this was definitely a major escalation.

We are being told that so much damage was done to the Cabinet of Ministers building that helicopters had to come in to drop water on the flames…

AFP has said that one of its correspondents witnessed flames engulfing the roof of the cabinet building, verified in emerging photos, with thick smoke rising above the center part of the capital. Several high-rise apartment buildings also were reportedly struck and suffered damage.

The same report noted that for the first time of the conflict, emergency crews are battling blazes at a central government complex, with helicopters seen overhead doing water-drop runs. This government area of the city is typically well-guarded by anti-air defenses, and it looks like the Russians overwhelmed these systems.

The Russians had to know that this attack would enrage western leaders.

And that is precisely what happened.

In fact, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is saying that it is time for the U.S. and Europe to “force Russia into an immediate ceasefire”…

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said efforts to appease Vladimir Putin are pointless.

“Russia’s attack on government buildings in Kyiv is yet another reminder that further delays in giving Putin a firm response and attempts to appease him are senseless,” Tusk wrote.

According to him, the United States and Europe must “jointly force Russia into an immediate ceasefire.” He emphasized: “We have all the tools we need.”

Exactly what did he mean by that?

Is he talking about hitting Russia with more sanctions, or is he suggesting that NATO should take direct military action?

Hopefully he is not talking about direct military action by NATO, because that would put us just one step away from nuclear war.

Vladimir Putin has once again warned that if western troops are deployed in Ukraine at any point they will be “legitimate targets” for the Russian military…

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday that any Western troops in Ukraine would be considered “legitimate targets for defeat,” a day after it was announced that dozens of Western countries have pledged to contribute to a potential peacekeeping force there if a ceasefire deal is agreed.

“This is one of the root causes (of the war): trying to involve Ukraine in NATO,” Putin said, speaking at an economic forum in Russia’s Far East on Friday. “So if any troops appear there, especially during the ongoing hostilities, we assume they will be legitimate targets for defeat.”

For now, I think that it is likely that we will see western leaders impose another round of sanctions on Russia.

On Sunday, President Trump told the press that he is ready to take action in that regard…

President Donald Trump signaled on Sunday that his administration is ready to move to the second phase of sanctions against Russia.

“Are you ready to move to the second phase of sanctions against Russia?” a reporter asked the president as he left the White House to head to the US Open in New York.

“Yeah, I am,” the president responded.

Of course imposing more sanctions will not help anything.

We have been imposing sanctions on Russia for more than three years and that has not caused the Russians to back down one bit.

What we really need is for the Ukrainians to accept that they have lost the war and to agree to a fair deal with the Russians.

But that is never going to happen.

The Ukrainians still appear to be convinced that they will ultimately be successful in dragging NATO into the conflict, and if that happens nothing will ever be the same again.

As the war in Ukraine escalates, so does the war in the Middle East.

The IDF has initiated an operation that is designed to take full control of Gaza City, and so far they have taken control of 40 percent of it…

Israel has 40% control of Gaza City as the Israel Defense Forces are now preparing to seize the entire area, an Israeli military spokesperson confirmed Thursday.

Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin told reporters at a news briefing that his forces had already secured large neighborhoods in its latest offensive.

Israel really does intend for this to be a final showdown with Hamas, and the IDF is not holding anything back.

In fact, for the second day in a row a high-rise tower in Gaza City has been completely leveled by airstrikes…

The Israeli military has destroyed a second major high-rise tower in Gaza City in as many days, after Benjamin Netanyahu’s forces warned people to flee south ahead of a planned offensive to capture the area.

Residents of Sousi Tower, a 15-storey building and well-known landmark, said they were given just 20 minutes to pack what they could and evacuate before warplanes reduced the tower to rubble.

Hamas is being so foolish.

There is no way that they can win this fight.

But they would rather see everything destroyed rather than surrender to Israel.

President Trump has been trying very hard to broker a deal, but so far Hamas does not seem to be inclined to accept what Trump is offering, and now time is running out.

In fact, Trump just posted his “last warning” to Hamas on Truth Social…

Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end! The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one! Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Meanwhile, Iranian forces have been placed on a heightened state of alert because apparently they believe that there is a very strong possibility that war with Israel could erupt again very soon…

Iranian officials have warned that their armed forces are on heightened alert and have prepared a significantly strengthened military posture, emphasizing that the likelihood of a conflict with Israel is very high.

Newsweek has reached out to the Israel Defense Force (IDF) for comment.

Why do I write about war so much?

There are some people that feel that I am being too “negative” by focusing on the horrifying death and destruction that we have been witnessing.

But that is not the case at all.

I am actually trying to save lives.

We live in a world that is absolutely teeming with nuclear weapons, and if they are actually used billions of people could die.

People that you know could die.

People that you love could die.

Over the past year, global events have taken us closer to nuclear war than we have ever been before.

Our window of opportunity to avoid the unthinkable is steadily closing, and we desperately need millions upon millions of voices to demand peace from our leaders before things get completely out of control.

Sadly, most of the population seems to think that this is a great time to party as our leaders continue to drag us in a direction that we should not want to go.

Pastors, Prophecy, and Powerlessness

A power vacuum exists today that was foretold almost two thousand years ago. Its effects on this generation and beyond are profound and are destined to have an even more deleterious impact on America and the world in the days just ahead. The Apostle Paul prophesied the following:

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come…[men] having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. (2 Timothy 3:1, 5a)

Many pastors within Christianity today, I’m sorry to have to say, are complicit in helping fulfill this prophecy.

First, let’s define the term “Christian pastors.” Within the context of Paul’s prophecy I wish to examine here, I refer to pastors who truly preach and teach that Jesus Christ is the only Way to redemption, to reconciliation with God the Father. All others who claim to be clergy within Christianity I completely disregard, because God’s Word discounts them as false prophets, as defined by the following Scripture, to give but one example:

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. (2 Peter 2:1–3)

Again, to be clear, when I say, “Christian pastors,” I’m referring to Bible-believing preachers who lift up Christ as the only Way to salvation.

Some will say that Paul’s “perilous times” warning of men who would have “a form of godliness,” but deny “the power thereof” applies to the false teachers of Peter’s prophecy, not to true preachers called by God to be shepherds of His flock. I agree that the prophecy applies to interlopers who deny Jesus Christ as the only Way to redemption.

However, the accusation against those who have a “form of godliness, but deny the power thereof” can apply as well to God’s true shepherds. The condemnation is, in some ways, even more to the point than when leveled at the false preachers and teachers. I contend that Christian pastors today–sadly, I believe this includes most of them—deny the power of God when they cast aside prophecy given in the Bible that is for a time yet future.

As I and many others have often pointed out, the Bible consists of at least 27 percent prophecy. Half of that prophecy has been fulfilled; the remaining half has yet to be fulfilled. Although it can be proven through Scripture and history that the Bible has always been accurate in past instances, preachers and teachers consistently and persistently ignore preaching and teaching about things to come.

By this willful disregard for presenting this vast body of scriptural truth, men of God–called and anointed by the Lord as guardians of His truth and shepherds of His flocks—deny the great power wrapped up in the astonishing reality that our God is the only One who knows the end from the beginning–and in excruciating detail, I might add.

For the most part, preachers today seemingly avoid the prophetic Word at any cost. And, in God’s holy economy, the cost must be astronomical. These shepherds of God’s precious people are denying them the assurance of the hope He promises. Jesus Christ, their Lord and Savior, is the fruition of God’s magnificent plan for their journey into forever. With the knowledge of Christ’s return plainly given as imminent in God’s love letter to mankind, the born again should be living victoriously, not with cringing fear or, even worse, in almost complete apathy.

The prophetic Word says:

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (Titus 2:12-14)

The majority of those who aren’t informed about what’s going to happen next in this judgment-bound world, or who are totally unconcerned about things of God, are fed baby food rather than meat for living the way the Lord intended. These are, as often as not, force-fed the “feel good and let’s not dwell on sin too much” worldly message that is anathema to God’s truth.

To the pastors and teachers who do in fact teach doctrine and sound biblical principles, may the Lord bless you to the extent to which you remain faithful to break the Bread of Life the way it should be fed to your flocks. But if you don’t include prophecy as an important and generous part of your messages—that Jesus is coming again and might come at any moment—you are falling far short of deserving full commendation. You are denying the true power of God. You are exhibiting only a form of godliness.

Respectfully, please pay attention, you who are the truth-bearing pastors of our Holy God. These are the times to which all of Bible prophecy has pointed for millennia. These are perilous times. Signals are rampant that this generation is the one that will almost certainly see the Lord’s return in power and glory. Israel and the peace process, with all nations beginning to turn against that state, dear pastors, is the number-one signal that we are bumping up against the very end of this swiftly fleeting age. Christ’s shout, “Come up hither,” is imminent!

You will be held accountable at the judgment seat of Christ for how you treat His whole Word in feeding your flock. Jesus spoke to the great power and importance resident within prophecy while addressing the churches. John recorded what the resurrected Lord directed him to write:

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw…Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (Revelation 1:1-2, 7-8)

Daily Jot: Godliness Extends to the Small Things

In Deuteronomy 21:10–25:19, Moses lays out the heart of God’s covenant provisions. These verses contain 74 commands, more than any other in the “Torah,” in English, “the Law.” They cover family dysfunction, moral and legal obligations, sexual behavior, and rules of social responsibility. It concludes with the reminder to remain eternally vigilant against Amalek, a type of Satan, the embodiment of hatred and cruelty. Together, these commands show us that God’s instructions aren’t abstract guidelines but living direction. They set a standard for human conduct in the middle of life’s chaos. As long as people draw breath, a divine compass is needed to order our lives, guard our communities, and shine a light in darkened times.

The Torah shows us that godliness is not just about lofty ideals but everyday choices. One of the most fascinating examples of this comes in Deuteronomy 22:6–7: “If, as you are walking along you happen to see a bird’s nest… you are not to take the mother with the chicks. You must let the mother go… so that things will go well with you, and you will prolong your life.” At first glance, this may seem insignificant, but Maimonides explained in “Guide to the Perplexed” that this commandment is an act of mercy. It spares the bird unnecessary suffering and models compassion. If God cares about the emotional pain of a simple bird, how much more must we extend mercy toward one another? The lesson is clear: obedience in even the smallest matters trains our hearts to honor God and treat others with dignity.

Yeshua, Jesus, echoed this when He rebuked the religious leaders in Matthew 23:23 for straining out small details of the Law while neglecting “the weightier matters of the Torah—justice, mercy, trust.” He taught that both were necessary. Interestingly, the rabbis considered this command about the mother bird “the least of the commandments,” yet its reward mirrors one of the greatest—honoring father and mother, which also promises long life and well-being. This parallel shows that God does not measure obedience by size but by faithfulness. Every act, whether large or small, carries eternal weight. In overlooking “lesser” commandments, we risk missing the very heart of God’s mercy and justice.

In truth, there are no small commandments. Each one carries life within it. Jesus described them as the weightier things of Torah because they expose our character. Do we reflect care and compassion, or do we brush off responsibility when it feels minor? Proverbs 13:14 reminds us, “The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.” Torah, also means “instruction” or “direction,” literally points us to the mark—like an arrow aimed at the bullseye. It teaches us about sin, guides us to righteousness, and points us to Jesus, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. The Law, rightly understood, shows us our need for a Savior. Shouldn’t we be digging deeper into these things, letting even the smallest commands shape us into people of mercy, justice, and faith?

Years ago, I was looking out the window into our backyard and noticed that my German shepherd was staring intently at something. There, nestled deeply in the grass, was a brightly colored little bird. Not the kind of bird you would normally see in the wild. It looked more like something you would get from a pet shop. I went out to investigate and found this pretty little finch shaking in fright as my dog eyed it. The bird was fearing for its life. And justly so because I think my dog was looking at it as lunch.

I stooped down and held out my index finger, and the little bird hopped right on. So, I thought, “This is someone’s pet that got away.” I walked into the kitchen where my wife was making lunch. I said, “Cathe, look what I just found in the backyard.” She stared at the beautiful little bird, still very nervous, sitting on my finger.

We didn’t know what to do with it. We knew it probably belonged to someone, but we didn’t know who. My son Jonathan recalled that there was a little girl down the street whose pet bird had died and who still had its cage. He ran down the street, came back with the cage, and set it on the counter. I opened the door and very carefully brought my finger next to it. The bird immediately jumped in. The moment that bird was in the safety of the cage, he started acting like he was home. He chirped cheerfully. He moved from perch to perch. He was happy. And then it dawned on me what was going on. This was a bird of captivity, one that was most comfortable living in a cage.

Some people might say, “Oh, that’s so cruel. Don’t put animals in cages. Set them free.” This bird was fearing for his life. He didn’t look at those bars as a prison keeping him in. He saw them as walls of protection keeping his enemies, like my dog, out. He found security in the safety of that little cage.

That brings me to the topic that we will be covering next in these devotions. God has given us His absolute truth—in the Ten Commandments, among other places. These commandments let us know what’s right and what’s wrong, what’s true and what’s false, what’s up and what’s down. They create a framework for our lives—a spiritual cage, of sorts. But their purpose is not to trap us or keep us in bondage. Instead, they provide a barrier of protection to keep evil out.

Our enemy, the devil, tries to chip away at it. He downplays the effects of disobeying God or ignoring His commands. He tries to convince us that our protective barrier keeps us from a more exciting, fulfilling life. In other words, he lies. Over the next ten days, we’re going to examine each of God’s Ten Commandments so that you will see the life-giving truth behind each one.
